Andy's performance really helped win me over to the show initially, so I've been kinda worried that his death might have robbed the wind from its sails. The new kid doing alright?

  • March 9, 2012, 2:47 a.m. CST

Ugh. Without a new Supernatural episode, Friday tv is basically worthless.

    by I_Love_LanaLang

Can anyone honestly say that there's anything worth watching tonight? Look at the list of shows: Undercover Boss, Bluebloods, CSI, Grimm, Shark Tank, Clone Wars, Maher, and on and on it goes. I understand that Fridays are where tv shows go to die, but the current crop is so subpar that you'd have to be mentally deficient to find any entertainment value in them. So disappointing. Suck dreadful schlock.

The first 2 episodes were OK

    by Mace Tofu

My free STARZ is over so I have to wait until the end of the month to catch up with the show. It fits in with the look of the last two seasons of Spartacus. The switch of actors was not that bothersome to me.

    by centilope

He was the heart and soul of that show.

  • March 9, 2012, 3:45 a.m. CST

True, it's not the same without Whitfield however..

    by Stalkeye

..the replacement actor Liam is coming into his own while not trying to replicate andy 100% he's quite adept. The last two eps were the best so far thanks to a few twists and the reappearance of Gannikus. Besides, Lucy looks MILFilicious!

    by V'Shael

the new guy is doing a damn fine job in his own right. If anything, it was the other cast changes which hurt the show more (imo). I'm looking at you, Navia. Urgh....

  • I can say without reserve that I never stopped thinking about the resplendent posts you consistently made. They set the talkback universe ablaze with intelligence, competence, an urbane manner, and the proclivity for teaching the less educated posters about what it means to be an informed and civilized human being. How I longed for the day when I could once again bask in the glow of your inimitable talents as a wordsmith. That day has arrived! If there is a God, He has blessed me with the presence of your innate genius. Venerate Bopnrumble! God Bless Bopnrumble!

In the end they decided to go with Andy. To give Liam credit he is growing into the role with each episode (the same as Andy Whitfield).

Spartacus isn't nearly as good as it had been

    by FrodoFraggins

But it's not really because of the new actor. The story lines just aren't anywhere near as compelling. They seem to be having trouble dealing with spartacus outside of the arena and the estate.

Just what the doctor ordered- a little Hamm on Maher with wry

    by Michael Lunney

  • The underwater shit at the beginning of the season was no way to start a season. But the undercover kenobi arc was great and I'm enjoying the Darth Maul return build up. Tonight's episode isn't the season finale tho is it? I think because of the Gungan arc plus the lame C3p0 episodes at the start this season has been the weakest yet.

  • March 9, 2012, 8:57 a.m. CST

    Spartacus is still pretty awesome

    by pumaman

Stick with it , or find cock up arse! :-)

  • Sometimes it bothers me how this show doesn't keep in canon with the films at certain points . For example In ROTS it is made clear Anakin and General Grevious are meeting for the first time. Not only that but Anakin has a padawan in the show(doesn't that automatically make him a master just not on the council?) and obviously something major has happen to Asoka in order for her not being mentioned at all in ROTS make sense. I actually feel Clone Wars has the potential to make one the weakest part of the prequels(how easy and quickly Anakin turns to the dark side) a little better. If they handle Asoka's death(if thats what indeed happens to her) just right it will strengthen Anakins reasoning for turning to Sidious and thus becoming Vader. He lost his mother and felt helpless so if Anakin has visions of Asoka dying, and he can't stop it, then it makes sense that he takes His premonitions about Padme dying in childbirth so seriously. At the same time Clone Wars show what the prequels didn't. Which is that Anakin is a strong leader, smart strategist and even a mentor. So sure he has a dark streak every once in a while but to commit the totally sadistic Jedi Purge, killing younglings

  • (continued from previous post)...killing younglings and committing totally to the dark side just doesn't jive with his clone wars heroics and personality. I just wish most people wouldn't write this show off due to the prequels cause it can be so fucking good it makes you wonder if in the end this show will make people go back, watch the whole saga, and have more appreciation for the prequels. Anakins reasoning for turning to Vader always seems weak but like I said before maybe this show will either make it more unbelievable or strengthen his motivations for turning.

Oh, my mistress of marvelous miracles. I wholeheartedly agree with you that without Supernatural Friday tv is basically worthless. And Supernatural hasn't been great lately. It is missing something and after some thinking I have found out what it is. What Supernatural misses is an actress of the caliber of Kristin Kreuk. She would bring much needed class to the show combined with an uncanny acting ability. Dean needs a love interest in the show, because he has become very grumpy lately. And Sam needs some female guidance because he is so insecure these days. The ratings would go through the roof with the presence of Kristin Kreuk and an 8th season of Supernatural would be secured just like that. Why are the producers of Supernatural sleeping? They need to pick up Kristin Kreuk before some other show does. Actresses like Kristin Kreuk only come along once in a generation.

