I can't wait!
Whatever its rating is, I hope they knock it down to PG or something. Cuz, you know, badassness is awesomer that way...all watered down and whatnot.

Hey Sly, why not add Taylor Lautner to your ensemble while your at it.
by Tikidonkeypunch
The first Ex was a throwback to the hardcore action films that could still get a PG rating with it's blatant tit shot. So the sequel must be a throwback to the watered down, kid friendly bullshit that passes for action flicks these days.
-
I actually like Linkin Park to some degree, but wow, the original soundtrack I heard at TIFF was FAR better.
-
but LOL @ the expendables 2 pic. Jeez, what a shame...............a pg13 shame.
-
Look at our stuntmen getting beaten up. Hollywood stunties won't do this, see? Or this, see? Our guys are desperate for cash, so we bung them a few bob and they'll take a stick to the head! Amazing! Please don't look at our production values, acting or scripts.

My initial impression, from that screening, where I missed easily 30-40 minutes due to napping...

Oh so now it's cool to bash Taylor "The Brave Little Toaster Nose" Lautner? fu

I predict EX2 will be the vanilla to The Raid's tooty-fruity.

And that sums up my impressions from having watched the first clip. Now I shall go watch another one. And I thought Watchmen was brutal...
-
Yup... watched the second clip.

Nice, nice work.

Raid: good to see that hilariously unrealistic, obviously choreographed, somewhat stiff action still exists in film.
by kevred
The editing is just loose enough to see all the little moments where they're moving 'just so' on cue.
-
Aside from the fucking AXE to the SHOULDER! Man, the QCQ in this movie is fucking brutal, I'm totally impressed. The gun stuff, eh, whatever. But that melee combat, damn. Can't wait to see this with a packed crowd.
-
Great poster.
-
Watching two hours of raid-raid-raid to techno music would put me to sleep. Really.
-
Come on, guys. There's a dart coming out of Chuck Norris's gun for goodness' sake!
-
Didn't like the first one and the idea of watching the Depends Action Squad totter through lame fighting sequences while delivering shitty catch phrases makes me ill. On the other hand, can't wait to catch The Raid, looks awesome!
-
and I haven't even seen it. Truly fantastic stuff.
-
from Asian cinema. In fact, any kind of genre. Because they have balls, something American cinema lost it.

Here's an idea, regardless of the rating this piece of shit ultimately receives...
by PotSmokinAlien
Go do something else besides watching peanut-dicked, over-the-hill he-men kill each other.
-
director of A Bittersweet Life and I Saw the Devil.
-
Kim Ji-Woon is a fantastic director, I Saw the Devil should be a must watch film for everyone, very intense and truly to me a work of art. The Good, the Bad, and the Weird is also a great flick. Arnold seems to have the right idea in his comeback, work with talented directors on smaller movies. Arnold's role in EX2 will amount to an extended cameo, he won't take a hit I think on this as he will distance himself from it if it flops based on the rating issue. Stallone's career resurgence is over, IMO, he killed it by selling out on EX2.
-
I never heard of the Raid till this trailer and now I can't wait to see it.
-
He's got Bullet in the Head coming out in a few months, its directed by Walter Hill, and its very R-rated, so I wouldn't say Stallone is really selling out either. But ya, Ex 2 is not looking good right now.
-
...right?
-
Stallone was/is the face of the Expendables and delivering a Pg-13 rating is going to hurt is cred. Had the first Expendables just delivered a PG-13 rating no one would really care about the rating for the sequel, but because they are lowering it for the sequel it makes them look like shit.

This makes me think that, as a species, we're fucked.
-
This is what it took, huh? (And, yup, we are completely fucked as a species. 50 years from now there are gonna be 3 billion more of us on this planet. Biologically speaking, population explosions like the one we're experiencing 100% of the time occur because of the availability of a new resource, and 100% of the time there is as dramatic a decline in the population of a species once it has depleted whatever resource was responsible for the spike. I just hope some of us make it through that downward portion. Even if we don't, though, humans were a pretty fucking rad species while we lasted! Surely one of the most remarkable this planet has ever seen. The dinosaurs themselves aren't shit compared to us... I strongly doubt that life itself will end on Earth, but in the grand scheme of Earth-life's history, humanity really does seem to be gearing up for its curtain call. And yet, amazingly, many of us will be content to spend a few hours of the tail end of our species' existence watching aged, pampered bodybuilders pretend to fight with and kill one another.)
-
There's something about bodies coming apart in explosions of blood, shredded flesh, bone splinters and organs. I can appreciate that. I don't much care for depictions of prolonged pain and suffering but give me a quick, messy death any day. I guess that's kind of getting off to Vivid productions but giving anything with Max Hardcore's cowboy hat-wearing mug on the cover a wide berth.
