JOURNEY 2's latest trailer looks, fun?

Published at:  Jan 27, 2012 12:00:04 AM CST

Hey folks, Harry here...  the first film was a miserable experience.   One of those experiences that drove me crazy as I watched it, but now, I'm looking at this trailer - and yeah, I totally want to go on an adventure to THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND and THE LOST CITY OF ATLANTIS with Duane and his dancing pecs.   This does look like a fun kids movie, whereas the last one was mostly miserable.   But Michael Caine and The Rock ...  they give me hope, how about you?

    by anime_nut

One big improvement this movie definitely has over the 1st one is Vanessa Hudgens' sweaty tits. I've never been crazy about her before, but the sweaty jungle look she's sporting in the trailer totally does it for me.

    by myphdisdoom

Vanessa Hudgens looks mad good in this too. I agree with another TBer above about the Rock. Why I liked Fast Five so much was because he let go and just made an action film. He needs a big franchise action role.

Journey to the Center of the Earth was the first movie. This one has the same kid, but different characters. This time, he's with his stepdad (Dwayne Johnson) instead of his biological dad (Brendan Fraser). The first was loosely based on a Jules Verne novel, while this one is based on a script about an island that could have inspired Jules Verne to write "Mysterious Island"

    by rev. artemis prime

But, can you imagine this world in the hands of Spielberg or Donner in the 80's? Take the goonies kids and throw 'em on this Island with better dialogue than "That's the most dangerous part of the ocean!" and you might have something. But no Harry, this is tripe.

    by oneletter

saw this over a month ago now.

some of the humour was good, some not so much. The 3D and CGI was actually worth it but the plot...pffft.

And The Rock was trying to be all paternal and wise. Poor guy.

Vanessa Hudgens is the only reason to even be aware of this pile.

    by michaelbaysrobotballs

The Rock's "dancing pecks" indeed. Says the man who claimed Chris Hemsworth's Thor will make you want to "be Natalie Portman".

Methinks you've got some unresolved issues to work through there, Hare.

    by mrh

It's Dwayne, not Duane. Also as it's The Dark Knight RISES, not Rising. Oh and that pic of Supes in your other article is a piece of Art, not a production still. I think you need glasses. I don't normally gripe about these things but it's getting worse and worse lately. Do some self checking before posting!!

    by damienarends

it's outright terrible. There are some pretty effects shots and Atantis is visually stunning (albeit featured for a measly 10 minutes), otherwise it's a complete and utter waste of time.

I don't understand how anyone can watch this trailer, cringeworthy 'pec dance' and all, and still maintain any interest in seeing it.

It's kids movie, what do you expect. Even Michael Caine is funny, and he seems to have fun in the role. VFX are great, can see that they spent a lot of money for it. Nice touch with the sharks.

Stood right next to him at a wrasslin' match. Good Lord in Heaven, did he REEK. I mean, seriously, that dude smelled like the stench of Melissa McCarthy's undercarriage after a 1/2 mile fast-walk. I remember saying that at the time, and I didn't even know WHO MELISSA McCARTHY WAS BACK THEN! That's how bad he stunk!

Could've been a great action star, though. Not anymore.

Well gee, I don't know. I'm sure finding an action franchise to latch on to couldn't be as fruitful as another Day Care film. He does have the Fast and Furious movies, true but the fish out of water kids movies are getting tiresome. Not that I care. The chicks are making better action movies now anyway.
