Check out Colin Farrell in these new pics from SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS
Hello ladies and gentlemen, Muldoon here back from safari with pics via ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY from Martin (IN BRUGES) McDonagh's SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS. The flick revolves around a gangster (Woody "RAMPART IAMA" Harrelson) who goes ballistic when his dog is stolen by an out of work actor (Sam Rockwell) and a professional dog thief (Christopher Walken). Colin Farrell plays a screenwriter who gets entangled in the situation after he tries to help his pal, the actor, out.
The flick also stars Abbie Cornish, Olga Kurylenko, Tom Waits, and Gabourey Sidibe and hits screens this fall.

Quirky,Kooky..

I still cannot believe how popular that film was. Most Irish people hated it yet the rest of the world thought it was great. The same goes for The Guard.
-
That's why I come here. I can get enough of 'em.
-
I am happy.
-
Yeah, that's why I want to see this.
-
I like Things to do in Denver When You're Dead. Boat drinks.

How does Colin Ferrell keep getting "A-list" Lead Roles?
by Jack Desmondi
Don't get me wrong, he's a solid actor--but all his major flicks that he actually starred in: S.W.A.T., The New World, Alexander the Great, Fright Night (remake), Miami Vice, the list goes on and on were either disappointments or outright bombs.
-
just sayin...
-
use your imagination.......
-
Gabourey Sidibe....she was on a chat show and came across as really funny (c'mon you know why)....Hollywood WILL make her lose that weight then her 15mins will be extended for a bit before she is replaced by someone else who is.....curiously different
-
Was Thiery Henry involved in the production somehow?
-
Irish hate In Bruges and the Guard?Because you can speak for every Irish person, right? Did you and your friends not like it or something? So the Irish just hate it? Both of those films are fantastic on many levels, it's like 90's Tarantino and David Mamet having an Irish baby.
-
Well for one Colin Farrell was seen as an utter twat till he grew up a bit and stopped trying to hard to be a "hell raiser". He also ramped his Dublin accent up to seem more hard and working class when in fact he's from Castle Knock a nice middle class area. Also In Bruges just baffled alot of us over here. Was it a comedy? A drama? A bit of both. The bit with the fat American tourist? Sweet Jesus I was never so embarrassed. Dreadful script too. That bit with Gleeson crawling on his belly to the strains of Luke Kelly singing Raglan Road, what the fuck was that supposed to be? The Guard was also absolutely shite. A Paddyfest for the foreigner market. Ah sure look at the crazy paddies out there in the country. Father Ted did this far better 15 years ago.
-
With this cast and director, I will most definitely see this. Let's hope he can work in some little people in this too. Little people make movies better.
-
No. I didn't make it up. As I said alot of us don't get the hype around The Guard as its just not that good but In Bruges was a baffling experience altogether. I'm absolutely sure you loved it and thought it was great, I can only attest to the opinion of most people I know who thought it was a dreadful fuckin thing altogether. I'm sure many Irish people would disagree with me but an awful lot would agree also

Don't listen to baronvonpenguin, Irish people love it, it's just Dublin people that don't...
by FreeBeer
...I'm from Ireland by the way. The film got rave reviews over here and has a massive fan base. Most Dublin people I know dislike it because they think it portrays them in a negative light. Well, whatever, we outside observes can tell you do actually speak and behave like that, sorry, but you do. Maybe you guys don't see it, like when you record yourself speaking and listen to it an go "What the fuck, that's not me, that's some asshole." I KNOW people like the In Bruges boys, if anything, I think Fiennes portrayal as a British gangster was far more steriotypical and over the top (though no less brilliant for it). In Bruges was brilliant, and in my opinion, possibly the best Irish film since My Left Foot.

WOW! thanks Baron....that was a very well said, but to be honest

I only ask the question to set up the Thierry Henry joke. whichs seems to have fallen flat, but i understand now why the irish dont like that movie, How exactly to the irish see BONO...Great but kinda douche-y like americans?
-
read this awhile back and loved I'm a big fan of McDonagh and this script was a real fun read which i think will translate to the screen really well!

It should be another classic.

Did we care what the Aussies thought of "The Dark Knight?"
-
Laughed more watching that movie than in any other comedy from Hollywood. I'm looking at you Hangover-2. I wasted a free red-box rental on that one.
-
Feb. 9, 2012, 12:27 p.m. CST
Why would we care what the aussies thought of the dark knight (other than heath being an aussie) what possible connection do they have
by gus
-
Actually lots of Irish people love both. Including filthy Dubs. You see what you've done there is try to claim authority that you don't have. I've met people that don't like both films and I've met people that do. Or who just like one. And I've yet to encounter evidence of mass derision for either.
-
Yeah, my point exactly, so what if Farrell is Irish, why does that give the Irish some great insight into judging "In Bruges." Like I said, who gives a fuck what the Irish think?
-
But that would again be like saying what to the Brits think of "The Dark Knight" cuz there were so many Brits in it? Who cares?
-
Yes, you have me there. I'll go and hide under this pile of coats for a while. As I've said already, I'm sure plenty of Irish people love both but I'm pretty sure In Bruges is seen for the turkey it is. Why are you so sensitive about this anyhoo? It doesnt matter really does it? Anyway McDonagh isn't Irish and I'm from Athlone not Dublin.

