Season two kicks off April Fools Day.

Gotta love Tyrion. He's gonna show his true badassery this season. Also, was that Margaery Tyrell losing her top for good ol' Renly?

I think that, even though I'm basically jumping on the bandwagon, I got involved in this series in just the right way. I waited until like episode 6 and watched all of them in one day, then watched the rest live. After season 1 ended, I read all the books (finished dance with dragons like 4 days ago), so I got into the world visually, had an idea for all the many, many characters as I read, and now everything I pictured in my head while reading is exactly what that looks like. SO great. The scene with Joffrey and the crossbow is perfect. Now I just have to wait...oh, about 5 years for the next book. Shoot me.

Iphone/iPad friendly link? Nothing there for me.

I think they rephrased it a little, but it gets the point across. Glad they included it. Can't wait to see Varys, Tyrion, Bronn, and all of the King's Landing action this season. And DAVOS, baby!

I'm up through most of book 4, but there is still one book left of spoilers. I'm not out of the woods quite yet. There are a few ppl on here who love to throw spoilers from book 5. If you read the wrong spoilers, it will quite literally ruin good chunks of the show/story for you. Seriously. Go.
Jan. 29, 2012, 10:47 p.m. CST
Not a huge fantasy fan, had read nothing of Martin, heard positive things from friends over the years. Watched Season 1 "cold" in 3 days over Xmas. A glorious surprise: color me sold, hooked, done. Adult entertainment in the true sense. Avoiding TBs about it from now on. Want to know NOTHING and just let it batter me.

I am almost done with 'A Clash of Kings' but I've learned to stay away from any forums regarding the show. I had one major spoiler given away about book 5 involving one of my favorite characters. So I'm just leaving this message, and not returning to this TB! Hopefully.. haha Anyways, the show is great, the books are fantastic. I'm flying through them really. The show is damn honest to the source material and I like the things they add in that isn't in the book. Can't wait to see Stannis and Davos come to life.
Jan. 29, 2012, 11:03 p.m. CST
Out of the 5 books in the series thus far, the 3rd one is the best, but I certainly enjoyed the second the most--in no small part thanks to Tyrion, since he gets a lot more exposure in this particular novel. Secretly, I sometimes wish that Martin would just go the Bryan Singer route and make the series "Tyrion and the Song of Ice and Fire" rather than the plain vanilla "Song of Ice and Fire." It'd certainly do a lot to streamline the series and do away with some of the more extraneous bits. Although you'd miss out on some awesome stuff from other characters' perspectives. Here's hoping that S2 is even better than S1. Maybe the show will get a bigger budget this time around so they can show battles properly.

Like....regardless of the fact that this is an incredible show....that's my favorite TV trailer in quite some time.
Jan. 29, 2012, 11:05 p.m. CST
I was just thinking the other day that I couldn't wait to see the scene with the riddle.

Hooray for Television for Adults! Since movies are only made for 12-14 year olds anymore (Fuck you Stallone), at least HBO makes stuff for people who can follow a story at a high school level.
Jan. 30, 2012, 12:34 a.m. CST
So much great acting on this show, including the children (Arya and Joffrey specifically).
Jan. 30, 2012, 1:13 a.m. CST
Dream casting for me, especially after Black Death.
Jan. 30, 2012, 1:28 a.m. CST
why aren't you watching it?

And better than any movie series with the initial LOTR, HP or SW.
Jan. 30, 2012, 2:12 a.m. CST
The books are starting to suck. Hated the last 2. Only people alive that I still care about and enjoy reading about by the end of the last book are Tirion and Arya. Oh and Patchface. I fucking love Patchface. I know I know oh oh oh.
Jan. 30, 2012, 2:44 a.m. CST
...I'm sure that any deficiencies in the novels will be ironed out in the script... that's the adaptation game.
Jan. 30, 2012, 3:05 a.m. CST
It makes his character x1000 better.

She is my absolute favourite character in any Tv series. Cannot wait for this. Brilliant trailer.

I refuse to believe that Jon is dead at the end of ADWD. He fades out, but that does NOT mean he is dead. I'm betting on the fact that Martin knows we know he kills major characters to have us thinking that Jon is dead when he is not dead. He kind of did the same thing with Theon and Theon is alive. I also see a narrative parallel in the stories of Theon and Jon. Theon fights to try to become a king and has a hard time and Jon doesn't want to be one, but seems to be on his way to becoming one despite his wants.
Jan. 30, 2012, 8:12 a.m. CST
Give us some Strong Belwas! Conelith Hill is fantastic though.