I'm watching Maher, Spart & SW, mainly b/c...

    by obijuanmartinez

Star Wars: It actually ain't that bad! I liked the use of Ventress / the Force Witches of Dathomir this season; last week's ep. w/ Boba & Bossk was pretty good too. Curious to see if they tie anything up, or leave it as a cliffhanger Spartacus: I too had reservations about Liam taking over for Andy. He's not necessarily better or worse - just different (kind of like the idea of another drummer in the Who following Keith Moon's death - it can be done, they still will rock/rocked, but NOBODY played drums like Keith), and to his credit, he's doing a solid job. I enjoy the direction the arc is taking. If they follow the (quasi?)-history of Spartacus, then I think Glaber will be getting his ticket punched at Vesuvius. The episode 2 weeks ago w/ the coliseum was ROCKIN' Maher: Just rocks!

  • Lucas dropped the plot point from ROTS to focus more on Anakin's turn but I'd love to know this dudes back story. We see the clones thnk independently quite a few times so Order 66 in ROTS makes even less sense unless they show how Clones can be programmed. When the prequels first came out and midiclorians were brought into the mythology and we learn of Darth Plaguies the Wise I thought Anankin would be turned to the dark side in the same way Jedi mind tricks work. I thought the Emperor would be able to control Anakins midiclorians to influence his turn to the dark side rather than Anakin turning because he felt it was the right thing to do. Anyone else think this would have made sense and work better? It would of added a few dimensions to how we perceive Vader. Anakin was turned very much like the Clones. ROTS could of been great had it shown Sidious gaining access to Anakins mind and taking control more or less. Lucas sets this up by introducing the midiclorians as a plot device which most fans hated and I think had it turned out Anakin turned due to Sidious's control of midiclorians the whole idea would have received a much more positive response. What say you?

Young Justice scratches where I itch - so much better than it has any right being. Who would've thought a show about teenaged former sidekicks would be one of the most adult (in tone if not in content) things DC Animation has produced? Green Lantern on the other hand disappointed me with its pilot and I don't like the Timm style in CG. Have subsequent episodes improved?

But Palin is a cunt. Not all women who take birch control are sluts. Olbermann apologized for saying about Hillary: *taking her into a room and only he comes out* But he did not say this about himself - not as you lied and clamed he said: *Maybe have Keith Olberman come on and talk about his desire to have someone take Hilary Clinton into a room and beat her.* A comment made by MSNBC's Keith Olbermann came during a post-PA discussion with Howard Fineman about how the Democratic primary race might finally come to an end. Fineman said it was going to take "some adults somewhere in the Democratic party to step in and stop this thing, like a referee in a fight that could go on for thirty rounds. Those are the super, super, super delegates who are going to have to decide this." Said Olbermann: "Right. Somebody who can take her into a room and only he comes out." Olbermann responds: "It is a metaphor. I apologize: the generic 'he' gender could imply something untoward. It should've been 'only the other comes out — from a political point of view.'" It was a poor choice of words, and he apologized and clarified. Everyone makes rhetorical slipups. I actually listen to Limboob. He is a parade of hate. That is his raison-d'etre, not the occasional faux pas. I doubt you watch Maker or Olbermann on a regular basis. So shut the fuck up, idiot, and stop with the faux equivalency bullshit and admit Limboob is a lying, hate mongering bastard, and that is all he will ever be, and that is why he is revered by the right. Maybe you need to stop just parroting lying talking points, dummy.

Yes, Rush is Free to Say What He Wants...

    by Scott

But that doesn't mean his words should not have consequence. Meaning, we can't legally punish him for being a tool (though I'd bet he was pretty close to slander), but that doesn't mean we can't call him out for it. Or that advertisers and stations can't distance themselves from him. And calling two dimwit females a cunt and/or a twat once does not equal what Rush did. One was done on pay cable, by a comedian, and directed at very public figures. The other was done for nine hours (over three days), on public radio, and was directed at a rejected congressional witness who would otherwise be unknown. And, though some people forget this, Maher was criticized for this, rightfully so I might add. It just wasn't front-page news b/c Maher has a fraction of the influence Rush has with respect to his party.

