Sarah Palin News!!
“Survivor” mastermind Mark Burnett told The New York Post this week there were never any plans for a “Todd Palin: Snowmobile Racer” series that would have charged some lucky cable channel $1 million per episode.
“That is totally inaccurate,” Burnett told the Post. “In fact, the idea around snowmobiling was to be part of an episode in ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska’ — not a series.”
Burnett’s company is said to have charged TLC $1 million per episode for the first season of the low-rated Palin series, but the channel seems less excited about a second season.
“I think it is safe to say her time has passed,” a TLC source told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month.
Even Fox News is rumored to be ready to decline a contract renewal for Palin. That channel's chief, Roger Ailes, reportedly regards Palin as an idiot and grew super-pissed when Fox didn't get the exclusive when Palin announced she would not run for president next year.
The good news is the lamestream media is still bringing “Game Change,” an HBO movie that examines John McCain’s disastrous decision to name Palin his 2008 running mate. HBO just released a new promo:

Pfff. Her time never came. Palin is an idiot; the less we see of her and her family, the better. It is bad enough they even aired the series, but whomever paid that much to do so should have been fired on the spot.
-
Very little interest in a McCain/Palin movie or ticket, but Julianne Moore looks like she fits the bill incredibly.

I think it is safe to say their time has passed.

my god, what have i done...
-
The mistake was not selecting Palin - she made McCain's numbers rise. The mistake was in McCain's policies - which would have been much like Obama's. In other words, a total and complete disaster. Democrats have been running incredibly, far, far left-wind nutjob extremist candidates. Conservatives need to stop pandering to the uninformed, and run a real conservative for the top job. There are many voters who don't get their information from comedy shows. Those people all vote conservative.
-
As if there's a left-wing anymore.
-
I've got two names for you: Sarah Palin and Dan Quayle. I have plenty of criticisms of the democrat party, but idiots of this caliber only come from one place: you guessed it, the Republican party. Nominating anyone that dumb for anything other than a car-washing job is a god-damned colossal mistake, whatever your politics.

Maggie from The Walking Dead, even though she only showed side-boob.

Speaking of which, I actually looked to see if Maggie from The Walking Dead had any topless scenes
by Al
Pointed me to Mr Skin which said, yes, her boob pops out in a fight scene with, erm, maybe Kal Penn in "Van Wilder 2: Rise of Taj" which didn't look that sexy at all.

She's now a Kardashian or a Snookie. . . someone who makes money by capitalizing on a kind of fame that requires no real achievement.

so what is so immoral about Maggie from The Walking Dead showing her nipple anyway? Would Sarah Palin know?
by Al
I mean, in the episode is just watched, they chopped a bloated well-zombie in half and then smashed his face in. And maggie couldn't show her nipple. Am I missing something here? I feel like Ripley when she woke up from hypersleep: "Did IQ's suddenly drop while I was away?!"

Anyway, I hope Maggie from the Walking Dead survives long enough to make it to the prison and marry Glenn
by Al
Because the relationship between Glenn and Maggie is one of the few warm spots in a very dark book. Even though she tries to kill herself later on. Anyway, I got XMas presents to wrap and Walking Dead episodes to finish walking. Even though I already read the book and I know there's zombies in the barn anyway.
-
In case you didn't know. Sarah Palin reality TV series are lamer than any of my above drunken posts combined.
-
Argh. I've been reading WD comics and watching WD eps for the past 24 hrs, I think my brain is turning into zombie-related drunken mush. Screw it, I'm on vacation and I'm gonna go have a cigarette. So, to recap: Sarah Palin is lame and boring and shouldn't be talked about anymore. And Maggie has awesome breasts. Thank you.
-
Enjoy that vacation. You are more intelligent drunk off your ass than Sarah Palin was on her best day.
-
And goddamn, Ed Harris and Julianne Moore look spot on. Ed Harris especially.
-
Democrats have gone too far left and all voters want is a conservative... Um please watch what is going on in politics right now. Conservative rambling hasn't attracted anyone. Now you have Perry and Bachman and others essentially going way over the top to prove how religious they are. If you think Obama is far-left leaning you're a fucking idiot and don't understand anything about politics. Sarah Palin was a fucking joke. Why she became popular is angry white people were pissed that Republicans had no "edgy" candidates. So she comes out and says stupid shit and they drooled all over it. Problem is she opened to flood gates to the destruction of the Republican party. Now everyone had to be loud and stupid as nails minus maybe Romney who is just sitting back and letting everyone else self destruct.
-
that he writes non-stories like this about her. So Burnett denies some rumor no one even heard of regarding the husband of a woman who's not in office or running for anything. Very hard hitting. Or maybe the scoop was "Even Fox News is rumored to be ready to decline a contract renewal for Palin." Really blew the lid off things with that one. And let me not forget the bit about that Game Change movie still intended for release. No way. NONE OF THIS IS COOL, NOR IS IT NEWS! What's next? Rumors about Kourtney Kardashian's bowel movements? Why are liberals so obsessed with Sarah Palin?

