Hello ladies and gentlemen, Muldoon here with a bit of casting news via the lovely group at Slash Film. Disney's been kicking around a reboot/revamp/reimaging of SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARVES for a long while now and has had an incredible list of talented men and women involved with a draft churned out by Michael Chabon. According to the Slash Film article, when Universal (SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN) and Relativity Media (MIRROR, MIRROR) both kicked their own versions of the fable off, the project lost momentum. Honestly, how many versions of this thing can we handle?
With Hollywood's creative genius focused on unnecessary reboots, sequels to films no one asked for, and films based on boardgames that have jack all to do with the actual toy product starring pop stars at least this flick's got a talented young woman who can carry a film involved. As the title suggests, Saorirse Ronan (HANNA) is in talks to play the lead in THE ORDER OF THE SEVEN. This version however is Snow White minus what exactly makes Snow White Snow White... It's a martial arts flick. You read that correctly - their angle is "Let's make a SNOW WHITE film, but let's ignore the story altogether and make it an action film with martial arts." I can't help it, my utter skepticism at the onslaught of SNOW WHITE we are about to endure might have me sounding a bit jaded, but I am a fan of Ronan - so I'm hopeful. What about you guys and gals?
