AICN Toys

John Ary here with a quick look at a few action figure lines that are making headlines this week...

Red Skull from Hot Toys

Hugo Weaving gets the 1/6 scale figure treatment with this new toy based on the film Captain America: The First Avenger. It features a TrueType body with over 30 points of articulation, six interchangeable hands, an authentic movie costume with leather-like black long coat, a pistol, the cosmic cube and a figure stand. Its available here for $199.99 with a release date sometime in the second quarter of 2012.

Robocop from Hot Toys

Freeze creep! Hot Toys has posted two new early pics of its upcoming 1/6 scale Robocop figure on Facebook. It sounds like there will also be a Cain figure from Robocop 2. We’re still waiting for more details about this line.

Halo: Reach Series 6 from McFarlane Toys

Look for the Invasion Two-Pack, Brute Major, Elite Zealot, an unmasked Jun and Kat, a Sabre Pilot, Spartan Hazop, and Spartan JFO in February. We have individual pics of each fig posted over at our website.

Botcon Exclusive Soundwave from Hasbro

This convention exclusive uses the Reveal the Shield Ironhide mold and a new head. Another feature that has several fanboys buzzing: the Cold Slither logo with Zartan’s face is plastered on the side of the passenger and driver side doors. BotCon 2012 will be in Fort Worth, Texas from April 26 – 29, 2012.

Steve Jobs from in icons

The man behind the iPad, iPod and iPhone is reduced to the 1/6 scale. This 12-inch figure features multiple points of articulation, two sets of interchangeable hands, his signature black turtleneck, jeans, glasses, New Balance running shoes, a stool, and two apples (no mini Apple products included). It will sell for $99 when it releases in February.

And finally, the original Green Hornet and Kato get immortalized in plastic by Factory Entertainment. Here’s my review of the new box set...
