This International BATTLESHIP Poster Is Kinda Kitschy!!
Merrick here...
Via AlloCine and ComingSoon comes this international poster for Peter Berg's BATTLESHIP, evidently pimping the JOHN CARTER guy. Is Taylor Kitsch really a big draw in France or wherever? Like Jerry Lewis? More power to him if so.
I don't like this poster anywhere near as much as the more abstract, TRANSFORMERSy posters that've been making the rounds. Presumably, though, I wouldn't be their target demographic for such a poster so what do I Know?

Then we can expect MouseTrap, directed by McG, Life, directed by Sam Mendes, and Yahtzee directed by Paul Anderson(the shitty one).
Search your feelings, you know this to be true. -
Better luck next time, gents

and this is like your first poster mock up on Adobe Photoshop. Absolutely dreadful stuff.

Someone needs to step up and start making event films along the lines of Jaws, Star Wars, E.T. and Raiders again. Occasionally we get a great surprise like TDK or MI:4 (which really wasn't much of an "event film"), but I'm afraid that in my lifetime I'll never see another run again like we had in that decade starting with Jaws in 75 and ending with Back To The Future in 85. What an amazing 10 years for movies.
-
Bland, lame, and vanilla flavored poster
-
And that is all Hollywood seems to want people to know.
Don't they realise that all the data and focus groups their marketing depts collect continue to sell their movies short? -
and you're sitting on top of a turd.

Gay.

'75 to '85 is 11 years but I get your point.

Transformers. Hancock. Giant guy I've never heard of. Based on a board game. Who thought any of this was a good idea? Oh and Rihanna is in it. Some cunt I only know about because she got punched in the face.
by supermarch
Get the Gringo.
Cogan's Trade.
Savages.
Bullet to the Head.
These are the movies I care about. John Carter, Batteship, Avengers...I could not care any less.
At this point I think I'm going to start looking for a better site to get my news from. -
Kitsch is a big draw in France? Pretty funny.
I caught an appearance of the guy, flogging John Carter on Good Morning America a few weeks back.
I don't know, he seemed to be doing a great impression of a 2x4 on the show, but maybe he was just nervous. -
-but one of a series of character posters? I'd expect Neesom and Rihanna to have their own, for example.
-
I'd rather go puke. I think I will.
-
The others have been much better

The From the producers of Transformers/Director of Hancock warning on the top of the poster
by samuel fulmer
Is this kind of like those warnings on boxes of Cigs?

starring Sam Worthington

I mean really, where the hell did this Taylor Kitsch guy come from that he is the lead in two giant upcoming Hollywood films? He's the latest in a series of fools like Shia la Beuf or whoever the fuck else that seems to come out of no where with scant talent and lukewarm charisma. Top moneyed interests find some young model type and then ram them down our throats in a series of high profile big budget extravaganzas. Reminds me of the old Hollywood days when some old greedy lecherous plutocratic fuck like Louis B Mayer would find a bright eyed girl from the country and make her an instant star. I'll reserve full judgment on Mr. Kitsch until I see the aforementioned films but I am skeptical to the say the least. You don't build trust with an audience by giving them a flavor of the month.

....COZ THE MOVIES CALLED BATTLESHIP NOT GAY GUY WITH A GUN!!!!!!!!!!!!blaagggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
The "film geek" is officially over.
Its just another marketing term now.
All you internet "film geeks" making excuses for everything Hollywood churns out should just go ahead and try to get a legitimate job in a movie marketing firm.
At least you'll get paid more. -
And that's bad.
-
Don't care if it's stupid. It looks fun. Not everything has to be 'Citizen Kane'. Movies, fun. Remember?
-
Like Chris Evans in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
-
Why do I get the feeling that Hollywood is about to force feed us Taylor - just like they tried to force Bradley Cooper's and Jeremy Remer's "stardom" down our throats?
Felllow geeks, do me a fav and check out my new stock picking app:

I posted my comment specifically to stop dumbasses from posting "First".
by vetepalapinga
First!! First!! What the fuck did you win? Retards.
-
Not surprising.
-
I give it 3 pegs out of 4.
-
Like with "from the director of Alice In Wonderland" on the Frankenweenie poster, it's like they're not even trying anymore.
-
The man is a no name and some one thought him as a selling point? I know he is in John Carter as well, but what I've seen of him in the merchandising of that movie, he really isn't an asset I'd bet on when trying to sell somehting.
