Raising Hope and Justified tonight. 2 great shows for very different reasons. Love Elmore, and intelligent comedy.

Unforgettable is growing on me, but...

... I couldn't help but laugh out loud when she jumped up on the hood of a car, then down onto the pavement, and then shot a guy... all while wearing rediculously high healed boots! ABSURD! She looked hot doing it, but it took me way out of the episode. Here's to hoping that they stop doing dumb shite like that.

    White Collar. Glad it's back.

Netflix really needs to add 'Justified' to streaming

    by Kammich

I'm dying to catch on to that show but I haven't seen any of the first two seasons. Same goes for "Archer," which has been absolutely hilarious when I've seen it. Come on, FX, throw a guy a bone. I'm on the "New Girl" wagon. I've harbored a boy-crush on Zooey for years, but honestly, I think shes the weakest part of the show. Its the male roommates that keep me tuning in. They're hilarious. And having it followed by "Raising Hope" doesn't hurt. "Storage Wars" is one of my guilty DVR pleasures. I tape it every Tuesday and then catch it in my downtime later on in the week. No idea why I find it so entertaining.

  • Educated urbanites are either streaming films or, you know, reading.

  • ...the show still ends up being about the inane arguments of a bunch of stupid rednecks who all, whether female or male, act like they're on the rag.

What the fuck? Fix this site already Harry!

    by MrBoinfoint

As I was saying, My gay roommate just moved out today and took his tv with him. That means I no longer have to pretend to like Glee, but it also means that I'm missing New Girl. So please, someone tell me what's going on with New Girl. Describe Zooey's outfits and actions in detail. Slowly. While I cry into my whiskey.

  • I am stunned that such a dull show could top the ratings, but I'm completely incredulous that TWO of those shows could garner the highest ratings. Who the heck watches that garbage? Personally, I don't know anyone with even an average intellect who watches those shows. Obviously, SOMEONE is watching NCIS on Tuesdays. Who is it?

  • Jan. 17, 2012, 10:09 p.m. CST

The Game is by far the best comedy on TV - Period!

That is the beauty of television, it offers different shows for different tastes. Insulting the intelligence of an entire show's viewing audience offers nothing to the debate. One could probably say that the same audience that likes CSI and any other procedural crime drama are the people keeping it atop the ratings. Spend a little less time on shows you hate, and more on those you like.

  • Jan. 18, 2012, 12:10 a.m. CST

Evildeeds, you make a good point about the diversity of tv-watching tastes.

    by I_Love_LanaLang

I'm not surprised by the fact that some people willingly watch sub-par tv programming. It would be abnormal if that didn't happen. What amazes me is that there could be SO MANY people who watch pablum like NCIS that it would top the ratings. You might be right about CSI devotees being the ones who prop up the NCIS ratings. However, those crime procedural dramas are so far from reality that it puzzles me how people can watch them without laughing. I'm not sure if the networks are dumbing down their programming to match the audience, or if the audience is watching dumb programming simply because there isn't anything else available.

If anything, the already good writing just keeps getting sharper. The exchange between Raylin and Boyd is comic gold.

There are many people watching NCIS who are smarter than you.

  • Jan. 18, 2012, 3:42 a.m. CST

    by Bop N Rumble

I think smart people have better things to do in life than watching NCIS.

  • Jan. 18, 2012, 6:53 a.m. CST

    Not enough love for SOUTHLAND!

    by Bodacious_Crumb

Best cop drama since The Wire. Hands down.

Yup, pure comedy gold. Such fun reading. Like my momma always used to say... I respect your right to have fun, but get the fuck out if you can't find a job...

You win yesterday's Prize Sucker Award for responding to the baiting of troll i_love_lanalang. I know it is hard to resist, as what she writes is so entertaining and funny. Have fun.

  • Doesn't the fact that they choose to watch NCIS invalidate your assertion? Why would an intelligent human being watch NCIS? People who enjoy watching paint dry - are they also smart people?

  • Jan. 18, 2012, 9:03 a.m. CST

Bopnrumble, you hit the nail on the head concerning NCIS.

    by I_Love_LanaLang

It's always a pleasant surprise when I come across an intelligent and well-mannered poster in these talkbacks. Unlike certain other posters (who will remain nameless so they don't get their panties in a bunch), you take the time to think before you post. You're a keeper, Bopnrumble!

  • Jan. 18, 2012, 10:09 a.m. CST

Why would an intelligent human being respond to i_love_lanalang

    by Michael Lunney

By mistake. Aww, isn't it sweet, the troll has a new easily entertained toady. Kinda reminds me of Adolph and Eva - true love. The birds are singing sweet songs, clouds have parted and triple rainbows abound. Ahh, the magic is profound today in Simpletown.

    Are we not men?

    by Michael Lunney

    WE are DEVO...

  • Jan. 18, 2012, 10:42 a.m. CST

    by Bop N Rumble

Is there something between you and i_love_lanalang I should know about? You are in such a poetic mood today.

  • Jan. 18, 2012, 11:25 a.m. CST

    by Michael Lunney

Can you see the real me, can ya, can ya? Many more sides to me than your new one-note buddy.. I just speak my mind and have fun as I feel appropos...without trying purposefully to have that fun at other people's expense...

  • Jan. 18, 2012, 12:22 p.m. CST

    by Bop N Rumble

I am glad to see you are developing more than one skill. More people should do that. It will make life more enjoyable.

  • Jan. 18, 2012, 12:43 p.m. CST

    by Michael Lunney

Developing? You are a funny fellow... Have fun saying Yes dear, anything you say dear, to your new bud.... As long as you do not profess to liking anything on TV, you should get to second base really fast... I hope you see that person's contributions here as nothing more than a put-on for unknowing saps, otherwise, I would worry for you that you also don't know how to cover your mouth when sneezing. Be well...

    by Bop N Rumble

Hey, I am not part of your soap series. It's very nice of you to offer me a part in it, but I have to decline. I'd rather not get famous. I don't like giving people autographs.

  • Jan. 18, 2012, 1:07 p.m. CST

    by Michael Lunney

It's your soap now to enjoy as long as you continue to offer your obvious support affection for said trolling. So, enjoy!!! Too late now!!!

  • Jan. 18, 2012, 1:32 p.m. CST

    by Bop N Rumble

Well, thanks a lot. Now I have to start giving autographs to people. I won't sign your glasses though and I won't hook you up with Roseanne Barr. Too late now.

  • Jan. 18, 2012, 2:21 p.m. CST

bopnrumble - at least you are having fun

    by Michael Lunney

But, you got soaped when you felt the urge to say this: I think smart people have better things to do in life than watching NCIS. I had nothing to do with that. Keep it up, and LL will be walking you like a dog. Sit up, good boy-- woof woof. my name is rags, woof, woof, my name is rags, woof, woof... Welcome to AICN superstardom...

  • Jan. 18, 2012, 3:02 p.m. CST

    by Bop N Rumble

You can't have a soap without a villain, so why are you leaving your soap to join the NCIS show? That's a big step down for you. I really want to see how things end between you and i_love_lanalang. She is on the verge of deMiltonizing you. It's such good tv.

  • Jan. 18, 2012, 6:17 p.m. CST

Southland is to Wambaugh what The Shield was to Ellroy. Oh, and Wambaugh and Ellroy are authors who wrote something called 'books'. Ask your grandparents what those are or just look it up on Wikipedia (tomorrow!).

  • That's rich. I guess there's no honor among bottoms.
