Joe Johnston goes low budget for his next film!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I love it when filmmakers test themselves and Rocketeer aside I think it's pretty safe to say that Joe Johnston's best film is October Sky, hardly a huge budget affair.

According to the Heat Vision Blog, Johnston's Captain America follow-up looks to be the small thriller Not Safe For Work, about a paralegal who finds himself trapped at the office with a killer trying to destroy some sensitive files.

The flick is reported to cost less than $3 million. If the script from Adam Mason and Simon Boyes is strong (and I assume it must be if Johnston is dropping down from his $100 million+ budgets to direct it) and they get a great couple of actors then this could turn out to be really fun.

I'd love to see more filmmakers alternate big and small productions. How many years are we going to have to wait for Peter Jackson to make another low budget piece of weirdness? Do you think someone like James Cameron has it in him to do a tight $20 million action flick anymore?

Anyway, that's the word on Johnston and I look forward to seeing how this one develops. You?