In reality, I'm just right of center 'and most posters here see that as 'radical because they view me from the fringe left on the rim of the galaxy. I have no love for the GOP. They're idiots. <p> But I loathe the modern day left.<p> I can honestly tell you when I heard what Rush said , I knew he crossed the line. <p> I also knew he'd get hammered for it incessantly by a media who never...EVER... bat an eyelash at comments from Maher, Olbermann, Malloy etc. <p> The fact that you "AICN token hard-lefties" get head-faked into thinking this is about Rush shows how penetrative your focus on any particular issue really is. Like getting my cat to chase around a red dot from a laser pointer for 20 minutes. You guys are easy.<p> How most of you cherry pick your outrage never ceases to make me laugh. <p> "But Sarah Palin IS a cunt" says Mcgoo. Oh, well that explains it right? *facepalm*<p> The monstrous hypocrisy of progressives... folks who proclaim their sensitivity, nuanced thinking, therapeutic concern for the tender sensibilities of others, and open-mindedness... have always been the most vicious, bigoted, narrow-minded, crude, dogmatic, conformist people on the planet. <p>

For those complaining about the storyline not being up to snuff, bear in mind that the producers are taking their plot points from HISTORY, not mythology (admittedly, I got a lot of the details from Wiki once I got into the show). All the stuff we're seeing; Spartacus (and Crixus...AND Oenomaus) being captive slaves in the House of Batiatus in Capua...then he became a famous gladiator...then he led a big slave revolt (killing many @ HoB)...then he led a rag-tag group of slaves & drove the Romans nuts for several years...[spoilers ahead] eventually they split into 2 groups led by Spartacus & Crixus...Rome charged Crassus to end the Third Servile War (name of all this)...with 50K troops, Rome eventually prevailed...and finally (can't wait to see this depicted), six THOUSAND rebel slaves were crucified along the road leading from Rome to Capua. Seems like there's enough 'juice' left in this tale to go one, maybe two, more seasons, but at some point, all the good-guys are gonna eat some serious slaughter.

That's why Yoda says, "luminous beings are we, not this crude matter." By the time of The Empire Strikes Back, Yoda knows that the Force transcends the physical world. That is why the Jedi Order failed. They didn't know the true nature of the Force. Midiclorians are crude matter.

    doctorwho? - Who knew?

    by Michael Lunney

Really? wow. I had no idea Limboob was a progressive. And conservatives have taught progressives how to be just as mean-spirited and hateful as they are. - we are only using your own playbook to return your hateful rhetoric- so, I can understand when you get a faceful of hate from a progressive responding to some idiotic conservative accusatation or lie, it reminds you of you. Otherwise, yes, folks who proclaim their sensitivity, nuanced thinking, therapeutic concern for the tender sensibilities of others, and open-mindedness no longer feel it necessary to be this way toward hate-filled conservatives. Get it? Or are you still busy chasing your laser pointer.

  • An amazing test was published by John Ridley Stroop in 1935. The Stroop Test was simple. A person would look at a word and press a button indicating what color it was printed in — and they often got it wrong. It seems like this would be hard to fail. But the catch was this: the colored words spelled out the names of different colors. A word printed in yellow would spell out the word 'green.' A word printed in blue would spell out 'red.' And so on. Given time, of course, people would figure out the color of the word, especially when asked specifically for it. But when pressed for time, they would automatically blurt out what the word said, even when the tester asked them for the color of the ink. The physical appearance of the word, the first thing that anyone could spot from afar, was blasted away by the need to read its meaning. People who have read 1984 have heard of doublespeak, the technique that an oppressive government used to erase the original meanings of words in order to brainwash people en masse. Could 'singlespeak,' the actual meaning of the word, be just as much of an indoctrinated brainwashing?

On Anakin/Grievous - they haven't met in the Clone Wars. There was an episode in the current season they could have met, but Anakin was unconscious. On Anakin's "master" status - He is a master in that he has a Padawan. He's not Jedi Master, he is still a Knight. It's an honorific. Same as Obi-Wan was in Episode 2. The previous arc with Obi-Wan going undercover does actually go into Anakin's anger and distrust of the Jedi Council.

He should. Especially after that village idiot claimed on Shititty's show on Fox that Obama wants to take the country back to the days before the Civil war. You know, those same days when people who looked like Obama were in chains and bondage, while people who looked like Sistag Sarag literally owned them. She's an idiot. So is anyone who supports her or uses her as a reference to when Bill Maher called her a unt to try and excuse what Rush 'oxycontin' Limbo did. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Actually about the rush losing advertisers

    by room23storeblogspotcom

What actually happened is that Rush did not lose any advertisers for his national show, what happened is that 30 advertisers (out of millions) asked the local staion that each one advirtised with to not run their ads during the three hour block of his show. which is actually something that happens all the time. Rush's National show has actually added 3 new advirtisers since the incident happened. So because of the sensationalist nature of any media wiether it be left or right based the whole story about the advirtisers has been blown out or proportion.

