Quiotxe29 takes a gander at the HIGHLANDER 4 screenplay!
Hey folks, Harry here with a scoop from Quiotxe29 upon the script for HIGHLANDER 4: WORLD WITHOUT END. I believe, could be mistakened, that this is our first real peek inside the jacket of this, the latest in the Highlander series. There are spoilers below... but they are labeled, enjoy...
Long-time reader, first time poster with a script review for the Highlander 4 movie. While it has currently undergone several name changes, I believe it is now referred to as Highlander: World Without End. IMDB has the writers listed as Gillian Horvath and Joel Soisson from a story by William Panzar. Panzar also did the stories for both the second and third Highlander films, if that is an indicator. While nowhere near as bad as those two, Highlander 4 isn't all that great either.
I've always had a problem with the Highlander franchise. I thought Highlander was a fantastic film. It's not high art but it's entertaining as hell and has some great characters as personified by Christopher Lambart, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown. The trouble is, it doesn't warrant a sequel. It has a logical three-act beginning, middle and end. A stand-alone film. Now, I know common sense and Hollywood rarely collide in the same sentence, but this is as far as the clan MacLeod saga should have gone. Instead, we were subjected to Highlander II: The Quickening. In this one, the writer(s) completely dismissed the mythic feel of the first by reimagining the Immortals as aliens! I won't even go into it. If you've seen it, then you're here with me. The third, Highlander III: The Sorcerer ignored The Quickening and apparently the Immortal moto: There can be only one (unless of course there's this guy who's been frozen forever and now he's out and pissed at Conner. Ther!
e can be only two?)
During this time, Highlander the Series also debuted. While not a huge fan, I thought that it did more justice to the entire Highlander mythos and introduced some intriguing new aspects such as the Watchers, etc. Not great but not all that bad either. Adrian Paul seemed more than capable of handling himself and I thought he had far more range than Lambert did/does.
Given the popularity of the series, it was pretty inevitable that Highlander 4 would come about. While reading the script, I kept thinking of a similar movie: Star Trek: Generations. Yep, it's one of those out-with-the-old, in-with-the-new types of movies where the older wiser character(s) shows the whipper-snapper a thing or two and then faces off against the bad guy only to get his ass kicked so the new guy can get super pissed and do what the old guy couldn't: Kick the bad guy's ass. The entire screenplay is packed with this passing of the torch motif that is becomes as predictable as paint-by-numbers.
SPOILERS
Here's the plot in a nutshell: There's this bad guy Kell who is some sort of invincible Immortal/Priest/David Koresh type of person. He has managed to gather a flock of Immortals who worship him and do his bidding. That is essentially: find immortals who are not with him and kill them. Actually, they just trap them so that Kell can them. This way he gets their Quickening and thus becomes more and more powerful.
Now, as luck would have it, Kell has a major thing for Conner MacLeod. It seems that way back when, Kell accused Conner's mother of witchcraft and had her burned at the stake. Conner went nuclear, killing most of the villagers who took part in the burning and then 'killing' Kell. When he killed the mortal Kell, the immortal Kell was born. And, lest we forget Duncan, it turns out that his ex-wife who is super pissed at him, is now one of Kell's followers.
The Watchers, in the meantime, have kidnapped a very bitter and morose Conner and are holding him at a place called the Sanctuary. See, since Kell is supposedly invincible, if he were to defeat all of the Immortals then mankind would suffer an eternity of Darkness (have we heard this before?). So they've taken Conner and plan on keeping him captive forever. That way there will always be one Immortal that Kell cannot get and thus mankind won't be plunged into darkness.
So, anyway Connor is busted out, meets up with Duncan. They have a couple of introspective flashback sequences, Conner and Kell face off a couple of times but never really fight because Kell is more interested in toying with Conner as opposed to killing him. It seems that Conner has developed a death wish. Conner realizes that he can't beat Kell, Duncan has to deal a little with his ex-wife who is also Kell's lover, their's some intrigue involving the Watchers that has series regular Joe Dawson returning to help his friend Duncan. Methos is also along for the ride but only to spout Yoda-like advice before disappearing. Conner reaches the conclusion that the only way that Kell can be defeated is a combined Duncan/Conner. That means, only one thing. One of them has to die and take the quickening of the other.
First, the problems. Kell is written like the Kurgen's bastard son and falls short. As he's written now, he just seems like every other sneering villian we've seen on the series. Conner has none of the flair that he brought to the original or even the sequels for that matter. He's just morose and monotone through this. Duncan just strives to play catch-up and the sub-plot with his ex-wife is a snoozer. This, however, is my biggest problem. In the flashback sequences, we are treated to several training scenes between Duncan and Conner, similar to the ones between Conner and Ramirez in the original. Now this is fine and dandy, derivative as hell, but fine. Conner, however, teaches Duncan a super-secret sword move that almost ensures instant victory. Guess which move is then used to defeat the bad guy in the end? What is this, the Karate Kid? Daniel Russo and the Crane Technique? I thought it was ridiculous, especially since Conner never tried to use it on Kell when !
he had the chance. Then you had the series regulars who appeared and disappeared without doing all that much for the story.
The good? I liked the final battle sequence. If executed properly, it really could be something to behold.
Anyway, this is the review. Make of it what you will.

