Kojak: The Complete Movie Collection includes the 1973 TV-movie “The Marcus Nelson Murders,” written by screenwriter Abby Mann (“Judgment at Nuremberg”); it was Mann’s take on the 1963 Manhattan murders that led the U.S. Supreme Court to institute “Miranda rights” in 1966. The other seven movies were made between 1985 and 1990 subsequent to “Kojak’s” 1978 cancellation.
