You are welcome koolerthanjesus.
Jan. 5, 2012, 7:40 a.m. CST
i was going to, right, but then someone gave me a disc called Sasha Grey's Anatomy, and i figured that whatever the TV show was would not be as good as that disc.

But Beavis and Butthead have helped me laugh at it. Are B&B back tonight?
Jan. 5, 2012, 8:49 a.m. CST
Look at that long list. Can you point out ANY show on that list that possesses even a hint of originality, intelligence, comedy, or plain old entertainment? I don't think it's possible. You should find it disturbing that the networks are willing to program hours upon hours of what essentially amounts to a television wasteland. It's YOUR viewing habits that are driving this fiasco. The networks are simply giving you what you want. I'm truly stunned. At one time, Thursdays had SOME decent programming. But apparently you Miltons will watch just about anything. It is very sad.

You do like to bitch, don't you. Anthing else you watch, other than Nova? Must be something else you really enjoy. If not - well - ok.
Jan. 5, 2012, 9:29 a.m. CST
Why should anyone be upset that the networks are turning into a wasteland if that is what the viewer wants? Your logic escapes me. Also you continually come to a site that is covering the TV and Film industry, along with posting in message boards on that site, to just bitch about the core elements that make up the material the site is based on. It would be like going to a website about fast food and complaining about the nutritional value and calling all of those who enjoy or support that enterprise idiots. See the problem? I would ask that if you are so dissatisfied with what is being produced by networks, stop watching. In addition feel free to Troll somewhere else, maybe a website that covers another topic. I am also eagerly awaiting your response in yesterday's talkback about the novel concepts of the only show you have admiited to enjoying over the last two days.

Someone wants to watch a show about a dying dog and the owner who wants it taxidermied? Man, that reads like parody.

...I'm looking forward to the Jersey Shore returning. Thanks to those Shore marathons Ive seen so much of these dopes that I'm actually starting to like them.

I have to admit, I'm quite surprised at all the media attention my hometown's gotten over the last few years in reality TV. High school for me was guido safari (I even graduated with a future star of "Mob Wives"), so as you can imagine, I can't take my eyes off the kids on "Jersey Shore."

The guy obviously doesn't even watch Nova. He is just ashamed of trash he watches, but takes his shame out on others.

I'm really looking forward to Vampire Diaries returning. I'm not sure that there is a network drama that has done it better the last couple of years

I'm looking forward to its return. Btw, Nina Dobrev is one of the hottest actresses on television.

The wife and I have been watching it on Nexflix. We started watching a couple episodes here and there since before Thanksgiving and are now in season 5 or 6. It's total soap opera trash, but it has it's moments where it's really good. On an episode yesterday, a woman killed off all the good bacteria in her intestines so she needed a poo transplant from her husband to replenish the bacteria. How can I hate a show that features poo transplants?
Jan. 5, 2012, 2:43 p.m. CST
I must have stopped watching by the time that episode came around. I did get a kick out of that one episode with the dude who had a bomb in his ribcage. The only thing that could have made that episode better would have been if one of the cops had had a beer and cheated on his wife.

While it may seem like I'm being a bit of a cranky complainer, that's due to the fact that there is very little on tv that is worth watching. However, you asked about what I've been watching recently. While none of these shows are outstanding, they nonetheless have held my attention for at least a little while. -American Horror Story -Supernatural -Frontline -The Universe -Vietnam in HD -Man vs Wild -Alpine Skiing on the now defunct Universal Sports Channel -Attack of the Show -Xplay -Best Recipes Ever -A Michael Bublé Christmas And, yes, I do watch Nova.

The logic that "escapes you" is that the audience doesn't demand anything better than the insipid twaddle foisted upon them by the networks. They simply gulp it down and ask for more. Criticism of what is shown on tv is just as viable of a response on this message board as is blind devotion to sub-par tv shows which, unfortunately, is apparently rampant. The reason I don't follow your suggestion of "just stop watching tv" is because I still have some hope left that quality television somehow fights its way through the clutter of abysmal tv programming. I want to be surprised. Also, I take great offense at your suggestion that I'm trolling. I would never engage in such pointless behavior. I respect and I'm thankful for the work of people like Herc on this site who make the time and effort to avail us of the opportunity to engage in conversation about tv, movies, comic books, video games, et al.

when something like Jersey Shore is popular. A show full of numbskulls who don't offer anything worthwhile to society. I hope the viewers don't identify themselves with those nimrods, because then the US is really doomed.
Jan. 6, 2012, 7:06 a.m. CST
I've been ignoring you week after week, and rolling my eyes at the fact that you seem to get under other people's skin while trolling. But to call it anything else is bullshit. You usually start off with name calling, and that's fucking troll behavior. If it was about one type of show --say, that Jersey Shore shit-- that would be one thing... But you don't. You insult everyone who finds entertainment in any show that you don't watch. You're a troll. I'd have more respect for you if you embraced the title. Because now it's clear not only are you a troll, but you're a twat, too. Oh, and I do agree with you about the amount of unwatchable, insultingly retarded shit on television... but that doesn't change the twat/troll facts.

I have to believe that you have somehow mixed me up with another poster who you deem to be engaging in unpalatable behavior. I never resort to name-calling or foul language to make a point. That type of behavior is the purview of the immature, the uninformed, and those people who cannot formulate a cogent argument. Note that although you directed some venomous name-calling at me, I will not do the same to you. I rigorously follow self-imposed standards of behavior that I refuse to tarnish. I simply will not personally attack anyone on this site's message boards. But, some good has obviously resulted from this discussion. You read my post and you were swayed by my assertion concerning the lack of quality tv programming. We now have something in common between ourselves. Let's remain cordial to one another as we partake in discussions on this wonderful site that gives voice to those of us who enjoy chatting about tv, movies, comics, video games, et al. I wish you well.

I had always assumed these were just people playing characters (similar to Trailer Park Boys's style only with complete douchebags and morons). I mean how can ANYONE be that stupid? But after reading what mrekoletmelive said - this shows their actual personas?
Jan. 6, 2012, 4:26 p.m. CST
Sure, it LOOKS like it would be a lame tweeny Twilight show, but vampires aside, the story is absolutely nothing like that. The show has a great mythology going at this point. I love the shifting between different time periods.