Do we really need another HIGHLANDER movie? This is just going to be some piece of shit that will shoot straight to video. There is no way to market the series. Who the Hell wastes money on these things?

What a stupid concept."There can be only one Highlander movie."
-
I know the TV series is popular and all, but unless they decide to totally ignore the first movie (the reason this all exists in the first place...) we know how the Gathering ends. Conner kills the Kurgan, and he gets the prize! If they kill off Conner, they will totally lose me as a fan. I get extremely tired of executives who will twist and kill something that the fans love just to try to make a buck. For instance, every time they make a movie based on a comic book, they have to change it somehow. They can't just make it as written, even though that's the reason it's popular in the first place. I mean, Batgirl/Barbara being Alfred's niece? Please. The reason the TV series is popular is because it follows the flavor of the first movie closely. The second and third movies blew because they strayed from this. The Renegade version of the second movie is much more palatable, and makes more sense. So, it sounds like they'll kill of the character that created the whole thing, to keep the character think they can make money from. What they don't seem to realize is that there are a lot of us out here that DO care about the story, and whether or not it makes sense.

In Highlander 2 the script is so bad I wanted to kill the writers. It was almost as bad as BBC Scotlands Invasion Earth, if you have seen it my condolences, if you haven't then you are lucky. I thought Highlander was dead but no along comes a new series and another film all is right in the Highlander Universe. BUT it isn't the series main fault is that all the bad guys seemed to be the same personality over and over. The series only added two things to the over all story.
1. The Watchers. An element of protection for mankind or some threat to the immortals.
2. The four Horsemen. I know three of them are dead but the one who suvived is still the coolest immortal yet.
Who wants to live Forever. Roborob. A lowlander Scot who likes Highlander, But I can't figure why? -
Why did they have to ruin a perfectly good series. The first movie rocked, the second was a waste of film, and I didn't even waste my time with watching the third one. The TV show rocked, but they could use the characters like Methos so much better. Please don't degrade the clan McCloud anymore! Make a good movie!

H4 ignores #1 - Same exact mistake as the last two crap films -
by macleod
I am really pissed at Lambert for allowing this to happen. He has pissed his career away like no other actor I can remember. And the damn producers! Did you know Gregory Widen, who wrote the first drafts of the original, had an idea for the first sequel, but was turned down? That idea became THE PROPHECY, which is ten times as good as any of the sequels and the damn TV show, which all ignore the original film!! MORONS!! The last movie was so beyond bad, I got sick to my stomach watching it. THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ONLY ONE dammit all to hell!!!!!!
-
Does anyone remember this? It actually was better than the tv show or the shit sequels. Anyway, does this movie take place before the original movie? Where did all the Immortals come from. Aw, fuck it. They can't save this one.
-
Brian Clemens co-wrote the story with Panzer: it was most likely his idea to re-invent the mythology as "space beings from the planet Zog". Although Clemens had great TV success with "The Avengers" (among others) other stuff he has penned (BBC's "Bugs" for example) demonstrate that he is a second-rate writer who relies too heavily on quirky situations to carry the story.

