The Return Of Will Ferrell, Beer Salesman!
Beaks here...
A few months ago, Will Ferrell turned up on Wisconsin television selling the sweet, sickening swill that is Old Milwaukee. Now he's back with two new beer ads. The first is a spot for the fictional Scorpion Beer, which is evidently featured in Ferrell's upcoming big-screen telenova, CASA DE MI PADRE (in theaters March 16th). Check it out.
And then there's this new spot for Old Milwaukee, which only aired in Nebraska:
Now go enjoy something cold and refreshing.

How's that Costco membership working out for you?

Only worse
-
It's fucking weird. Sometimes it will reset five times in one day. Then it will go two weeks without reseting, then go back to five times in one day.
I think I got it at target. -
I'm being serious. Don't they feel the need to try anymore??

FACT: if you don't think Will Ferrell is funny, you have no soul.
by uncle pooky

It's like a bunch of producers sat around and one was like "How about ole Willy Ferrell as a cowboy, yuck yuck, that sure would be funny and we can get that guy from that ole Napoleon Dynamite movie, yuck yuck, man that's just puuuuure gold!"

Say what you will, but Anchorman is one of the funniest, most quotable
by openthepodbaydoorshal
comedies of the past ten years. Sure Ferrell coasts a lot, but you got gotta admit Anchorman has the goods (maybe Ferrell was hungrier back then...).
-
My two cents.
-
He's just not funny anymore, at all.

Comedians have a short shelf life...when they go to film it signals the end..
by conspiracy
The minute a comedian puts his act into a movie it is the beginning of ever diminishing returns...their first 2..maybe 3 films are ok...then it is all bad as by that time we've seen everything they have to give.
Unless you're Adam Sandler....that fucker hasn't been funny since Chris Farley died. -
To steal from Creepythinman loser. But in this case it's true.
-
but his act is wearing thin. i go see every movie because i know there is genius in there somewhere, just like i went to every new steve martin, and mel brooks film.....but none of those guys has done anything worth while in a long time

Ferrell is an American Treasure, you pieces of rancid septum.
by behemoth
"In my plums."
That's all that needs to be said.
You pathetic, joyless, cocoons of ineptitude and worthlessness.
"Make me laugh. Do something for me. Entertain me on my useless journey I call life wherein I do nothing and accomplish nothing. Waaah, waaa, waaaaaaaaa."
Ferrell will judge your souls one day.
You WILL suckle at the lactating corpse of Dom Deloise.

Eventually every comedian gets tired of their own sctick and tries to prove how deep they are
by wrath_of_fett
Jim Carrey- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Steve Martin- Grand Canyon
Will Ferrel- Stranger Than Fiction
John Belushi- Continental Divide
Adam Sandler- Punch Drunk Love
Robin Williams- One Hour Photo
....and as you can see, it usually works out pretty well.

No idea. I've only seen his movies.

wrath - I don't get your point. Almost all those films you listed were
by openthepodbaydoorshal
well recieved. Hell, Spotless Mind won the Oscar for best original screenplay. And what about Carrey's work in The Truman Show or Man In The Moon (an overlooked brilliant performance as Andy Kaufman)?
Or is box office your only criteria? -
The empty headed smile he gives to the camera after tasting CLEAR GRAVY.

openthepodbaydoorshal..I think Wrath was making a point on my post..
by conspiracy
about how the minute a comedian starts making films it is an ever diminishing return. The reason I say that is they don't get the movie offers until they have reached the Zenith of their popularity.
And his point in a way affirms my hypothesis...they simply run out of new, funny, ideas and we eventually grow bored of them. They are forced to branch out of they can...
but I'll never watch Adam Sandler in anything...the guy is poison to my eyes since right after his highpoint of Hurlihy boy. Bad actor, not funny. -
I've seen it. Because that movie is fucking hilarious. Elf is also a wonderful performance. I won't speak on the others as it comes to opinion, but those two movies are comedy gold...so stop being so fucking "cool and over it" It's okay to admit the guy has been hilarious in the past.
And I didn't even mention his run on SNL. -
Feb 06, 2012 3:33:15 PM CST
At what point in his next film will Will Ferrell run around in his underwear?
by conspiracy
You could almost make a betting game out of it.
-
You people suck the fun out of everything. Hey, here's a crazy idea: if someone puts up some videos of a comedian you don't like, don't fucking watch them!
But no, of course you have to sit through both, miserable all the way, just so you can shit all over them and act superior to anyone who doesn't have your sophisticated-ass comic sensibility.
Do you guys also intentionally go to restaurants and order food you hate, just so you can complain loudly and ruin everyone else's meal? Get hit by a car. -
admit the guy has been hilarious in the past.

