Monty Cristo Gives Us a Peek at WAR OF THE ARROWS

"Monty Cristo" here once again.

The good people at Well Go USA sent me this clip over the weekend. I dream for a world where more people are excited to see movies like this than BATTLESHIP.

Set in the 1600s during the second Chinese invasion of Korea, WAR OF THE ARROWS follows a brother and sister who are orphaned in the film's opening minutes. He's an archer who grows to be as proficient as his father was, she grows into a beautful lady of the court who can stand up for herself when necessary. Following her wedding, which her brother does not fully approve of, their village is raided and she is kidnapped by the evil Qing Chinese. The below clip finds the brother chased by the Evil Imperial Chinese (which is how they're portrayed, not how I feel about the Chinese).

WAR OF THE ARROWS hits Blu-ray and DVD at the end of this month. It is quite good, and worth a look.

The clip comes from a ways into the film, and I consider it very representative of the action throughout. I'll be reviewing the movie and the disc extras as soon as they get a review copy in my hands.

Did I mention that AICN is expanding its coverage of Asian cinema, starting this week?