I read the version of Highlander IV, which was available online through The Daily Script. I'm glad I saved it before it inevitably got removed. I'll say it without shame. Being a guy who was never really a fan of Highlander, I thought this script was the best Highlander movie of the series. The idea of immortals fighting on Earth until the very last one remains, is a great one, and none of the movies followed through. Sure, the first was the best, but it is an incredibly overrated movie. I can see its cult status, though. I always found it overlong, just dragging. The second one was fucked up, interesting in how it in no way resembles the first. And the third was cow shit, even worse than the second. The script I read (which I still have if anyone is interested in reading it) is very well paced, filled with characters more interesting than in any of the Highlanders, with some great scenes. Sure, it doesn't make sense if Connor is the only one left by the end of the first, but it didn't really matter to me either way. There are some great lines in the script, one delivered by Kase (renamed?) before decapitating one of the followers. Connor's death is handled very well, and I though that move he teaches to Duncan was kind of cool, although it wasn't exactly clear as written. The only downsides I found have to do with the script being a little too short. (Through Final Draft, it's just over 90 pages). Some characters are underdeveloped, like Duncan, and Kase's followers don't have much to do. And Sean Connery IS missed. All in all though, I thought it was great.
The Thinker -
I don't see why the producers of this flick what to tear open the wounds that were Highlander 2 and 3. They shouldn't even have Conner in this at all. It should be Adrian Paul's vehicle alone. It seems to me that the reason for the franchise's revivial is the television series, not any of the movies. Involve Methos more (he's the cult hero) and forget about Conner.
-
give me a break..... he had almost nothing to do with the actual script or story... about as much as nigel kneale had to do with halloween III..
just like with nigel.... there are several places that don't even list clemens contribution at all to the script....
the highlanders films would like to a TENTH as good as clemens own Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter.... its everything the first highlander wanted to be and failed to be.....
Bob Anderson isn't worthy to lick william hobbs boots....
anymore than gregory widen or Mulcahy are worthy to lick Clemens....

The dickining..uh Quickining I kinda felt that there realy was no need for another movie. Let alone 2 and a TV show.
-
Guys and Gals, you should keep your browsers bookmarked at either http://simplyscripts.home.att.net or http://dailyscript.com and then you would have read the script for yourselves before it was yanked. Think for yourselves. I read the script before it was yanked. It rocked! And, it left me wistful. It brought closure. I'll be first in line for the movie. Quickening not withstanding, H4 ties everything up.
-
*sigh* Get a clue people. H4:WWE (or whatever they finally decide on calling it), takes place in what would best be described as "the Series universe". That is, it doesn't take place in the world of the first (or 3rd, and most certaintly not 2nd) films. Connor didn't win the prize. He fought the Kurgen, but the Kurgen wasn't the 2nd to last immortal (the last being Connor in the film). Soooo, don't go complaining about how it ignores the first (or 2nd or 3rd) films. *It's not supposed to.* It's an entirely different universe that was introduced and set up by the tv series. Now if you wanna complain about the first 2 sequels, then be my guest ;)

I'm sorry but Tom Clancy absolutely made Highlander 1 what it was - a brilliant 'one off' movie. A sequel was a horrible idea! The only thing that would have made any sense was a prequel which could have been thouroughly entertaining without making a joke of everything in the first. Why is this classic movie cursed to be ruined? I bought the DVD and was amazed at how bad the transfer was (worse than VHS!) although the sound was great and I'm still glad I bought it just for the directors commentary. Many interesting facts such as they only had Sean Connery to shoot all his scenes for just ONE WEEK! And when Tom Clancy burst through the castle door to fight Sean (his first day of shooting) he nearly decapitated him by accident and shooting was delayed for several hours.
Don't make this film - it won't get anywhere near the funding it needs to make it decent and will just end up being another Sunday night 11:pm network TV filler. -

The first Highlander film is one of my all time favorite movies. Its simply awesome. The second obviously sucks, but the third was a fun movie. Mario Van Peebles played an interesting villan.
The Series was also one of my all time favorites, and I was sorry to see it deteriorate and collapse at the end. Theres been talk of a movie including both Lambert and Paul for years. I was actually under the impression that one was being made several years back and was disapointed when it never came to be.
Im suprised to see the number of people who are so opposed to a fourth movie. -
... for the full story. The producers lost control of the film due to money problems and so the company financing it took control and turned the film into something more "science-fictiony" that would appeal to a wider audience. They didn't care what they screwed up in the process.
Needless to say, that is why the Renegade Edition was brought out, elimianting all mention of the alien heritage (never happened) and The Quickening (due to the definition having changed so much).
Anyone want to bring up Highlander: The Animated Series? -
From what I've read before, Christopher Lambert had a clause in his contract for the original Highlander which would obligate him to do a sequel, if they so choose to do one. (which they of course, did) I'm not sure why he is doing this one, though, unless he needed the money. By the way, wwf wrestler, Edge, makes a guest appearance in this one.
-
When Clancy Brown wrote "Sum Of All Fears", "Hunt For Red October" and "Patriot Games" they rocked! Didn't like "Op Center" too much though. That Clancy Brown is a heck of a writer!
-
Will there be any music by Queen in it?

