Lois Lane, Erica Durance, Repurposing David E. Kelley’s WONDER WOMAN Costume On David E. Kelley's HARRY’S LAW?

I am – Hercules!!

So THAT’S why “Harry’s Law” wasn’t cancelled months ago!

NBC rejected David E. Kelley’s “Wonder Woman” pilot but Kelley apparently hung on to the costumes.

Erica Durance, whose Lois Lane donned an amazon warrior outfit on “Smallville” last year, squeezed into Adrianne Palicki’s used Themysciran bustier for a “Harry’s Law” episode about a hot mess who thinks she’s the real Wonder Woman.

The secret identity of Durance’s character is Annie Billson. Recall “Hart of Dixie” star Rachel Bilson famously donned Diana’s duds for an episode of “The OC.”

The episode featuring Durance as Diana hits NBC Jan. 11.

I don't get the whole "geek" shit. Then what the fuck are you doing on AICN moron. Your life is a joke if you fucking come here and claim people are geeks or "you don't get it"... But you're fucking here so you obviously do douche. She looks great in that costume. WW is totally possible but you need a studio that doesn't back down. Lets the entire story be set in the 40's or 50's. She doesn't work in 2011... Almost 2012.

    by Darth_AUGUSTUS

If I was in America I would watch this ep of this law show just for this. Cause I'm that bored, and to see how Durance pulls of a crazy girl who thinks she is wonder woman angle. I think she is a decent actress. And the wonder woman pilot wasn't that bad. It's a pilot, Pilot's are almost always mediocre. Shows don't get good till the 3rd or 5th episode by then the story is fleshed out and viewer is intrigued enough to stay around or isn't and leaves.

  • Dec. 31, 2011, 1:38 a.m. CST

    by My Pretty Pony

The episode is called "Warrior" and it's from Season 9. TNT has been airing reruns of Seasons 8-10 Mon.-Fri.

  • She was annoying and grating on Smallville. I couldn't stand her. She destroyed the show. Plus, she's not good looking and actually looks quite mannish. She had ZERO chemistry with Tom Welling, and she was an awful actress. It still boggles my mind that SHE would get so much screentime while the much more accomplished actress, Kristin Kreuk, was unceremoniously written out of the show. Now, I understand that many of you middle-aged hermits go into fits of teenage lust whenever any semi-female form catches your lecherous gaze, but even you undersexed and over-stimulated Miltons have got to admit that Mr. Durance is a real dog when compared to the incomparable and ethereal beauty of Ms. Kreuk.

That ugly talentless pan face kruek was awful on Shitsville

    by Xiphos_2

christ that fugly cunt actually made time stop whenever she was on screen trying to mumble out her lines over the jizz and bad teeth in her sewer mouth.

  • Dec. 31, 2011, 4:11 a.m. CST

OH NOES! Someone let the Kreuk Fanboy Brigade loose!

    by David_Denmans_Beard

I don't give a shit about Durance either way but you're living in a world of pure fantasy if you think Kreuk brought viable acting to the table over her or anyone else on the show. Same goes for the fact that with the exception of the first season, every episode Lana was in - every goddamn scene - she was just as annoying, if not more, than Durance ever was in the role of Lois.

  • Dec. 31, 2011, 4:54 a.m. CST

    Wonder Woman is an Amazon

What the hell was David E Kelly smoking?

  • Dec. 31, 2011, 5:47 a.m. CST

Say what you like but Smallville got the costumes spot on.

    by yamayama

The costume for the Kelley reboot of Wonder Woman was atrocious. The smallville costume looked better even though the context of it was for a fancy dress party. Looking back we dont know how lucky we were to have got Smallville for 10 seasons. We need to get somone to sell a Suicide squad pitch to HBO. And tell them the licencing potential for toys, books, T shirts etc. That alone would pay for HBO's more indy type stuff.

  • Dec. 31, 2011, 6:04 a.m. CST

Xiphos_2, I am appalled by your offensive remarks concerning Ms. Kreuk.

    by I_Love_LanaLang

For your information, the lovely Kristin Kreuk is 1/2 Dutch and 1/2 Chinese. That combination not only resulted in a beautiful woman, but it also delivered to us one of the finest actresses of this generation. That you would resort to using a foul-mouthed and racist rant in an attempt to discredit Ms. Kreuk tells us everything we need to know about your credibility. On behalf of the wonderful Kristin Kreuk and her legions of fans, I demand an apology from you - ASAP!

  • First of all, it's obvious to anyone with a scintilla of knowledge about acting that the character of Lana - masterfully portrayed by the incomparable Kristin Kreuk - was the linchpin that kept Smallville popular for many seasons. She shined far brighter than any other character on the show. Secondly, her relationship with Clark was far more believable than the absurd and forced pairing of Clark and the awful Lois Lane. I don't want to hear any gripes about following the so-called 'canon' of the comic books. It's undeniable that Lana and Clark were meant to be together. Lastly, when Lana was callously written out of the show, Smallville took an immediate and steep nosedive in terms of quality and overall entertainment. Think about it: the last few seasons without Lana were filled with senseless and moronic storylines. The show ended up being entirely unfulfilling. It was empty. It had no heart.

