Here's A New 5 Minute Red Band Clip For 21 JUMP STREET!
Nordling here.
I'm not watching this, mostly because I'm seeing it tonight, and I don't want any more jokes spoiled for me. But for those of you still on the fence, here's a 5 minute clip from 21 JUMP STREET. Again, I have no idea what's on it, and that's fine with me.
21 JUMP STREET opens March 23rd.

from a cop drama for the teenagers of the 80s,they turned it into a tasteless scatological comedy for the lowest common denominator of the 2000s. GOOD JOB HOLLYWOOD.

I will see this because Hollywood tells me Jonah Hill is a hot commodity.

Treat it don't beat it. Respect it don't neglect it.

-
It's 100% on RT right now
-
...was terrible. Johnny Depp talked about how terrible it was, and how much he hated it. I think he even tried to sabotage the show. The only thing they could do was make it into a comedy. Or not make it at all.

jacobfromlost...this show was good from what i can remember.
by Tikidonkeypunch
Of course I was a child at the time but I remember an episode where Johnny Depps Hanson befriended a teen with AIDS. He even gave the guy a hug when it wasn't popular to hug AIDS victims. Especially with the homophobia that was running rampant in the 80's. Sure it wasn't MASH or anything groundbreaking but it certainly wasn't shit. I like when they take a comedic twist such as Starsky and Hutch and The Brady Bunch. When you go dramatic you get shit like The Mod Squad.
-
Maybe I'll watch the film because of that awesome interview.
-
I'm officially on board. That looks freaking hilarious.
-
Even top critics have been praising it.
-
I was among the unimpressed and uninterested until i saw this redband trailer. Very funny. Channing Tatum just might prove me wrong about him.
-
does this get 100%?!
-
March 6, 2012, 6:38 p.m. CST
This will be Channing Tatum's best role ever, because...
by BlackBauer0320
He's playing the type of guy that he comes off as in every other movie he's in (i.e. DUMB). Trailer had a lot of laughs, in particular the parking lot scene, followed by the principal scene, followed by the hallway scene. Here's hoping it lives up to the hype it's getting so far!
-
Had zero expectations for it, but it was funny as hell and surprisingly good. I never thought Hill and Tatum would be a good pairing, but they really play well off each other and they have an excellent supporting cast. It doesn't hurt that they also go for a hard R.
-
March 6, 2012, 7:02 p.m. CST
They really need an updated version of the theme song.
by MaliceHighload

looks awesome. Hope I don't have to see it dubbed into shitty Hungarian with the voices of 65 year old actors.

obviously I've become sadly naive, since when I heard recently about Johnny Depp's cameo in this...
by TheSeeker7
it bummed me the fuck out, that he'd willingly be a part of this. Yea obviously he's got the history with the name brand, and of course his inclusion will only help the box office that much more, but c'mon. This looks sooooooooo fucking retarded, trying way too hard to be funny. and ya know it kinda hurts the conceit a little bit, the "comedy" of 20something cops going undercover in a high school, looking like they're too old to be there, when meanwhile the "kids" you've got at the school actually playing the students, the 'cool kids', looks himself like he's about 27 friggin years old.

Not to mention Ice Cube's continued downward spiral. Look, I get it that people evolve over time, and that's cool. But if 1992 Ice Cube could see 2012 Ice Cube, I'm inclined to think 1992 would proceed to eat a bullet, just to put himself out of misery. and oooooh, hey look kids, this red band trailer is so naughty and subversive, we say fuck and shit 37 times!!

:vomit:

did I get transported to the twilight zone? or am I in the matrix??
by TheSeeker7
I'm scrolling down the page here looking at so many of these posts, talking about their anticipation for this, saying it looks hilarious, etc.. uhh... WHAT? are we looking at the same thing? and mind you, I pride myself on not being one of these stereotypical TB'er brats that hates everything for hating's sake, just because he can.

I actually chuckled a few times. Wouldn't pay to see it but doesn't look horrible.

I don't know jack about the original show, but this movie is actually very funny. I don't know how true fans will react to it, but as someone who never saw the show, I thought the movie was hysterical.
-
By fucking retards. Where science fiction films as bashed endlessly. Comic Book films are suddenly all shitty. But garbage pumped out by the studios for idiots get praised. What the fuck has happened here?
-
Whoops
-
I was sold when I found it was directed by Phil Lord, Chris Miller. Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs and Clone High are great.

um 1992 Ice Cube wouldnt do shit to the current Ice Cube
by yourSTEPDADDY
except say good job for making money.
-
if so, he could pull off a funny/strange dealer Ala Ed Wood. I guess I'll watch it.
-
March 6, 2012, 9:07 p.m. CST
from what I heard, Depp is cameo'ing in the same character he played on the show
by TheSeeker7
-
or did anyone else not crack a smile during that?
-
March 6, 2012, 10:02 p.m. CST
really looks weak as hell, like comedy bar has been waaaay lowered. real cheap jokes. shameful.
by wattos new hat
I'll still watch it and maybe enjoy it. but total lame shit for brainless people who haven't been exposed to great comedy.
-
March 6, 2012, 10:04 p.m. CST
The show may have been a cheesy concept i guess but it had good chemistry amongst the charismatic characters.