You know, Highlander was a great concept that was executed extremely poorly in its sequels. (WHO HAS MARIO VAN PEEBLES AS ITS VILLIAN??????) Anyways, conner dies in this one and we can be treated to another shitfest. WHOOPITY DEE!!!!

PADDY: The 6th season was either ok or drek depending on who you ask (personally, I thought it was fine. Not great, not bad). Anyway, many of the episodes were tryouts for new female immortals (rumor has it the producers were trying to shop around a female immortal series to a network. They eventually decided to go with "The Raven" w/ Amanda). Duncan wasn't even in one ep. Nothing increadibly important happened, but to sum it up, Duncan reappeared in Paris after quite awhile abroad in seclusion ('cause he was quite depressed after killing Ritchie). Anyway, he kills Ahriman. The last two eps have Duncan basically being shown what his life would be like had he not lived. It was a nice goodbye. The following site has transcripts of a few of the eps from season 6. http://www.yak.net/ian/jinjifore/index.html

LYMOND: They are making the film. Infact, they should almost be done. All of the flashback have been shot and they're presently filming in England (snow prevented any more filming in Romania).

by wesley snipes
!!!!!!!!MAJOR SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!**************************************************************************************************************************************** "The Last Hong Kong Action Hero" Donnie Yen is playing the heavy in this one. He's supposed to be a Japanese swordsman. He's the one who does a ginsu (slices & dices) on Connor in the movie. This is confirmable fact at various legit movie sites and from interviews with Donnie himself. Also, IIRC Yen's character is supposed to kill Connor fairly early on in the movie, not at the end as this script review implies. The way the villain is described in the review seems to be utterly different. So what's the deal here? Is this a review of an old old draft?

Why the first Highlander spawned so many deformed of-spring is beyond me. The first movie realy sucks, watch it again and see what i meen. I loved it as a kid because as a kid the last thing you care about is plot. When I was 14, this movie had everything I needed; swords, magic and Kilts, but I recently watched it again and it bit the big one! Why they even bothered to make a sequel, let alone number 3 and now 4 is quite beyond me. As soon as a movie comes out with a decent plot line as well as swords, magic and men in dresses, I predict people will quickly forget there ever were any movies called Highlander: ect. ect. By the way, the movie that will make us turn the other cheek on the Highlander franchise will probably be LOTR, you all know I'm right.
-
It's too bad Gregory Widen wasn't more involved in this, and it can never really be a great HIGHLANDER without the stylings of Russell Mulcahy. I will simply explode when Methos appears onscreen no matter how brief the appearance is! Peter Wingfield's character on the series was the best thing they ever did. Especially the Four Horsemen episodes. Man, I'd love to see Methos, Kronos, and the rest of them ride again someday. Too bad they lost their heads.BTW:Whatever happened to "The Raven" series? I saw a few episodes, and then it disappeared.METHOS FOREVER!!!
-
Highlander 2: The Quickening did suck. The "Renegade Version," however, is a strange and interesting movie that you should find and watch. Not only does it explain the battles fought over the film (part of which I think is BS and after-the-fact CYA, however), but it also serves as a great study in filmmaking. The Renegade Version deletes all references to aliens and is structured in an entirely different sequence, and somehow manages to evoke an entirely different atmosphere than the original version. While it's still not a great work of art, it is a far more interesting film, and the feel of it is far more in keeping with the original. Make sure it's the "Renegade Version," though, and not just the "Director's Cut."
-
The original Highlander is one of my favorite movies, yet crappy films continue to bury it. This movie prequel sets up events so that the original movie could never happen, a what-if movie for fans of the TV series - OK, I suppose I can see how fans of the TV show could dig it. I'm not one of them. They should have just found Lambert another sword-wielding role. I don't always say this, but I hate sequels!
-
This movie will die a quick and lonely little death at the American box-office, but will then go on to be a monster smash in Europe, where the television show was a popular hit.
-
at best unreliable information from an unauthorized, questionably authentic draft of the script and was possibly acquired by unethical means or maybe even completely bogus.
The movie is not even finished shooting yet and here we have someone doing an expose on an unauthorized screenplay. There are maybe as many as 3 weeks left to filming because of a delay in December. Filming has presently moved to England to wrap things up.
I hate to burst the above article's author and Harry's bubble but there have probably been numerous rewrites of the script which could mean a totally different story than the one you spoiled everyone on. Visitors to the set can attest to the fact that there were changes almost daily in on set meetings to the script.
To label this article as anything but a great big speculation would be very misleading. And if it is the real deal, shame on you for spoiling fans and doing this so prematurely when the movie hasn't even gone into post production yet. You can only speculate that this is the final script but it is probably not and only one of many many drafts.
Although I did not read your spoilers, I did read the first part of this article and it needs correction. Gillian Horvath, a "Highlander: The Series writer", together with Bill Panzer wrote the story "Highlander: "World Without End". Joel Soisson wrote the screenplay based on their story. What other information might be inaccurate in this spoiler? Are you sure of every fact in this piece and your sources? Anyone want to play a game of "Telephone"?