John McCain is a great American who has served his country for 50 years and almost gave his life for it. To me he has earned the right to be a little independent-minded at times. Despite his independence, his lifetime conservative rating from the American Conservative Union is in the mid to high 80's, which is more conservative than most others. And Barack Obama is pretty damn far left. He has had to give in on a few things due to the realities of the office and of politics, but he is a far lefty.

The flaming libs at HBO finally saw the light. Their new film is about the worst president in US history. The story starts in 2008, when a no-name community activist is elected POTUS. In the first hour we see him wreck an already damaged economy with a bogus stimulus package, then an "affordable health care" bill that is anything but. He plays more rounds of golf in two years than any president in history played in eight (fact). He goes on expensive taxpayer funded vacations every six weeks (fact). He hates one race in particular and can't hide his contempt for working class christian whites (fact). This film is called CHUMP CHANGE, though for a while they wrestled with the title CHIMP CHANGE.

The Republicans running for President is like the fucking 3 stooges. They don't even know where they are haldf the time and can't answer simple questions. They are freaking MORONS! When's the last time you saw a Democrat candidate who was a clueless bafoon? Yeah, never. We pride outrselves on actually knowing the facts. You drooling mouth-breathers pride yourselves on putting a rebel flag on your pickup truck right next to your gun rack. Yeah it's a real fucking mystery why the top 10 schools are in the NORTH, ha ha! Don't worry, I'm sure Mullet U's time is coming, HA HA HA!
-
This is the cream of the Republican crop. Well, there's Baseball Mitt Romney, but he is single-handed responsible for the loss and/or export of untold thousands of American jobs, so it's sort of hard to paint him as a hero. The jackass is going around saying "I'll bet you $10,000!" Not really in touch with jobless America is he? By the by, House Republicans have sworn up and down they won't raise taxes......unless OBAMA proposes cutting taxes, then all of a sudden those pledges don't apply? So we're all going to pay more out of our checks in a couple of weeks because of REPUBLITURDS! How in the holy fuck can they defend that? We are going to fucking DEMOLISH them this election season, just like we did in '08.
-
Ok, don't know why I am bothering but.... can you please direct me to the source where you got the following info? He plays more rounds of golf in two years than any president in history played in eight (fact). He goes on expensive taxpayer funded vacations every six weeks (fact). He hates one race in particular and can't hide his contempt for working class christian whites (fact). cause, as someone mentioned already, just you declaring something as fact doesn't make it so. ie. You are a an ignorant, close minded, right wing authoritarian who watches only FOX news and is the president of the Glen Beck fan club.(fact) You see how that makes me look foolish by stating things like that? Oh, and if your source for your facts are Fox News or Glen Beck then don't bother. Fair and Balanced. Snicker:) Not even the so called liberal media have the audicity to claim themselves "Fair and Balanced"
-
is a bitter racist old fuck who just pissed all over the constitution with his National Defense Authorization Act. by dahveed1972
Instead we get a dull-as-dirt fraud. The repub base hates his flip flopping ass, but they have no real alternative unfortunately.
-
... but you clearly know nothing about politics. the dems & obama's re-election team are not running scared, they are running *terrified*. the poll numbers, especially at the state level, are disastrous for him. he might win re-election, but the odds are clearly against it. Most TBers here are unintentionally very funny when it comes to politics, because they rant so often while revealing that they know so little. I've been watching it for well over 40 years. I expected Obama to win in 08, but his chances of re-election are certainly below 50% right now.