I've read all the books and love them. So wish I had HBO. I've been waiting MONTHS for the blu-rays to come out and am still waiting . . .
Jan. 30, 2012, 9:11 a.m. CST
Cant wait to see her as Melisandre
Jan. 30, 2012, 9:30 a.m. CST
I think Jons body is definitely dead, but he'll be a full-on Warg with Ghost now. The last line was "he never felt the fourth knife, only the cold..." I think he jumped over to ghost. gonna get interesting from here on out methinks...
Jan. 30, 2012, 9:32 a.m. CST
Why the fuck did Martin kill off every Stark! I won't finish this series.
Jan. 30, 2012, 9:43 a.m. CST
Now it has been six months since I read book 5, but I seem to remember 3.5 Starks still alive (4.5 if you include Jon) by the end of that book....
Jan. 30, 2012, 9:51 a.m. CST
That's not a spoiler because all of the starks are not dead. at all. just because they weren't so prominent in the last two books doesn't mean they are dead. In fact, more are still alive than dead, basically all the kids (minus 1) are still alive. You're weird.
Jan. 30, 2012, 9:52 a.m. CST
And the other starks....well, their condition is more complicated...but not dead exactly. But yea...all the starks are dead. sure, why not.

...has been reading in his dreams. And Crestfallen's dreams define our world. None of you will like book eight...but that's okay, you won't live to read it. Let me tell you about another dream of Crestfallen's....
Jan. 30, 2012, 10:20 a.m. CST
Besides Stannis, Davos, Melisandre and Brienne... we get Ygritte, Quorin Halfhand, Jaqen H'Ghar, Rorge and Biter, the Greyjoy's and their lot, the Boltons, the Reeds (who I think are being pushed to the next season), Craster and his "wives", the Lord O' Bones (who I can't wait to see his armor).
Jan. 30, 2012, 10:58 a.m. CST
I want to watch your show. I want to pay you your due. I however re-FUCKING-fuse to pay a cable provider $100.00 for cable, plus what I owe you to see it. Please put this on V.O.D...or Make HBO go available without tying it to a cable provider and you can have all my money.
Jan. 30, 2012, 11:25 a.m. CST
I love this show! I love the twsit and turns, never read the books but this series definitely forced me to do so. I can't wait for this to start, I just hope this doesn't go the way of Rome or Carnivale due to the large production cost. This show is too good for them not to do the whole series.
Jan. 30, 2012, 11:47 a.m. CST
They never see each other after king's landing in the books. That should be an interesting conversation, though I dunno that she knows how involved he was in Ned's downfall.
Jan. 30, 2012, 11:53 a.m. CST
If you can see Youtube, HBO has put it there too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOzXsqoJhtE
Jan. 30, 2012, 12:27 p.m. CST
My money's on Shae. At least she gets to continue to bang Tyrion...
Jan. 30, 2012, 12:54 p.m. CST
Apparently in the show Littlefinger goes to treat with Renly on behalf of Joffery and the seeds of the Tyrell alliance are born. I guess having Catelyn run into him there creates a bit more tension.
Jan. 30, 2012, 1:19 p.m. CST
CGI, CGI, and more CGI.
Jan. 30, 2012, 1:21 p.m. CST
So if this premiere ad turns out to be an elaborate April Fool's joke, I will not find it very fucking funny. Like, at all.
Jan. 30, 2012, 1:30 p.m. CST
I think that may be a trick of editing. The scene with Brienne appears to be in Renly's tent and I'm imagining the Catelyn with dagger is the same scene. I think they cut her against a separate scene of Littlefinger to make it look as though they were in the same scene together.
Jan. 30, 2012, 2:33 p.m. CST
Until GoT, I thought HBO was dead. Winter is coming... in April?
Jan. 30, 2012, 2:40 p.m. CST
I have a feeling it will, but still...I need to see 'Storm of Swords' brought to the screen. That book is filled with unlimited badassery. Trailer was great...only scene that looked kinda weak was Cersei getting rained on in the street. Pictured that completely different, much bigger.
Jan. 30, 2012, 3:34 p.m. CST
Agreed. In fact, I bet that not only is Jon alive, BUT--I'm thinking that he may actually be a Targaryen--Ned's sister, Lyanna & Rhaegar's son, rather than Ned's bastard. It always struck me as VERY out of character for Ned to have sired a bastard because he is SO honorable in the book. Perhaps Jon's TRUE identity is the secret he swore to keep for his dying sister. Either way, Im sure that he will have to ally with Dany & her dragons in order to save the Seven Kingdoms from the REAL threat coming from beyond the Wall. At the pace Martin writes, we should know within a decade or so.

But genderblender promised they would...
Jan. 30, 2012, 5:53 p.m. CST
And yeah I agree about the rating staying strong. I know tons of people that watch this and have read the books since the first season finished...people who usually dismiss fantasy. Christ, my father watched the entire first season twice and he doesn't like anything that isn't Sopranos or Martin Scorsese.
Jan. 31, 2012, 9:50 a.m. CST
Could be greatest drama series ever by the time its done.
Jan. 31, 2012, 12:10 p.m. CST
This is going to be one of those amazing shows that just gets better, with how more epic and wonderful it all becomes. It's one of the only shows that I wait week for week for, it's just so epic and great that you can't miss it.