by vanchini
I thought that the first movie was excelent but the rest just plain sucked but i thought that the third movie was i fact a prequal based between the first and second films. mainly cause in the second film conner creates that thing that blocks out the sun so the ozone can repair itself or something and the third was based around about 70-80 years before that which made absolutly no sense whatsoever. Having Ducan in the new film. To be blunt he isnt as good as conner, and having him kill conner is very stupid indeed and whatever possed the script writer to do that should be strung up and castrated..........
The cartoon sucked it made no sense and was basically crap. as for this special move ok if u knew a special move that would never fail would u use it all the time even when fighting little dickhead people who cant even swing a swordi i sort of half remember in the series ducan going on about conner being dead although i could be wrong -
Wesley: It's extremely possible that the script was an early draft. Infact, I'd bet on it.

Number 4 will be CRAP no matter what!! Like everything before it, it can't fit into the continuity. I've heard nothing of this being a 'prequel'. And Connor DIES??!!!
SCREW YOU!!!
I could fill this forum ripping Davis/Panzer a 'new one' for what they've done to this character and franchise. The 'FIRST MOVIE' and 'ONLY THE FIRST MOVIE' represents the true Highlander Mythos. NOT a series. NOT a cartoon. One wonderful singular self contained movie full of magic.
What's missing from all the other 'bastardizations' of this property?? Gregory Widen!! Where is he? How does he feel about what 'they've' done?? Am I wrong but wasn't he 'creator' as well as 'writer' of the original Highlander?? He made the first Highlander what it was. He had a great vision and D/P Productions has killed it and continues to mutilate the rotting corpse!!
It just doesn't matter. -
Okay, if any of you know me from the Star Wars talkbacks, you know I'm such a gushing fan boy it's pathetic. Well, I read the HL 4 script today. I've often watched the tv show, and enjoyed it, but here recently, I've been really getting in to it. Comes on every day at noon on the sci-fi channel. Just watched the "To be or not to be" finale. Incredible stuff. The tv series has a lot more depth han I ever thought it did. Okay, as for continuity ... sigh ... think Buffy. Liek that movie, the tv series operates in a basically slightly alternate universe. Plan and simple. They evolved it to a tv show, and the universes are therefor parallel rather than perpendicular. Same thing with HL the series. It never attempted to take anything but the premise of the movies. Yes, Connor is in episode one as Duncans' mentor, but as someone pointed out, he had not won the Prize in this reality. Hell, the Prize is even something different in this one. No continuity errors here. And out of the series, a very intricate and elborate HL mythology was born. One that topped the movies, IMO. As for the 4 script ... look, I personally think having Connor in there is only going to make an already terminally confused situation that is the movie series worse. Nothing against Lambert (I hear he's having some eye problems - bummer), but this film should not include him at ALL. This is a huge mistake. Maybe even a fatal one. The reason Buffy spun off successfully is because it delineates between the film and the series. HL did the same. But now, it's going to throw the two worlds together and we're going to have the worst mess you can imagine on our hands. The fact is this - the series was a bigger hit than the movies ever were. Did any of them turn a profit? The thing is, the script has some interesting stuff in it. Could be cool. But it CANNOT incorporate Connor if they're trying to make a movie series based on the show now. It should be IN the TV universe. So, cut the "4" out of the title, loose Lambert, and just make it Highlander: World Without End. Totally new movie. The fact is, IMO, if they had used all the time that they'd wasted on Connor and used it to introduce the new crew ... flesh out the characters a bit more ... we could have a hell of a movie on our hands. But you can't have Lambert and Adrian vying for star status here. Not both. It would be like having a Buffy movie with both Sarah Michelle Gellar and Kristy Swanson in it. Ridiculous. If they want to attempt to start up a new HL movie series, they've got the best launching pad in the world. The Gathering is still a long way off, and you've got characters that are already beloved by fans in Europe and America. There's no reason it couldn't work. But focus the new story on Duncan Macleod, Joe Dawson, Amanda, and Methos. Please. These are the folks that would be at the heart of the new franchise. It would be great. ANd I hate to say this because I usually like to stick by a franchise, but no one seems to be able to keep this one under control. I hate having to second guess the creators. But damn this could be cool. I don't know why Panzer feels like he has to patronize BOTH fan bases. All he's gonna do is alienate both. And yeah, I'm quickly becoming a Methos groupie.
-
I agree that the sequels are utter garbage but Widen is given too much credit for Highlander. To be honest his script was rewritten many times by Peter Bellwood and Larry Ferguson. Much of what we know and love as Highlander was added by these two script doctors. Also for those that wanna know what if he'd been involved in making a sequel? Widen wrote some treatments for the new Highlander movie. His concept would have started from scratch and had the working title of Highlander: The Immortals. He was also slated to possibly direct it at one point as well but this all fell thru.