  • Dec. 31, 2011, 6:33 a.m. CST

Erica Durance and Kristin Kreuk are both hot!

    by HollywoodHellraiser

I can't tell you who's the better actress because both are on the same level, IMO. Neither are bad actresses but their not that good. Now back to Erica in that WW costume... She looks fucking hot! Yeah the design sorta sucks but she fills it out very, very nice!!! Her body type might not be Amazonia(sp?) but she makes you want to splatter WW with some hot goo! Never wanted to do that to that fugly Adrianne Palicki’ but damn I wanna got at Erica hard n' fast!

Only the Kreuk-ites would say Erica Durance ruined Smallville.

    by Dursman2000

Durance helped to prolong the show, gave it life and Lois' relationship with Clark was anything but the mopey, WB-level "Clark's Creek" that the early years were. If she doesn't come in and nail that character, no way Smallville runs for 10 seasons. And Durance will always be my favorite Lois. Put that in your depressed-Lana pipe and smoke it ;)

Erica Durance is the best live-action Lois Lane EVER

    by Nasty In The Pasty

Sexy, witty, smart, and all-around charming. If it weren't for Dana Delany's awesome VO work on Superman: TAS, I'd even declare her the best Lois Lane, PERIOD. For Superman Returns, we got the GRAVELY miscast Kate Bosworth, and yet Durance never got the props she deserved. Like dursman2000 said above, the show likely wouldn't have lasted for TEN seasons were it not for the spark Durance brought to it beginning in season four (when the go-nowhere Clark/Lana plot was beginning to grate).

  • Dec. 31, 2011, 11:17 a.m. CST

Welling had no chemistry with Durance

    by gumbyandpokey

Actually, that's true. Tom Welling did have a better off-screen friendship with Kristin Kruek and it came across on the show, imo. How do I know? A neighbor's daughter worked on Smallville, so they heard all the gossip (she now works on Vampire Diaries).

  • Dec. 31, 2011, 11:24 a.m. CST

Don't get me wrong.. I like Erica Durance...

    by LargoJr

... I think she's a engaging and lovely woman, truly attractive and vivacious in every way necessary for the show 'Smallville' and her character. Unfortunately, the show trapped her in asinine, vacuous, and largely infantile/unimaginative writing, with freakishly painful dialogue, and utterly retarded situations. They did the same thing with Kristen.. Godamn show had SO much potential, and then the bean counters started cutting back on everything, forcing the abandonment and truncation of plot & story after plot & story. Many of the actors in the show had a real shot at building characters and back story, as well as establishing themselves as legitimate members of the thespian community. Now every one of them is largely Personae non-Grata.. and that's just fucking sad.

  • Dec. 31, 2011, 11:31 a.m. CST

    Welling wasn't exactly... charismatic either.

    by Disgruntled_Chinaman

He was fucking carved from wood! Each time he verbally jousted with the baddie, he had the same righteous delivery, the same timber, whether the planet was at stake or some small-timer robbed a bank.
Although I was impressed how each week the minor hero stole the show, poking fun at the critics who said the "freak-of-the-week" formula was destroying the show. The Booster Gold ep was on the other day and I was amazed how well he was brought to life.

    by Immortal_Fish

Unlike WW, he wouldn't have had to shoehorn She-Hulk into the type of TV show he wanted to make. She-Hulk would have dovetailed quite nicely into his vision for the show. It's a shame he and NBC never realized it.

    Lynda Carter Forever

    by Cyrus Clops

Lynda Carter at her peak (hell, even now) will always be my favorite Wonder Woman.
Durance is fine, though I don't see her ever getting past a certain level of talent or visibility; I see her having a Charisma Carpenter-level career: hot, reasonably-but-not-too talented, getting regular guest spots on TV series, innocuous girlfriend roles, and toplining a Hallmark/Lifetime original movie every now and again. Also, one of the few actresses for whom I feel "breast enhancement" actually functioned as an "enhancement."
I never got the hate people have for Kreuk; I think that extends more to her character than the actress herself (who I thought was gorgeous, if limited, myself). The fact is no regulars on that show were exceptionally good actors (I dunno, Rosenbaum? Annette O'Toole?), so singling her out for derision seems strange to me.
However, if I were running that show, we wouldn't have seen Lois Lane until the very last scene of the very last episode, but I am sadly not a television writer.

    by Jake Pantlin

WOW! Am I ever happy to have seen this picture today! Its a shame they didn't cast Erica as Wonder Woman... she looks amazing in the costum... but of course she was Lois Lane so they never would have done that. But DAMN! She looks amazing in that costume! Had they cast an actress like Erica with her looks and charm, I think Wonder Woamn could have made it on TV. Personally, I like the costume. If they ever make a Smallville made-for-TV Justice League movie, they should put Wonder Woman in it and reuse this costume.

    by themikejonas

Those who are calling Durance "mannish" seem to have forgotten Margot Kidder. When Durance debuted as Lois on Smallville, she did look like she'd been around the block a few too many times before, though. But after Kreuk left and they finally made Lois Clark's singular love interest, the Smallville people seemed to go out of her way to soften Durance's look and make her more feminine and conventionally attractive. Sadly, that was also around the time Smallville's writing regressed to Power Rangers standards.