You and I have been around here for quite some time and I think that we've had some good discussions in the past. In fact, I've found you to be one of the more honest and reasoned folks (i.e. political discussions) on this site. I may not have agreed with everything you have said but, more often than not, I saw where you were coming from and appreciated the discourse. Now, regarding my previous post, I would not have considered you one of AICN's token conservatives. There were several other lock-step, far-rightwingers I had in mind. However, when you make statements like this... Quote: The fact that you "AICN token hard-lefties" get head-faked into thinking this is about Rush shows how penetrative your focus on any particular issue really is... The monstrous hypocrisy of progressives... folks who proclaim their sensitivity, nuanced thinking, therapeutic concern for the tender sensibilities of others, and open-mindedness... have always been the most vicious, bigoted, narrow-minded, crude, dogmatic, conformist people on the planet. ...well, it just kind of drives the point home of how quickly folks (perhaps you as well) choose to categorize those who disagree on a particular issue and/or person. You create a land with no middle/common ground, no nuance, and an automatic knee-jerk Us vs. Them condition. Seriously, without even being a member of the so-called "left", I suppose I could quite simply turn these statements on their ear and direct them at the so-called "right". Not only would it be applicable, it would probably be correct. I've been called everything from a Neocon and Rethuglican to a Libtard and Progressive Pinko-Commie. But as someone who qualifies more as an Independent Moderate/Social Libertarian, I can honestly say that the only people who try to slam me with the progressive-hypocrisy canard are those of the devout right. It's like fucking clockwork and it's amazing how quickly and easily that trigger goes off. (I mean, do you HAVE to be a progressive to despise Rush Limbaugh? Can anyone else of any political stripe find him to be nothing more than a fevered ego and a fateous asshole?!?!) So, when I think of all the utterly vile and sickening statements I've seen by members of that particular persuasion, I really have to laugh and sigh because the epistemic closure is just so ripe with delusion and, I might add, a rather dangerous lack of self-awareness. If you think I'm kidding, just take a look at conservative superstar Pamela Geller's contribution to the Limbaugh-Fluke fiasco... Quote: A 30-year-old poses as a 23-year-old, chooses a Catholic University to attend at $65,000 per year and can not afford ALL the birth control pills she needs… so she wants the US taxpayers to pay for her rampant sexual activity. By all accounts she is banging it five times a day. She sounds more like a prostitute to me. She must have an gyno bill to choke a horse (pun intended). Slut was a softball. Obama calls her and tells Sandra Slut Fluke that her parents should be so proud of her. He’s a pimp. - Pamela Geller As if that's not enough, just look at the level of discourse that little gem brought about... Quote: you know what.. I hope fluke gets circumcised totally..she supports muslims wholeheartedly..may her clit be sliced to the root..fuck fluke" - Posted by: vangrungy | Sunday, March 04, 2012 at 10:48 PM Is this what passes for acceptable conservatism these days? Or, would this more likely qualify as the monstrous hypocrisy of conservatives? Even George Will (!) finally saw the light when he admitted that conservatives have failed to police their own - Rush Limbaugh. For decades now, Limbaugh's race-baiting, carnival-barker, excuse for a radio show has operated with nary a slap on the wrist from conservatives and their sitting politicians. It lends credence to the idea that they are genuinely afraid of his influence. Makes you wonder why this has been the case all these years and who is really the voice of the overall party. And as conservatives attempt to mediate this issue by dragging people like Bill Maher and Ed Schultz (guys who have paid for their statements in the past) into the mix, it just gives off the appearance that they will do anything to avoid accepting responsibility for an offender of their own political persuasion. In Limbaugh's case, I think that's why you're seeing such a strong reaction against his statements. Payback is a bitch and Rush has been running a tab for a long, long time. It was inevitable that he would be asked to settle-up. Anyway, food for thought. Cheers.

Yeah I felt sorry for Zatara/Zatana and their sacrifice, such deep stuff. Plus as always great action. Have you seen the direct to DVD Justice League: Doom? Great stuff also, Vandal Savage and a villian team sneaks into the Batcave and steals Batmans secrets that he keeps on each member of the JL to take them down incase they ever turn evil and uses the info against the JL. Great stuff, I think that its after a arc called Tower of Babel. Many time the DC direct to DVD is better then the live action movies and this is coming from someone who absolutly loves the Nolan Batman, Raimi Spiderman, X2, X-Men First Class and a few other movies. A couple of the animated direct to DVD Marvel movies are great also.