In the words of The Rock, "It doesn't MATTER if you didn't like
by hammer2fall
The fact of the matter is, they've got a chance to make good on what was made bad in the past (i.e., Highlander 2 and 3), and if they don't, the fans of the original are gonna 'em a few new ones. That's why movies like Mortal Kombat 3 and Batman 5 won't be as bad as we think; they made mistakes with previous films (MKA and B&R) and make the successors a lot better! And it's worked in the past too...like with Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween...The first ones were great, but they were followed with some dumb sequels (Halloween 3, for example, had nothing at all to do with Michael Myers...huh?). But they were eventually corrected with some better movies in the modern day, in this case Halloween H20 and New Nightmare, which I'm sure you'll agree fit the standards of the originals more than their predecessors. They tried to correct the mistake of Highlander 2 with number, and it ended up making more sense than H2, but on the other was a blatant remake of the first, right down to the chicken car race with the villian and the hostage. What I'm saying is, for cryin' out loud, have a little faith in the people who know what the #@%$&! they're doing! It's the people who we know have their heads up their asses that we should worry about!
-
I dunno how many people have actually seen it, but there was a whole two or three part episode of the series where Conner McLeod actually met up with Duncan, and sort of handed over the mantle. I think it was called "The Gathering". So that kinda makes this whole Highlander 4 thing seem a little... already done. Hmm... Just like "Star Trek: Generations"!
-
did these dumb fucks forget II & III!just do a prequel!at least i could swallow that!maybe a series of ramirez`s adventures way before mcCloud!do these writers have no shame!i was at the screening of highlander III and blasted then!told then what to chang to make up for II!yet they did not change one scene!so i don`t think anything we say would make a shit of difference.....
-
it is Highlander: Endgame, number 2, this "script" is a fraud, so it's odviouse that you don't really know what your talking about. If you don't like Highlander, then don't see it and it will NOT go dirtectly to video.
-
what you fail to take into consideration is that the H4 screenplay is almost the same as its predessessor. the new move similar to the one that Connor used to take his opponents sword in H3 is also a factor in H4. Similarly, the bad guy in H4 is also a diravative of Kurgan as was the sorcerer character in H3. Also...and most impportantly...is that the producers completely forget the rules of the highlander universe when presenting new movie material. Where the hell are these new immortals coming from if they were missing from the final battle of the original film? They are all supposed to be headless worm food by now.
