COMIC-CON EPISODE IV - A FAN'S HOPE is touring around America. Will it play near you? Let's find out!

Published at: Feb. 24, 2012, 3:36 a.m. CST

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. When this doc premiered at Fantastic Fest last year I went in hoping to like since, you know, my buddy helped produce it and I quickly found I didn't have to worry about that awkward "What'd you think?" conversation afterwards. It's ridiculously cute and as someone who hasn't missed a Comic-Con in 12 years I can state that it does indeed capture the overwhelming enormity of this geek Mecca.

So, the flick is being given a limited theatrical tour around America beginning April 5th and shows up on VOD April 6th, so if it doesn't come to your town, you can still find it.

Here's the list of the towns Comic-Con Episode IV - A Fan's Hope will play. Click them to get theater info!

April 5th - Atlanta, Cobb Energy Center
April 6th - Orlando, UCF Arena
April 7th - Miami Beach, The Fillmore Miami Beach
April 12th - Rochester, Rochester Dome Arena
April 13th - Albany, Palace Theatre
April 14th - Philadelphia, Girard College
April 15th - Wallingford, CT, Toyota Presents Oakdale Theatre
April 19th - Cincinnati, Taft Theatre
April 20th - Chicago, Rosemont Theatre
April 22nd - Detroit, Fillmore Detroit

Geek guys, prepare yourselves to crush hard on Holly Conrad and geek girls, get ready to "aawwwww" yourselves silly over James Darling's romantic maneuverings. And also get ready to see Kevin Smith win back some awesome points.

I am a huge fan of your work and live in LA and work in TV/FILM production and am a huge fan of SD Comion, having attended last year for the first time since being 12, (both were life-changing, happy experiences) Will you be screening your Film in the So Cal area anytime in the future? Thanks

    Rosemont Theater

    by dancetothebeatofthelivingdead

Holy shit! I though that place close down years ago. Saw some great concerts there in the mid-90's, it was a welcome escape from the acoustic hell of the Rosemont Horizon/Allstate Arena. Why am I writing this? Who gives a shit? ha ha

Personally, I think Smith has enough awesome points already

    by gotilk

for what he's done with his podcast network. And Comic Book Men is pretty entertaining for a reality show.

  • AWESOME!
Whatever. I'm tired of this movie getting pimped here anyway. Harry should have created a separate site for this movie. Somebody should have, anyway. Oh well. Here's to at least three more years of this movie being pimped on AICN.

  • What about Penn, Drexel, Temple or the University of the Arts? Harry, I have connections at a couple of the above universities. If you're interested in showing at one of these shoot me an email and I may be able to help you out.

Unfortunately, that's not one of the places I have any influence. But, I do know a couple instructors there. And I can tell you all the best cheap dive bars to got to in the area if you get accepted. Good luck!

So, no NYC where they actually hold a Comic-Con

    by ToughGuyRizzo

This is some bullshit. We have the largest meetup group sci-fi related and it doesn't come thru. Fuck that noise.

No New York City. No Los Angeles. I don't see a strategy here. Odd. Just very odd.

    Wallingford ?

    by turnbullAC

Not that I'm not grateful to have this in driving distance, but what a random, lame ass town to hold it in. I'll be really surprised if there's a major turn out, although I would be pleased.

The last time I was there was for a Fiona Apple concert. It's funny that she turned out to be such a fucking fruit.
I'll probably go see this. Or not. I don't know.