You all schooled me. Although I swear Anankin and Grevious have had an encounter but your probably correct. Good call on the "luminous beings" point. I could argue that since midiclorians aren't mentioned in the OT that Lucas just hadn't thought of it as a way of measuring a Jedi's potential strength and explaining the force but your point about the Jedi failing works pretty well. However in ROTS Dooku and Anakin act like the last time they fought was during their duel in Attack of the Clones. You could make an argument that when Anakin says "My Powers have doubled since the last time we met Count" he was clearly referring to their encounter in Attack of the Clones hence Obi Wan's line "this time we do it together". Since all duels Anakin and Dooku have in the tv series end in a tie or retreat ROTS gets away with the "last time we met" line since Anakin could theoretically be referrering to a duel we have yet to witness on the tv series. I must of missed the episode regarding the clones programming but in Attack of the Clones the cloners mention they obey any order. So in ROTS Commander Cody is the first to shoot a Jedi without any thought at all which makes sense given the info from attack of the clones. However In the tv series As shown with sadistic Jedi general Krull the clones disobey and even try to kill him. The clones are shown to have reasoning capabilities so for everyone of them to accept Order 66 like a robot seems strange. Then again if I missed an episode regarding the clones being programmed then I may be talking out of my ass

    Fair enough MNG.

    by DoctorWho?

And on and on it goes.... <p> I've posted video links and hateful quotes etc from lefties here in the past too. It all goes ignored. Should I repost them? Would most here have even heard of half of them If CNN and NBC don't spew it out? Would you even care to read them? Nah. <p> The "epistemic closure" being so "ripe with delusion" works perfectly in reverse you must know. The lack of self-awareness on the left is astonishing. However, I do give the benefit of the doubt to many...why? Because many people aren't even aware of the examples. <p> McGoo verifies this up with his weak-ass admission of abandoning any personal civility towards ALL people across the board. "Why McGoo?" Answer: "Don't you get it? Conservative people have it coming to them man? THEY don't deserve to be treated in kind as the rest of US do!'' Rather tribal and xenophobic thinking huh?<p> In other words civility, courtesy, tolerance etc aren't personal codes I try to live by. Nope. Rather, I bestow these upon your presence if I deem you worthy (i.e. 'your politics are the same as mine') Bill Maher calls Palin a cunt: Crickets. <p> Rush Limbaugh calls a woman a slut: Apoplectic, Self-Righteous Nuclear-Fucking-Meltdown!! <p> I would ask anyone: "I don't care what your politics a scientist for 2 seconds and observe the empirical evidence. <p> And thanks for the kind words MNG. I can't stand Obama's politics and I think he has zero wisdom or skills as a leader. But hell, I'd have some beers and watch the Final Four with the guy. No problem. <p> On the flip side many of you would probably try to punch Sarah Palin in the mouth if she walked in the room. At the very least you would froth and be crude and uncivil. I'm simply extrapolating from the endless "hate-parade" of posts I see here and elsewhere. That shit does lead to the dark side you know/<p> For the record, Sarah Palin doesn't thrill me nor does she repulse me. She's just 'there' like all these other clowns. Watching you guys wet your pants and get all high-pitched and hysterical voices screaming about 'theocracies' and 'reinstating slavery' make me howl.

  • least according to "pundits" on MSNBC. i mean, ones a "comedian" (that has a show that talks almost exclusively about politics) and the other is a radio show host (that has a show that talks almost exclusively about politics). thats a HUGE difference in progressive logic! just the normal progressive hypocrisy in a AICN political tb. so sad...

is smart. Smart enough to step away from the pep rally politics bullshit and even when doing so leave a note that while both sides are kind of fuck ups in their own way the lunatic left is three laps ahead of the lunatic right is the crazy race. <P> I'd also hang out with Obama. I wouldn't trust him to manage my money though. Palin I have no idea why she's even still on the radar. She helped lose an election 4 years ago. Now she's just riding out your hatred (which be honest isn't really all about her) until the cheques stop coming in. <P> Bill Maher I'd stay away from. He's the type you could start having a beer with and quickly become annoyed with him to the point of smacking him in the back of the head. If his dad didn't beat him as a child he missed a huge opportunity. I guess that's his career niche. Which I suppose is Palin's now as well. <P> Oh has anyone else noticed that there are heavy liberal bullshit ideologies being introduced to Spartacus without reason? Suddenly the women are all empowered while the men are bubbling cry babies or out right gay (out of nowhere). It degenerates into a soap opera for a few minutes here and there and the action isn't being given the attention it used to. Combine that with the also sudden praise from rags like the huffington post and I get the feeling somebody with clout and a butt plug in his bedroom has pushed his Hollywood claws into Jupiter's ass. That's a shame. I guess we still have Justified!

    ndally re: grevious & anakin

    by Rebel Scumb

I haven't seen the last handfull of episodes (waiting for the blu-ray) but I know at least until that point in the show Grevious and anakin have not met, and the writers specifically have noted that they constantly have to find ways to write around them ever meeting each other because it is established in RotS that that was their first meeting. Overall I love tCW, it is by far better than the prequels, and even sort of fixes them in a lot of ways if you think of tCW as the real prequels, and the movies themselves as a few spinoff supplements to the show (like those weak Babylon 5 tv movies) I also hope they use the show to clear up all the sifo dyas stuff and who erased the jedi archieve files Would also be cool to see some flashback episodes of young Dooku and Quigon on pre-TPM adventures as jedis, or younger Obi-wan with kid anakin between TPM and AotC, also showing how Dooku was turned.

