After airing only four episodes in the Thursday 10 p.m. timeslot, NBC is yanking “The Firm” and consigning the balance of its 22-episode episode order to 9 p.m. Saturdays.
The old "ER" slot will be filled through the balance of February Sweeps by "Grimm" reruns.
Taking over the the 10 p.m. Thursday slot starting March 1 is “Awake,” the strange and fascinating tale of a cop (the great "Harry Potter" fixture Jason Isaacs) who finds himself transported between two parallel realities following a deadly automotive mishap.
“Awake’s” first episode, scripted by “Lone Star” creator Kyle Killen, is the best broadcast pilot I’ve seen this season.
“The Firm” was getting even worse ratings than “Prime Suspect,” the Maria Bello cop drama that filled the 10 p.m. Thursday slot last autumn.