Holy. Fuck. What the Hell has happened to Chuck "Fucking" Norris???
by djeagles11
http://popwatch.ew.com/2012/02/06/chuck-norris-newt-gingrich-endorsement/
First demanding "The Expendables 2" be PG-13, now he is endorsing, Newt Gingrich???? What the FUCK?
Doesn't make any sense to me.
Me thinks Norris is going a tad senile in his old age. Gingrich is a slimeball, yet Norris is worrying about a films rating????
Jesus Christ, the End Of The World is coming... -

Funny = Will Ferrell walking through a wheat field in slow motion for 30 seconds then getting cut off before he delivers the advertisment!

My favorite Will Ferrell is the Christmas baby Will Ferrell
by smartacus
That's just me though.
-
I always hated Will Ferrell and never understood why anyone thought he was funny.
Then he did that skit after 9/11 about a businessman going to work in a red white and blue diaper. When people complained, he freaked the fuck out and told them not to impede his patriotism. Not only hilarious, but completely fucking accurate!
Then there was the cow bell skit. Just simple, beautiful, and abso-fucking-lutely hilarious!
By that point I was starting to pay attention and hoping he was finding out how to do comedy the right way instead of just running around naked and mugging at the camera like a retarded chimp.
Once he broke into films, unfortunately, it was the same old schtick for the most part. Although I did like that basketball one. Semi-Pro, that was it's name.
Then he did Stranger Than Fiction, and just like with Sandler's Punch Drunk Love, I became a fan.
I still think Anchorman is incredibly dumb and so random it's not funny at all. Same with most of his movies. Talladega Nights had one funny scene, when he was praying to baby Jesus in his golden diaper.
Other than that I adore Stepbrothers. BOATS 'N HOS! -

The Old Milwaukee commercial is funny. And it's a beer that can get you drunk.
by stereotypical evil archer
Fucking princesses.
-
... in a straight, hetero-manly way, obviously. Also in a gay way.
Cracks me up when he's being funny (in everything, seriously), and impresses me when playing it straight (thought Everything Must Go was particularly terrific). Both of the above ads are funny as fuck. Can't wait for CASA DE MI PADRE. -
But the dialog quoting, beer bonging, date rapin frat brah's are making it harder and harder to admit in public.

Will Farrel is forever funny to me because of wedding crashers
by redbull_werewolf
Mom, the meatloaf...FUCK!
-
Fucking Old School and Semi Pro were hilarious. Someone mentioned his bit in Wedding Crashers, also good stuff. Stranger than Fiction was great.
I actually disliked Anchorman... a lot.
Either way, the guy, like any other comedian has had his hits and misses. And his hits have been very good for the most part. -
those two ads are funny. Love the bad special effects in Scorpion beer and the ending is perfect in the second one.
-
Assholes.
-
For my money, thnat is his best film. Hope they make a sequel.
-
piece of reeking shit from the biggest no-talent to come out of SNL since Chevy Chase.
-
Whenever you throw up a post shitting on some actor, director, movie, whatever... you then have to provide a counter example of an actor, director, or movie that you hold in high regard.
For example: "Will Ferrell is a shittard because he is popular, but I quite enjoy the catty brit-musings of Russell Brand!"
Or: "Attack the Block was completely unbelievable, because the leader of a gang would never be black in this day and age... for a more realistic view on proper racial dynamics, check out the 1975 film 'Mandingo'."
See, now your getting yourself out there a little bit, putting your supposedly excellent tastes on the table for discussion, rather than just the old 'I hate this, I hate that' routine prevalent in young pussies throughout the past 50 years, justified by nothing but insecurity.
Unless you're just trolling... in which case I admire your dedication.

No one has mentioned that Will Farrell is an asshole that no one likes--and is a weirdo in real life.
by jon-snow-dies
He is hilarious though--but I don't understand why people don't bring that up more often. Would make an awesome movie--his bio pic.
-
Anchorman is Ferrell's ONLY good movie. The rest are crap.
-
I agree. I mean, obviously, the point of telling everyone how much you hate something is to make it clear that you're better than anyone who likes that thing. So the shitters should jump at the chance to not only say what they're better than, but also show us that their tastes are lightyears ahead of ours.
Or, more likely, we'd just see that they have terrible taste and they'll look like jackasses. Either way, I support this idea!