    Saying Maher equals Limbaugh

    by Hipshot

Is just nuts. If anything, Maher equals Dennis Miller. Limbaugh equals Ed Schultz (only more popular). And I love people who say Obama is "a racist." Really? He thinks whites are inferior? When he's half white? Raised by whites? Has tons of white friends and hires them, and has worked for them? Says wonderful things about them in his books and speeches? If the bar for "racism" is that low, then every white person in America must be a racist, unless they have better creds than that. Got it? Unless you are 1) more than half black 2) have more black friends, employees, and mentors than Obama has white ones 3) have made more public comments praising black people than Obama has whites 4) know more about black history and culture than Obama knows about white history and culture... You are a racist. Right.

    Ndally - Sifo Dyas

    by Darklighter

After watching half of the first season of CW I stopped dismissing it as more Lucas marketing for kids but when I heard Maul was coming back had to go back and re watch it from the beginning and actually just finished getting caught up lat night. And gotta say you should do the same cause it has gotten progressively better. A few shitty cutesy episodes here and there but for the most part it has helped the prequels out. The Clones though from what I have gathered are bred with a loyalty to the Republic but deeper down to Palpatine himself so that when Order 66 is sent out it's like the Manchurian candidate kind of thing where all logic and loyalty is thrown out for that one particular task to accomplish. There are moments that kind of ruin stray from the canon established in the films but for the most part it stays within guidelines. Anakin and Grievous have definitely never met yet. If you want to learn about Sifo Dyas and basically every other plot hole like midichlorians then you have to read the new book out Star Wars: Plagueis. It's like the Holy Grail of Star Wars. Anyone that's a little bit of a fan of SW needs to read that book trust me you'll thank me later. It ties in all the movies, previous books, video games and cartoon series (even a Droids cartoon reference) check it out!

SPARTACUS Just Keeps Getting Better And Better

When this season began, I wasn't so sure. The change of scenery and lead actor felt unfamiliar and I wondered if it wasn't going to be as great as the previous two seasons. I was wrong! This season has continually gotten better and better, and delivered a mid-season episode that eclipsed the finales of many other shows. The writing is awesome, the characters are superb and the action scenes are fantastically choreographed and shot. Spartacus' finishing move in this week's episode, and the resulting admiration of those around him was totally bad-ass. Can't wait for next week!

Here's the problem with Limbaugh and the slut comment - it's not OK to dehumanize and/or slander someone for nine hours when they aren't a public figure. She's a grad student. I also think three-quarters of what Maher says about Palin is uncalled for, but as a public figure, there is an expectation of criticism. It would be no different if Limbaugh ranted for nine hours how everyone who thinks John Carter is a good movie is "round-footed" or a slut. A queston I have is: Why is it OK for Limbaugh to call someone a slut, but Don Imus gets fired for "nappy-hair?"

So what are you trying to say? That that qualifies or justifies her being called a "slut" by Limbaugh? And just remember that if your answer is no, then that last post of yours is totally irrelevant and pointless.

    Fuckin' Jay2517

The fuckin' dimwittedness of your statement is incalculable.

    Fuckin' feminazi?

    by Al Swearengen

Well, I guess that's one way to expose yourself as an intellectual fraud, huh? Tell ya this, son. You can mark my words. There are no fuckin' facts to your post, you loopy fuckin' cunt. Just slander. And what a type you must consort with that you don't fear beating for such a slew of insults.

  • btw- how are my facts NOT facts?

  • March 12, 2012, 7:42 a.m. CST

Anyone who uses the term "Feminazi" is intellectually bankrupt

  • March 12, 2012, 7:46 a.m. CST

So your answer is no, then? Right?

    by Kai_Mah'gra

Which in essence means that that post is completely irrelevant and pointless to the discussion at hand. Which is that Rush Limbaugh crassly attacked and insulted an undeserving individual exercising her right to express her opinion on a public matter, and as a result he got rightly reprimanded both in rhetoric and in the form of losing a whole bucketload of his sponsors and advertisers. What Fluke does for a living and whether or not she's a "pubic" person is neither here nor there and is just as impertinent a point as whether or not anyone cares about some bullshit "feminazi" bullcrap. Thanks for playing in today's edition of "I wasted everyone's time by spouting a bunch of irrelevant drivel".