If only every woman could look that good after surgery! It is pretty clear that she only had minor work done on her nose. Christ, even Christoper Reeve (Superman!) had a nose job, fanboys. Get over yourselves, and act like fucking men. Also, to the Lana fan who keeps whinning about Kristin leaving the show - get over it! The chick was cute, but her acting (and crying) was annoying as hell. Clark was growing up, and he needed a strong woman at his side, not a high school sweetheart. Erica gave the show a shot in the arm, and I don't think the show would have lasted 10 years if it wasn't for her coming on board.

  • Visually and storywise i think the show had its moments. Acting/casting not so much.

    Palicki vs Durance

  • I don't claim to be a fully reconstructed fellow, but you know what, dicks? If you can't say something nice, *don't say anything at all* Let alone imply that a stone fox like Erica Durance isn't up to your exacting standards.

  • Jan. 1, 2012, 10:56 p.m. CST

re: Again, Kelly was going for the better actor..

    by Jake Pantlin

Yeah, and how did that work out? Hell, they couldn't even be bothered to finish the pilot and recuperate some of their loses through DVD sales. I have nothing against Palicki. She is a good actress and a talented girl. But she didn't look right in that costume at all. It just wasn't the pasrt for her, and Kelley should have known that after screen testing her in the costume.

  • How do you simply ignore her cleft chin? A chin like that is acceptable for a man to sport, but not so much for a woman. It's very mannish. She has a very wide face. Her cheekbones aren't classically beautiful, and she appears to have flappy jowls. Her eyes are heavy looking, and her overall visage is reminiscent of a bassett hound. Also, she has barn hips. They're much too wide for a woman who hasn't given birth yet. Is it desperation that drives people to claim that a very average looking woman is some sort of supermodel?

  • Jan. 2, 2012, 9:39 a.m. CST

i_love_lanalang: Kristin Kreuk looks like a 15 year old girl

    by Jake Pantlin

You want to know why more men prefer Erica Durance over Kristin Kreuk? Do you really want to know? Well, I'll tell you why. It is because Kristen still looks like a teenage girl, whereas Erica looks like a woman. A very sexy woman! Bitch all you want buddy, but Erica proved to be more popular with the viewing audience on Smallville then Kristen did. Especially with (gasp!) female viewers! As the viewing audience matured, fans got tired of seeing Lana cry from episode to episode. Lois was a breath of fresh air, and it was easy to see how a man would fall for her. Especially a "Super" man. Finally, a grown man who calls himself "i_love_lanalang" really concerns me. Wasn't she suppose to be 15 years old when the show started? Kinda creepy dude.

  • Kreuk vs. Durance in terms of beauty and talent? It isn't even a competition. Ms. Kreuk is vastly more attractive and talented than Mr. Durance. I don't doubt that Durance was more popular with women than Ms. Kreuk on Smallville. As we all know, women tend to be catty and jealous creatures who HATE other women that are prettier than them. They HATE women who are popular with men. And guess what? You shouldn't assume things about people you've never met. I'm no more of a man than you are an alpha, which means, yes, I am a woman and, yes, you're a typical beta.

Seri0usly dude you are creeping us all out. Kreuk looked like a young girl which was right for her character but lets face it she has shown little in the way of brilliant acting over the years. Durance is a better actress, the cleft chin i not manly - it's just a cleft in a chin - she's hotter to me but thats because I'm older and ogling Kreuk seems a litytle too creepy for mine.

    Durance is THE Lois Lane

    by Bop N Rumble

I hated her in the beginning but she totally won me over. And she is like fine wine. She gets better by age.

    Durance is effing sexy...

I've had a thing for her since she first walked into my Smallville world and she just keeps getting hotter to me. And I agree that she IS Lois Lane. Or at the very least, the best played Lois Lane thus far. The only one that even comes close to her is Teri Hatcher, but Durance out does her with charm, wit, and beauty by a long run.

    i_love_lanalang = Female Celebrity Stalker

    by Jake Pantlin

History has shown that plenty of celebrity stalkers are crazy women who fall in love with actresses, and have difficulty separating fantasy from reality. It is usually rooted in low self-esteem, and the need and desire to be wanted by someone (in your case, to be wanted by Kristin Kreuk). Bashing another actress on her looks shows that you blame her for getting Kristin taken off of your favorite show, thus destroying your fantasy world. So if you are actually a woman, that isn't really a defense for your crazy behaviour on these boards. If anything, it shows a cry for help.

    sunwukong86, I totally agree.

I saw Alison Mack on TV this morning and was reminded that I always liked her the most out of all the women on Smallville. She's cute and charming and they had to keep her on the show even in the later seasons when Chloe Sullivan didn't have much to do as a character.

Mack doesnt have the typical Hollywood look

She's someone you could picture being best friends with in High School.

Talented - one word no one will ever use to describe Durance. Good Canadian girl though
