Does ‘SNL’ Rhyme With ‘Deschanel’?? Learn Which SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE Vet Hosts After Sexy Zooey!!
Look! Press release!
SNL ALUM MAYA RUDOLPH RETURNS TO SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE AS HOST ON FEBRUARY 18 WITH MUSICAL GUEST SLEIGH BELLSNew York, NY – February 8, 2012 – Maya Rudolph returns to her SNL roots as host on February 18th. The SNL alum, known for her memorable impressions and uproarious characters, currently stars in the NBC sitcom “Up All Night” alongside Will Arnett and Christina Applegate. Rudolph was last seen in the Golden Globe nominated best film, “Bridesmaids.”
Sleigh Bells will make their network television debut on SNL. The Brooklyn duo quickly earned the adoration of critics with their debut album in 2010, “Treats,” ending up on over 150 “Best-Of” lists for that year. Their newest album, “Reign of Terror,” will be released on February 21.
"Saturday Night Live" is produced in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.
My favorite bit from last week was Spike TV’s “Downton Abbey”:

So we could see Zooey through the whole damn show.
-
Though the new single isn't their best track, treats was a fun dark pop record. Looking forward to this
-
...but I would bang the crap out of her.
-
I'm pretty sure I've had a couple of laughs in the 20+ years since that aired. I can't lie.
-
She's an okay actress. I might watch her tonight, but the only reason I watch the new girl is for her roommates. The roommates are easily the funniest part of the show. The stuff with Zooey kinda falls flat a lot of times IMO.
-
Cuse it's definitely one of the two .... Still quite cute, just saying.
-
love that girl... how can you not
-
Can't even keep the camera on the person actually speaking most of the time.
-
Come on, NBC. Show some love for a show that needs it. Guest host Joel McHale or Allison Brie with musical guest Childish Gambino.
-
Jesus, think about that for a minute. Four decades of crap. This is unprecedented in entertainment history.
-
than your sophomore year of high school..." I can't remember where I read that, but it's pretty-much true.
-
or something original... if its something original, then boo...
-
From incredibly hot to homely and hideous!
-
...It's Zooey. Or as I call her, "Small boobed Katy Perry who sings like Fozzie Bear".
-
Maya 'my dad is rich and connected' Rudolph is the worst SNL cast member ever. She's anti-funny. This other dumb bitch must have sucked off someone important or she's secretly the daughter of a rich guy too because nobody outside of NYC and LA knows who the fuck she is.

i started watching Downton Abbey... holy fuck this show is great!
by antonphd
-
I really dont see it at all. Zoey is much hotter
-
Seeing comments like this "SNL hasn't been funny for 40 years"... Right bull shit. If that's the case why would you care? Why click on this link and post? People who write these comments either A)Haven't even watched the show but just thing it's "trendy" to write bull shit like that or B) Watch it all the time but are tired of their parents grounding them so they get mad on sites like this. Grow the fuck up. New Girl is great and the roommates are the WORST part. Can't stand that fucking guy Schmidt... But Zooey balances that shit out.
-
I happened upon one of their videos on YouTube singing a cover of a song I like. It was good until she starting rapping.
-
I am sure about this.
-
Always loved that. I'd watch Zooey try on shoes...so sue me. I have to agree with the above post that New Girl is decent in spite of the roommates.

It would take balls of steel to do a Whitney Houston sketch next week
by thelordofhell
So I guess we're not going to see one
-
She's ditched the padding lately so you can clearly see her only redeeming feature was an illusion.
-
The great thing about the Sinatra sketch was that it was funny and what was said was true, lol. I remember my parents coming home from Vegas years ago and going on and on and on about seeing Foxx and how he was the most vulgar comedian they had ever heard.

SLEIGH BELLS KICKS FUCKING ASS AND I MAKE SEX WITH ALEXIS KRAUSS!
by AzulTool
-
...the return of Wake Up Wakefield, the one recurring sketch actually worthy of a big screen venture. Can't wait.
-
Luther Campbell: Be honest, I don't care about the head. I like the butt. Frank Sinatra: I hear you, baby, loud and clear. Forget the head. Put a bag over it and do your business! Am I right, Steve and Eydie? RIP, Phil
-
A time where Phil Hartman was alive, Mike Myers was funny, Sting had charisma, Jan Hooks was fuckable, Victoria Jackson was sane, faggot was uttered without apology, the skits ran two minutes too long, and overeducated Jewish writers with no life experience beyond Harvard set up the one black cast member to look stupid. Well, some things never change.
-
for sayin katy pads it up. google katy perry see thru and tell me how small her boobs are then
-
Brice de Nice on SNL! Ridiculous!