Occasionally everyone mistakenly says one or two words in a sentence that make the sentence flat out wrong or silly. Sarah Palin doesn't just say silly things by accident, she says silly things on purpose and mangles entire conversations. I could've let her slide on it if she'd hadn't said she thought Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11, or said asking a question about what she'd learned on her trip to New England was a "gotcha question," or said the fact Alaska shares a border with Russia gives her foreign policy experience, or rambles on and on about energy policy when asked a question about education because that's the only question she can remember the answer to, or uses the fact the White House Christmas card has a picture of the president's dog sitting by a fire as proof of some grand anti-religious conspiracy, or couldn't do a single interview during the 2008 campaign by herself without screwing it up...yes, she's an idiot. The fact she had to keep transferring colleges or couldn't finish her term as governor doesn't help, either.
-
Could Palin have done this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1-jasxb7NY 85 minutes straight of Pres. Obama answering questions from Republican U.S. Representatives...and CRUSHING them. No teleprompter. No mercy.
-
She's mostly harmless and totally incapable of influencing policy or winning a national office. Well unless Alaska made her a senator. The scary thing was that if McCain won and died during office. OK. I see the threat but it's gone now. She's so stupid though, so I'm not surprised that FOX doesn't get much value from her.
-
of mitt? of newt? terrified of whom? obama should not win reelection he will, because the republican party is now certifiable
-
So, why ARE you so obsessed with Sarah Palin, Herc? I'm sure that there is some witty punchline in there somewhere. And, please don't ban me for asking this time. I have been at AICN for 14 years (with the exception of the time that you banned my previous moniker) and I have never seen someone who was so negatively obsessed with a silly politician during all of that time. Geez. As I have said countless times, I wouldn't support Sarah Palin...and neither would most Conservatives. I do think that she is grossly misrepresented in the media, but I wouldn't support her nonetheless. Still, your obsession with her borders on the obscene. You wouldn't happen to be the crazy writer who rented the house next door to her, would you? Just let the lady fade away in peace, Herc. There are much more important things on TELEVISION than Sarah Palin or the occasional Letterman ratings victory over Leno. Just...let it go, brutha.

Republitards know that it doesn't even matter who they throw against Obama...
by Jaster Mareel
Obama will fucking DESTROY every single one of them in debate. Again...because he's got the actual FACTS on his side. The only weakness Obama has is his capitulation to Republicans for the last 3 years which has just wasted a lot of time and watered down his initiatives. That's why Democtrats are pissed at him, because he keeps trying to give those stupid, evil cocksuckers the benefit of the doubt and they keep snaping at him every time he tries to give them a chance. You think Bush would stand there for 85 minutes and take questions from a room full of Democrats? Christ, he wouldn't even let Democrats go to his fucking campaign speeches! Republicans are flat-out wrong on everything and they know it, that's why they fear the lie being exposed. The TRUTH is, they want to destroy middle America. It's evident in every single mother fucking thing they do. It's why they didn't approve this latest tax cut, even though the only thing they say they ever want to fucking do is cut taxes! They want to raid social security then spread the lie that it's insolvent. They want to lower taxes on the top 1% and corporations, even FOREIGN corporations, and spread the lie that America can't pay it's fucking bills. And how do they want to solve these issues? By cutting education and blowing apart unions that keep skilled, caring workers on the job. You wanna know why even when Republitards have 100% control of the country they NEVER do a goddamn thign about immigration? Because they LOVE IT! Why would their corporate bankrollers want to pay living wages to legitimate workers? Oh they may come up with some horseshit "guest worker" program, but we all know that just means less jobs for Americans and non aplication of labor laws! But see folks, that's how they see the vast amjority of Americans. We're just worker bees to them. We take their bags into the Hilton, we cook their scallops, we style their hair, but we're not REALLY human. And they feed us this line of shit that if we just tried a little harder, we could be just like them. They leave out the part where they inherited everything they have. Fuck Republicans. Fuck them up their pampered fucking asses. And fuck the clueless idiots that vote for them too. If you're too stupid to realize you are voting against yourself and everyone you've ever known, then you've got zero sympathy from me. Enjoy your smaller paycheck starting January 1st FUCKTARDS! ... it scared the living hell out of us people so dumb could come so close to the presidency. Why, did you think it was something else? We really must be a democratic society: people of all intelligence levels clearly have a shot at leadership. What that means to the success of America as a nation is something we need to figure out before someone as dumb as Palin stumbles into the Oval Office. Why do we have intelligence tests for so many other things, but no such qualification to lead the world's most powerful nation? You'd think that, after Dubya, we'd be used to it. Nope, it's still pretty scary!