  • He's just a man filled with hate.

    poor kai....

    by jay2517

....why can u progressives NOT understand common sense and facts? why must u deflect from the facts of my post? fact- Fluke is a 30 year old professional feminist who went to G'Town with the express intent on taking away their First Amandment. she "testified" before Congress. she is now a "public" person. she is no "grad student". these are F-A-C-T-S. and how does me not condoning what ElRushBo said about her make my FACTS irrelevant? NOW, with that said, where is ur progressive "moral outrage" against Bill Maher, the coward Olbermann, Mathews, Shultz etc eh??? or are u a typical progressive hypocrite?

  • wow, u are an unadulterated idiot if u think that. sorry, but thats the truth. ill give u a quick example from the coward about the time he called Paris Hilton a slut?? care to defend that, hypocrite? or how about the time that Maher called Palin a twat?? care to defend that too, hypocrite?? u freaking progressives and ur selective "moral outrage"... BTW_ Fluke IS a feminazi. its not name calling if its the truth :)

    >>>>' Fluke IS a feminazi. its not name calling if its the truth '

    by Kai_Mah'gra

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Hey Moron, That "truth" you're using to refer to Sandra Fluke contains a reference to the Nazis. You know, the party that slaughtered 6 million people in cold blood. Explain to me again how comparing someone to the Nazi (which YOU ARE; However obliquely you're doing it, or however cute you think you are by modifying it with the prefix "Femi-") is not, in any sense of the word, name-calling. Please, I'd love to know. You are the absolute pristine and sublime definition of an IMBECILE. Like your hero Rush. And that's not me name-calling you. That's me describing you on the basis of what you've just done.

  • March 12, 2012, 11:05 p.m. CST

Okay the Rush part was name-calling...

    by Kai_Mah'gra

....but the IMBECILE part is fact and truth. It's what you are.

  • Because the only reason you introduced that "Fact" is so as to besmirch Sandra Fluke's character and therefore somehow make it seem justified in your twisted little mind that Rush was not entirely out of bounds in referring to her the way he did. There's absolutely no other reason why her background or what she does in her life should have any relevance to the discussion of Rush suffering the consequences of what he did. In essence what you're doing is essentially the same thing as what Rush did in introducing her sex life into a discussion of contraception, when any idiot knows that contraception and discussions about women's uterii are not solely or exclusively about sex. Women need those medication just so their 'female parts' can function fine, leave alone all talk about sex or having a sex life. The contraception discussion goes beyond just women's sex lives to their actual overall health. But let's introduce her sex life and use it to paint a caricature of her so that we can then slur her with a juvenile insult right? Better yet, let's introduce her background and the fact that she's a law student with feminist interest just so we can open the door to getting an opportunity to make an oblique reference and comparison of her and her kind to that the great evil of the 20th Century - the Nazis. Because, as we all know, if anyone is coming to march you into gas chambers, it's the Gloria Steinhems and the Feminist brown coat brigade. You're a idiot. And for the record, I'm not a progressive. Not everyone that disagrees with you or who, unlike you, uses more than 2 of their brain cells is.

  • Did Rush make the "slut" comment in front of an stand-up audience while performing his HBO special? No? The Shut the Fuck Up about Bill Maher already. Unless you're prepared to haul all the Dave Chappelles, and the Chris Rocks and the Eddie Murphys and the Richard Pryors and the George Carlins and the Red Foxxes ( as much as you can drag them out of their graves) and rake them all over the coals for using the N-word, and the C-word, and B-word in their stand-up comedy routines. It's called comedic artistic licence, moron. Look it up. And don't ask me about Olbermann. He's just as big an idiot as Rush is.

Episode 20 of Clone Wars... (slightly spoilery)

    by gotilk

The whole sequence on the levitated train was 10 times better than ANY action sequence in ANY Star Wars film and perhaps better than any action film I've seen in the last decade. It was that good. It deserves awards for that episode alone. That was BREATHTAKING!! Did anyone else come away from that almost feeling physically exhausted just from watching it? Is it just me? It can't be. It was astounding, massive, energetic, visceral, beautifully choreographed and animated. And it was populated with characters with back stories that made you care about how it all turned out in the end. George Lucas, take note. Your people know how to do this stuff the right way, trust in them when it comes to your live action series and you will have another classic on your hands. Fandom will forgive ANY former crime against them if you let these people do the work they were allowed to do here. ASTOUNDING!! If this episode were converted to 3d (not too hard considering it's all a digital source) and released for a short run in theaters along with the episode before and after it, somewhat edited to appear as a Ventress-only story, they could have a minor hit on their hands. I cannot believe that this little animated show has got me so pumped. It seems to just get better and better every time I see it. And this one had me literally on the edge of my seat.