This is a joke, right? That's really Kristen Wiig, right? LOL Good God...
-
Hader's Clint Eastwood is epic! Pizza, Pizza!
-
Feb. 11, 2012, 11:09 p.m. CST
Yeah. Ep is pretty good. Did a double take on the Piers Morgan one. Thought Zooey was Katy Perry for a second
by cookepuss
Trippy how ZD looks like a less boobtacular KP.
-
and with that guy from "The Artist." Clever, funny, and cool.
-
And he has more hair than when he hosted 20 years ago!

Whatshisface Sandberg doesn't sound a damn thing like Cage
by Triple_J_72
-
Abby Elliot did a great job. Taran whatshisname didn't get Cera's voice or look at all, but captured his demeanor.
-
I do believe.
-
Was the crab sketch. Other than that, I concur - by far the best of the season.
-
musical guest has a very Dee-Lite vibe to it
-
Only a couple of dull skits (Crabs anyone?), but the rest was incredibly funny! The Clint Eastwood ads and the quirky girls being the big standouts.
-
but up until then it was really good.
-
That last one was a stinker!...
-
Feb. 12, 2012, 12:01 a.m. CST
It hasn't been that great of a show. Fucking mediocre comedy.
by Stereotypical Evil Archer
If this is the best of the year, then this has to be one of the worst seasons. But that was a sexy nighty Zooey was wearing on the outro! Yep, best episode of the year!
-
That was a good ep? Best of the season!? What??? It was fucking dreadful outside of the Eastwood bits. Horrible host, and yet another head scratcher of a musical guest. Last sketch was shit, the crab sketch dragged on forever with the lamest ending possible (loved the chick in the audience giving that embarrassed laugh), Quirky Girls was awful other than whatshisface's Cera impression....but nowhere near as dreadful as the talk too fast sketch....however, I was pleasantly surprised at the set design on that one. Combine that with Nic Cage looking as if he didn't want to be there and yet another lame installment of the French kids, it was the most flipworthy installment I've seen in awhile. Fallon's installment is still the season's best. Tonight didn't even come close.

Should have shown a Whitney Houston performance instead of the filler end sketch.
by Flim Springfield
-
funny.
-
But I love 40s films. Why I oughta!
-
Eerie that Whitney Houston dies the week before Rudolph hosts since that was one of the funnier impressions she did.
-
So, if I understand your post correctly, you didn't even watch it? Yet, you know it was pathetic and crap. Wow... I hope you're not counting on people giving you a chance in life, because...
-
Probably the best of the year, with only 1 or 2 clunkers.(never really give a shit about the musical guest) The Clint Eastwood bit being the highlight. Overall this year has been much better than last year IMO.
-
is that Zooey gives me bone. She's really quite enchanting.
-
though I fell asleep during the first musical performance
-
the worst thing about New Girl is neither the roommates, nor ZD, but Justin Long. the show started out with a mild level of charm and then just sank into stale RomCom buffet. The guy hit his peak with a 2 minute bit from Idiocracy.
-

Abby Elliott should just take over all of Zooey's roles from now on
by jules windex
She's funnier, way cuter, and couldn't possibly be as self-indulgently faux quirky as the real Zooey.

When Zooey pulls that tar-like ratty hair out of her face
by jimbojones123
She is a knockout. But her shtick is becoming more overwhelming. Quirky is fine. But she's turned it full on stupid.
-
Justin Long's stint on New Girl was like 3 episodes, hardly a sign of devolving into standard romcom (though I hope the show is smart enough to avoid having Zooey hook-up with the one roommate, which it seems to hint at every now and then, that would be a pretty shallow, generic choice). Anyways, I found this week's SNL watchable, definitely worse episodes, definitely better, nothing from this week, aside from the ads, is going to be memorable, I'd rank it as just OK. I think it gets launched into the "best of the year" category by some folks here because it was an OK show + Zooey, rather then because it was an actual good show.

My sophomore year of HS would have been the Randy Quaid/Terry Sweeney year
by hst666
so that does not exactly hold up for me. The previous year's all start season was good and the following seasons quickly got better, but the season that aired when I was a sophomore was shit. Young Ones rreruns were killing it on MTV at the time though.
-
Romney opening, Eastwood, quirky girls, olden days letter corrspondence, and french kids sketches were great. I believe we are all in agreement that the Crabs sketch was awful and way too long. Fast talking sketch was kind of dull too.
-
Feb. 13, 2012, 9:19 a.m. CST
if you watch a lot old old movies, you realize how well Sudeikis and Wigg actually capture the cadence, tone and delivery even body language of that outdated acting style.
by Ingeld
Plus they never gave the impression they were reading cue cards. It may not have been a knee slapper, but it really highlighted their talents. It was my favorite skit of the show.
-
...will she be doing any of her Whitney Houston impersonations?
-
I doubt Maya Rudolph is that stupid. As to Zooey, her moronic new show in which she surrounded herself with douchebag guys cured me of my previously unending love for her.