The supplier is the guy that got away at the beginning?
-
it's a super long trailer that basically within five minutes time completely gives you the cliff notes to the entire film. seriously that in's cool

I'm one black gay kid getting punched in the face-away from having a nervous breakdown.
by Jarrete Barnett
Had minimal interest in this flick until the past few weeks. Now, I actually want to see this. So far, Channing Tatum seems a lot funnier than Wahlberg in The Other Guys. Jonah Hill is the typical bumbling dork, but it still works. I've hardly ever remotely been a Tatum fan, but with everything I've seen from this flick, he seems to have some of the funniest moments in the movie.
-
If Depp's cameo was his original character was undercover (or rouge) as the head drug dealer. It would be like the Inception of all movie cameos.
-
That's as funny as the film will be. Right there. 4 minutes. Laugh it up. Stay home.
-

This will be sold as the greatest movie ever made. And Jonah will be set for life. Gte ready for more Hill of beans.

I have no particular affection for the source material so have no problems with the comedy angle. Looks funny as fuck.

@maxcherry - your comment is bewildering. "Rottentomatoes is full of douchebag hipsters"? Dude, all the site does is gather EVERY review from ALL OVER THE COUNTRY, from top film critics as well as local papers, and make an average. Besides - do you really
by dasheight
....trailer/clips above, and just like everyone else, I've been highly skeptical this was going to be any good - but those clips are HYSTERICAL. It looks like they really went for a Hard R rating, and made a HELL of a funny movie. I downloaded the screenplay about a year ago, and SOME of this was there, but it looks like it's going to be even funnier. Anyone who doesn't laugh at the above video is trying to be a contrarian, pure and simple. If you don't think that video is funny, you have no sense of humor - period. OBJECTIVELY - no sense of humor.
-
for me. And that fat kid just looks like the kind of spoiled actor that got his jobs because he's related to somebody--can anybody verify whether this is indeed the case? Grem-
-
Jonah Hill's jokes all seem to fall flat, but Tatum's seem to hit the mark every time. I'm not saying that this had me laughing out loud the entire time but you can tell when a joke sticks its' landing and when the theater is gonna hear crickets. Jonah Hill was hilarious....when he didn't take himself so seriously....now....it seems not so much
-
This looks gooood.

dasheight...OBJECTIVELY, son, you ain't the meter of what is or is not funny.
by Subtitles_Off
Objectivity can suck Subjectivity's dick, when it comes to comedy. I happen to wet my pants when I see a Christopher Guest movie. IN THE LOOP, FOUR LIONS, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER. These are the movies that make me laugh. Hysterically. Ice Cube saying "fuck" over and over. Um, not so much. I'm in the camp that thinks this movie doesn't need to exist. If these filmmakers are so funny, they'll need to prove it to me by making something original. I've got a second leg in the camp that doesn't give a shizz, because I never watched a single episode of the TV show. I'm also gonna stick my dick in the appropriate genital region of the camp that thinks it might be fun to watch the Millenials make fun of 80s fetishists, from the standpoint of someone who knows the current youth demographic is going to make the best idiot fodder of all-time in ten years-or so. C'mon! I can do this all day. I got 29 fucking appendages. One for every camp you can come up with. Drug humor. Sex humor. Jonah Hill acting smart, and Channing Tatum, um, acting dumb. This movie can't fail. Can't fail to be funnier than THE HANGOVER. And, also can't fail at kind of sucking. Everybody should be happy.
-
Ya know, you couldn't pay me to see this thing anyway so nevermind lol
-
yeah that is exactly the case. Jonah Hill FELDSTEIN is the son of Richard Feldstein the accountant of the Guns and Roses and good good friends with Dustin Hoffman + he is fucking Dustin Hoffman's ugly ass daughter. So he got a quick start in showbiz.
-
March 7, 2012, 10:10 a.m. CST
Jonah Hill Feldstein spent 5 yrs writing this humorless shit
by Frye777
the fat fucker is soooo full of himself. just listened to him on Howard Stern.

I hope this does well.

by BurnHollywood
I lost track of how many times they sat in front of a desk and got lectured...and this is just the freaking trailer. Why not just fire their asses?
-
Ugh...
-
That Jonah's so hot right now. Jonah.
-
....but did you guys notice they took down the interview with that John Carter chick because of all the negative talk about the movie in the talk back. The runners of this site have no integrity!!!!! LOL
-
..because of the level of vitriol in the talkback, I would argue that they showed remarkable integrity. Anonymity doesn't mean that you shouldn't have some personal dignity and show at least a modicum of human decency to others. A basic level of respect should be given to everyone, regardless of whether you think all grownups are sellouts or not. Some of you kids need to grow up enough to deserve the privilege of speaking your mind. Some say that we (as a species) have evlolved along with our technology, but I would posit that the same percentages of barbarians, intellectuals, and everything in between has always existed. This site sometimes provides evidence.
-
This looks like it has the chance to be one of the funnier movies of the year, I just hope that I didn't just watch the entire movie in the above clip.