I'm from Ireland, and I thoroughly loved both IN BRUGES and THE GUARD. Everyone I've talked to about them has been pretty positive too. Must be a Dublin thing.
-
That's it.
-
If you're not impressed by the synopsis above, I can assure you that the film is a lot more unconventional as it may seem. It deals with multiple stories within stories, and they relate in some unexpected ways. (To say more would give it away.) The second half also verges into somewhat metafictional territory; there's a definite Charlie Kaufman influence.
-
That's what the hell you made up, like I said, just because you and your friends didn't doesn't mean most Irish did. Unless somehow you know every Irish person and they all told you personally told you that they hated In Bruges. We are calling you out on making a bullshit claim that most Irish people hated it, when there is no proof whatsoever to back that up.
-
Much more enjoyable than the overhyped "Intermission". Then again, my favourite irish film is the Butcher Boy. Cavan people are underrepresented in Hollywood.
-
I stand by what I said. If you're Irish (and Christ help you if you are) and you go around quoting lines from In Bruges you're in a minority, you're also a fuckin idiot. This is my last entry on this shitefest. Youporn is a calling...

SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS will be just as funny as IN BRUGES, if you like that type of humour.

There's a joke about the paternity of one of the main characters. I hadn't laughed that hard in months.
-
Where does one get training for such a thing? Now a professional kidnapper who's asked to 'kidnap' a dog by someone with enough money to be taken seriously? I can see some potential with that...although wasn't that already done in those 'Benji' movies?
-
Can't wait! In Bruges was also amazing and Woody Harrelson + Christopher Walken sounds like to much insanity! Sam Rockwell is also a solid actor.
-
You Are A Midlands Tool So FUCK YOURSELF! In Bruges was a cracking film, the reviews bear that opinion out so it's not just an isolated cult thing. Your from Athlone, working in Dublin, why don't you fuck off back there, sh1tehawk! Colin Farrell used In Bruges to rekindle his career which had kinda rolled to a slow crawl after turkeys like SWAT and Miami Vice. Now he's in the likes of Fright Night and The Way Back. Most of my mates who saw In Bruges thought it was great, so I don't know who the fuck you are speaking for, perhaps it's just you and the myriad mates you have made up, in your dense bog hopping head. Give us all a rest an crawl on home to Mammy for some bacon and cabbage and some longing looks at photos of your cousins.... Tool! Signed.. An affectionate Dub
-
I saw it with my dad and my brother-in-law over Christmas break in 2008. None of us really knew what it was about or anything, and we unanimously loved it. Its actually become a bit of an unorthodox holiday tradition for the 3 of us to sit down and watch the DVD over some scotch. Eagerly awaiting McDonagh's next film, especially with that insane cast. Go fuck yourself, Mickey Rourke.
-
Rest assured. It's meta, ultra-violent, hilarious and bug-nuts crazy.

If so...all you commies should love it.

What movie did you see? Because In Bruges poked fun at everyone. Brits. Canadians. Belgians. But you cry because your fat American ass gets called out for being fat American? Grow a pair of balls, faggot.
-
and the guard was patchy. the guard is the most successful irish film of this decade. 4 million euro. gleeson was the best thing in in bruges by an utter mile. farrell was utterly charming as the butter would melt in gangster. in bruges went off the rails when they introduced that story plot about film crew and it never recovered... The scene with gleeson and Cheedle and the fbi briefing is absolutely hilarious.
-
is absolutely outstanding. one of the funniest short films you ever likely to see.

Here in Laois (Ireland's infected bellybutton) I and most everyone I know are unanimous in our love and constant quoting of this absolute peach of a film. Modern classic if ever I saw one, takes you on a mood swing and never lets you off (although I like that malarkey, hi Mr. Bungle!) until the gut wrenching climax. It ran the gamut of everything I like in a film until I was exhausted when the thing was over. Anyway, don't you dare speak for all of us like that, it makes you sound like a pig shat in your head.
-
Was talking about In Bruges there. The Guard is all kinds of deadly aswell, fantastic script. Gleeson is the shiznit.

I know you all can't go to New Zealand but come on...

There's big money in dogs, especially pure breeds and fighting dogs. My sister had her Staffy stolen by what the police assumed to be a professional ring, stealing dogs for fighting. </p> </p> Breaks my heart to think of poor Sampson being used like that. Bastards.
-
In Bruges had some of the best use of swearing in a film for aeons. So the Irish are indifferent on average to In Bruges. Any Belgians want to weigh in with their opinions? OT: Cast and plot sounds like genius to me. Who needs Mickey Rourke!
-
I know who you are

Reminds me of first year in GMIT.

Does your American vagina hurt or something? Why so sensitive about one little scene about some fat Americans from In Bruges?

to tell stories. all of the most talented people like Gary hynes come from the country. namely galway. the mcdonagh brothers understand that territory. Even though they are both english they were born into an irish family that grew up in the west of ireland. and holidayed here also. There is something about galway it has a buzz or a vibe about it which doesnt exist anywhere else. I know of a few friends who have been there and they say always come back to dublin re energized. and then there is quietness of the burren in co. clare and connemara.

Could be really funny.