...and Maher didn't *defend* Rush you blathering idiots.

    by gotilk

He *defended* the idea of someone being able to speak his mind, even if said person is a hateful, stupid douchebag, without being censored because of pressure on sponsors through so-called letter writing campaigns and petitions that usually consist of about 90% fakes that no-one ever investigates. He's explained it VERY clearly, yet you still stick to your version of it. Why? Because it *fits*. You're a lost cause. We'll be living with you and your votes until you die, and that just sucks. Subtlety , nuance and context is so beyond so many of you Republic party teabagging douchenozzles, and I don't see it ever ending. You keep swallowing the Neo-Conservatard , religious right spunk and you'll need your stomachs pumped soon. Yet you still see yourselves (some of you) as the *new Republicans*. The *South Park* republicans. Truth is, Matt and Trey would most likely consider most of you nothing more than something worth laughing at. NOTHING is black and white, yet most of you think seeing things for what they really are is some kind of *intellectual elitism*. Dumb good, smart bad. Facts bad, opinion good. Either way, the truth hurts. If this keeps up, you'll destroy this country. Economically, socially. In every way possible. Corruption will just get worse and worse all while you see it as just some liberal agenda to make the rich feel bad for being rich. Black and white, no grey areas, it just *is what it is* in the words of a retarded comedian. Your tiny brains have been duped and sold out by the conservative *think* tanks' marketing machines. Best of luck. You have no clue that so many of the things you stand for, the more libertarian ideas, many of us so-called *librals* actually agree with. But you're so blinded by the other bullshit, you'll never see it and never get anything done as a group because you've closed your minds off and slapped a label on us. Fuck off.

  • Right? Wrong? Oh and Witwer as Maul was REALLY good voice work.

  • Explain to me again how comparing someone to the Nazi (which YOU ARE; However obliquely you're doing it, or however cute you think you are by modifying it with the prefix "Femi-") is not, in any sense of the word, name-calling. Please, I'd love to know.--- ok. Nazi eliminated what they deemed unworthy by any means deemed fit. feminazi's conform to the same rule. the perfect example being Fluke wanted to take away the Catholics Church's First Amendment rights by any means she saw fit ie LYING about contraceptives. its REALLY simple :) You are the absolute pristine and sublime definition of an IMBECILE.--- what? for presenting FACTS? hmmm, no wonder ur a progressive. Like your hero Rush.--- nope. my hero is me :) free thought is a good thing! And that's not me name-calling you. That's me describing you on the basis of what you've just done.--- yes it is because ur lying and all i have presented is facts.

  • Did Rush make the "slut" comment in front of an stand-up audience while performing his HBO special?--- nope. he made it front of his audience on his radio show. no difference whatsoever and ur now equating that calling someone a slut has different levels? if El RushBo said it in front of a HBO audience then it would be ok?? see, this is where u idiot progressives lose every time. calling someone a slut on a national stage is WRONG 10 out of 10 times. ur utter hypocritical "moral outrage" is so typical of the progressive mindset. sooo sad :( The Shut the Fuck Up about Bill Maher already.--- so i take it u cant debate the utter hypocrisy that is Maher and i chalk this up to another win for me. deflection is another great "virtue" of the progressive mindset. sooo sad again :( Unless you're prepared to haul all the Dave Chappelles, and the Chris Rocks and the Eddie Murphys and the Richard Pryors and the George Carlins and the Red Foxxes ( as much as you can drag them out of their graves) and rake them all over the coals for using the N-word, and the C-word, and B-word in their stand-up comedy routines.--- see, as long as they STAY "comedians" i have no problem with them. however, since they actually contribute to the racism (Foxx, Chappelle and Pryor etc) and insanely idiotic "political comedy" (Carlin) then they ARE the problems which they rail against. if u dont want the word nigger used, quit using it in ur comedy. Bill Cosby is a great example of how to be funny yet not use the word nigger. if u want every one to get along politically and work things out, then dont viciously assault people of the opposite political mindset that u (Carlin). hypocrites of the highest degree. see? common sense is cool :) It's called comedic artistic licence, moron.--- nope. its called reverse racism and progressive political hypocrisy. pretty simple. Look it up.--- dont have to. i know it when i see it :) And don't ask me about Olbermann. He's just as big an idiot as Rush is.--- glad we agree on something! progress is good!! :) :)
