Quality-wise, “Doom” is a middling title, not nearly as good as “Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths” or “Justice League: The New Frontier” but nowhere near as putrid as “Superman/Batman: Public Enemies.”
Still, it’s especially disappointing because “Doom” was scripted by the late Dwayne McDuffie, who did such a spectacular job with “All-Star Superman,” my all-time favorite of these straight-to-Blu movies based on the DC Comics characters.
If you haven’t heard, it’s about the Legion of Doom sneaking into the Batcave and stealing Batman’s plans for neutralizing his fellow Justice Leaguers (should they become mind-controlled or compromised in some other fashion). Thing is, Batman’s plans don’t seem that impressive. Vandal Savage couldn’t think up on his own the idea of shooting Superman with a kryptonite bullet?
The new set contains a preview of “Superman Vs. The Elite,” an upcoming Blu-ray movie based on the excellent March 2001 story in Action Comics #775 that pits Superman against a superhero team very much like Warren Ellis’ wonderfully murderous Wildstorm creation The Authority. I don’t know who plays Elite leader (and Jenny Sparks surrogate) Manchester Black, but it amuses me that he sounds like Bono.

How come no release date for season 4 on DVD/Blu? I watched seasons 1-3 on Netflix a couple months ago and I'm dying to see the last season!

it was average. but considering the potential of the source material it was awful. actions sequences without any ambition or scope. and again, it was too short. with batman/ superman public ennemis the worst dc animated film

Best Buy also has the $34.99 pre-order price for the blu and it may end up being the price the first week it is released. When Boardwalk Empire came out the Blu was $34.99 for the first week.
