Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. We've known that Jolie was circling a live-action Maleficent tale for Disney, but while in Berlin she not only confirmed her involvement but also let slip that it could very well be her next film.
Jolie is kinda perfectly fit for the role, no? Maleficent is one of Disney's most iconic villains. It sounds like the take on the character is a little more in line with Wicked, which makes us have a bit of sympathy for the big bad, but I"d kind of love it if Jolie was just the cruel, heart-less evil monster the whole movie and the rest of it was about people trying to survive her. But maybe that's just me.
Avatar, Alice in Wonderland and Oz the Great and Powerful art director Robert Stromberg will be taking directorial duties on the project, another choice seemingly tailor made for the property.
So, that's the news, per Hollywood Reporter. Thoughts?
