JOURNEY 2's latest trailer looks, fun?
Hey folks, Harry here... the first film was a miserable experience. One of those experiences that drove me crazy as I watched it, but now, I'm looking at this trailer - and yeah, I totally want to go on an adventure to THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND and THE LOST CITY OF ATLANTIS with Duane and his dancing pecs. This does look like a fun kids movie, whereas the last one was mostly miserable. But Michael Caine and The Rock ... they give me hope, how about you?

nah. Sorry, but... nah.
Jan. 27, 2012, 12:09 a.m. CST
...maybe. Have a 14 year old kid, so I have an excuse to sit through it and gripe later..
Jan. 27, 2012, 12:22 a.m. CST
Sure, do the kids films too, but what happened to The Rock becoming the next big action star?

One big improvement this movie definitely has over the 1st one is Vanessa Hudgens' sweaty tits. I've never been crazy about her before, but the sweaty jungle look she's sporting in the trailer totally does it for me.

with The Rock in the Whitman role.

Vanessa Hudgens looks mad good in this too. I agree with another TBer above about the Rock. Why I liked Fast Five so much was because he let go and just made an action film. He needs a big franchise action role.

Was there a Journey 1? I'm confused.
Jan. 27, 2012, 2:42 a.m. CST
Journey to the Center of the Earth was the first movie. This one has the same kid, but different characters. This time, he's with his stepdad (Dwayne Johnson) instead of his biological dad (Brendan Fraser). The first was loosely based on a Jules Verne novel, while this one is based on a script about an island that could have inspired Jules Verne to write "Mysterious Island"

But, can you imagine this world in the hands of Spielberg or Donner in the 80's? Take the goonies kids and throw 'em on this Island with better dialogue than "That's the most dangerous part of the ocean!" and you might have something. But no Harry, this is tripe.

saw this over a month ago now. some of the humour was good, some not so much. The 3D and CGI was actually worth it but the plot...pffft. And The Rock was trying to be all paternal and wise. Poor guy.
Jan. 27, 2012, 3:19 a.m. CST
It's Dwayne, not Duane. Also as it's The Dark Knight RISES, not Rising. Oh and that pic of Supes in your other article is a piece of Art, not a production still. I think you need glasses. I don't normally gripe about these things but it's getting worse and worse lately. Do some self checking before posting!!

... this displeases my eyeballs greatly. I am going back to find entertainment on damnyouautocorrect.com for the rest of the evening. Thank you, goodnight.

Actually this does look a lot more fun (or at least watchable) than that spasticated wankpile

this movie is gonna be even worse then its 2 out of 10 proceedor
Jan. 27, 2012, 5:46 a.m. CST
it's outright terrible. There are some pretty effects shots and Atantis is visually stunning (albeit featured for a measly 10 minutes), otherwise it's a complete and utter waste of time. I don't understand how anyone can watch this trailer, cringeworthy 'pec dance' and all, and still maintain any interest in seeing it.
Jan. 27, 2012, 6:11 a.m. CST
It's kids movie, what do you expect. Even Michael Caine is funny, and he seems to have fun in the role. VFX are great, can see that they spent a lot of money for it. Nice touch with the sharks.

Cause I don't believe for a second that the guy who loves Takashi Miike movies and Bruce Campbell gives a shit about this.

Why is there a comma in the title to this article?

That shot of Atlantis, as well as design, looked right out of Uncharted.

Looks Rock...bottom. My nine year old's fave flick is 'Raiders'. Asked him if he'd like to see this. He gave me the 'Spock Eyebrow'. No thanks.

Sure Arnold and Stallone did like maybe 5 kids movies between them but that was after they did all the hard action movies when they were young.

why not. Every movie doesnt have to be an epic masterpiece. This looks fun and worthy of decompressing my brain to for a few hours.

Stood right next to him at a wrasslin' match. Good Lord in Heaven, did he REEK. I mean, seriously, that dude smelled like the stench of Melissa McCarthy's undercarriage after a 1/2 mile fast-walk. I remember saying that at the time, and I didn't even know WHO MELISSA McCARTHY WAS BACK THEN! That's how bad he stunk! Could've been a great action star, though. Not anymore.

Did IQs just drop sharply while I was away? You people are crazy. The man still has plenty of action chops in him. Besides, he doesn't need to be the next Arnold. Who would want to?
Jan. 27, 2012, 11 a.m. CST
Lots of fun for 8 to 12 year olds. That's not a bad thing.
Jan. 27, 2012, 11:30 a.m. CST
Don't get yer hopes up. In other news, I didn't even know there was a JOURNEY 1, let alone a sequel to it. Who the hell was in the first one?
Jan. 27, 2012, 11:39 a.m. CST
Well gee, I don't know. I'm sure finding an action franchise to latch on to couldn't be as fruitful as another Day Care film. He does have the Fast and Furious movies, true but the fish out of water kids movies are getting tiresome. Not that I care. The chicks are making better action movies now anyway.
Jan. 27, 2012, 12:04 p.m. CST
The dude has a BULLET shaped head! Look at his costar's round noggin', then look at the warhead shape
of Duane's brain holder. And Michael Caine costarring with The Rock gives Harry hope? Like they've never been in junk before, right?
Jan. 27, 2012, 12:04 p.m. CST
Brenden Fraiser wasn't fat yet and the floating rock bridge scene was really well done. It was at least as good as the 60's version.
Jan. 27, 2012, 12:04 p.m. CST
this looks like foolishness.
