Here's ABRAHAM LINCOLN VAMPIRE HUNTER - Secret Life Featurette with Tim Burton & Timur & Cast!
Hey folks, Harry here...I kinda can't believe that we have a former citizen of the Soviet Union, directing a film about Abraham Lincoln, as a vampire hunting badass - who looks very likely to decapitate a bunch of vampiric living dead. But then, there's a shot in this thing where Lincoln's horse flips throwing him at the camera - that's just one of those unlikely things that happens to be profoundly beautiful, ironic and discombobulating. I mean. If this is where we are at in the history of cinema... what will the next few decades bring us?
I suppose, in a manner of speaking this latest trend kind of got started with PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN and their undead pirates being such a wild and unexpected success for people that had no idea what they were talking about... but now... now we have young Lincoln walloping a tree with a single blow of his mighty axe. Don't you wish you could watch this with Henry Fonda?
Here we go... I got sent this in a leather journal with the Presidential Seal and Abraham Lincoln's initials - embedded in the center of a silver bullet flashdrive. Wonders of the modern promotional world. Then when I went online, I found the piece already up, so here's the embed...

There's just something REALLY inherently funny about hearing the terms "Abraham Lincoln" & "Vampire Hunter" together. But I want to see this.

I bought the book thinking it would be funny and tongue in cheek....

but it's played surprisingly straight considering the outrageous concept. I'd recommend it though. I'll withhold judgement on the film until I've seen it.

chuck_tx, if Democrats are bloodsucking Vampires then Republicans are brain-eating zombies

Pretty apt analogy.
I can live with that.
Liberals are bleeding hearts.
And conservatives are brain dead. -
I've read the book and absolutely loved it. So far from the trailer it's starting to feel like the book on screen. Here's hoping they don't trail too far from the book like they are doing with World War Z.

Has the most insane eye for action and coolness from all the directors working today. This alone makes me excited for this film. Some of the scenes in Wanted and Night- and Daywatch are awe inspiring. Say what you will about his films as a whole but to me just his style alone gets my ass in the seat opening day!

I am stunned by how that completely made me want to watch this movie...

... on netflix.

Go watch fucking INDEPENDENCE DAY! Audiences have already seen a president kill the shit out of some things to save the world. They should be ashamed for releasing a featurette with such glaring factual errors.

Several people commented at the last talkback about the Washington monument not being completed until the 1880's.
It looks like in this featurette that there is a scene of a tall white Washington monument-like structure falling to the ground (with Abe dodging it).

Between this Abey Lincoln Vamp Slayer crap, and the YouTube talking dog movie announcement
by lv_426
I think the often repeated phrase that -- Hollywood is dead! -- has finally come true. Oh sure they'll continue making films and making money from all these new shit films, but creatively they are deader than Death Valley sun-baked roadkill.
I'm calling it.
Victim's name: Hollywood Cinema
Time of death: 1:40pm, Feb. 15th, 2012
Cause of death: mental retardation of the creative lobe, brought on by years of abuse from unimaginative remakes, reboots, prequels, unnecessary sequels, board game and toy adaptations, Bayhem, Bat nipples, Lucas syndrome, and finally... Abe Lincoln, vampires, and a talking dog from YouTube. -
Looks like a bunch of liberals ripping History.
The scenes are soo stupid.
Leave Abraham Lincoln alone and go watch a Quintin Tarentino movie to satisfy your 10 yr old mentality.