Democrats are flat-out wrong on everything and they know it, that's why they fear the lie being exposed. The TRUTH is, they want to destroy middle America. It's evident in every single mother fucking thing they do. It's why they proposed this latest tax cut, even though they know it will do no good whatsoever. They want to bankrupt social security then spread the lie that it was a good system. They want to raise taxes on the top 1% and corporations, even FOREIGN corporations, and ignore the fact that the top 1% already pay almost 37% of the taxes in this country. And how do they want to solve these issues? By pouring money into a failed education system and propping up corrupt unions that destroy the American work ethic by creating a sense of entitlement that is not proportional to output. You wanna know why even when Democraps have 100% control of the country they NEVER do a goddamn thing about immigration? Because they LOVE IT! Because they know that they can coerce immigrants to support their causes and create an even larger welfare state dependent on the government to take care of them. Oh they may come up with some horseshit "path to citizenship" program, but we all know that just means less jobs for Americans and unfair punishment of those who try to enter the country legally! But see folks, that's how they see the vast majority of Americans. We're just the bankrollers of their entitlement state, which extends to their sense of entitlement to god-like status because they "care." We pay their taxes, get caught up in their high-soaring rhetoric, and cry for them on cue, but we're not REALLY human. And they feed us this line of shit that our effort doesn't really matter, because it's all the fault of "the system." They leave out the part where the system they advocate has never worked anywhere else in the world. Fuck Democrats. Fuck them up their arrogant fucking asses. And fuck the clueless idiots that vote for them too. If you're too stupid to realize you are voting against yourself and everyone you've ever known, then you've got zero sympathy from me. A small group of loud and very obnoxious bleeding heart liberal posters will be trying to figure out what happened that returned Obama to his old "job" as a "community organizer" in the corrupt streets of Chicago. I can't wait! :-) Romney/Christie in 2012!
-
You poor fellow! You still have LOGIC ENVY. You can't logically defend your inept choice for president because the nation has fallen even further into a slump since he occupied the White House! On November 7, 2012, I suspect that you will be whining about how the election was "stolen" or how the majority of Americans aren't as "enlightened" (*cough cough that is some weird smoke in your house) as much as you fancy yourself. Obama's butt will be kicked back to Chicago in 2012. Unless a third party conservative runs (to divide the vote) or the Republican nominee really messes up and falls for the ol' DNC ATTACK MACHINE (since Obama can't run on his own pathetic record), Obama will lose in a landslide. Obama won just 52.7% of the vote in 2008 -- and I suspect that more than 5% of the nation has realized that the emperor wasn't really wearing any clothes...and that the "hope and change" slogans were just empty, useless rhetoric. Hopefully, Obama will FINALLY be able to get a job once he moves back to Chicago. Even on White House stationary, his resume is very thin...and he might have a difficult time getting a good reference.

the top 1% already pay almost 37% of the taxes in this country
by Jaster Mareel
You do realize that the top 1% controlls 1/3 the GDP right? So considering that 37% isn't even fucking NOTICED has no bearing? Do you realize that people in the top 1% use public entities (roads for transport, FDA, FAA, ports, Homeland Security, etc.) like a fucking BILLION times more than the poor or middle class? And how about all the MASSIVE tax breaks and loopholes they get? Can I claim I'm a foreign corporation so I don't have to pay taxes? What about the $15BILLION a year the oil companies get despite being the richest entities in the history of the fucking planet? Shit, a lot of the biggest blue chip companies get TAX REBATES! Can I get that? No? but that's fair right? RIIIIIGHT. Yeah, those poor, poor super-rich. They're oh so picked on, despite paying the lowest taxes SINCE THE FUCKING 50'S! And what eveidence is there that low taxes do fucking ANYTHING other than line the pockets of the super rich anyway? You DO realize that the Bush tax cuts have been in place for 11 years right? Let me ask you something....where's all those fucking jobs they were supposed to create? Oh right....that was total bullshit, just like everything else Republitards vomit up. It's not difficult to see how it works. Big corporations buy Republitards. Republitards go to mouth-breathing inbreds shit-eaters and tell them that giant multinational corporations that dump billions of gallons of oil into our ocean are actually the good guys, and we should all just open our wallets and hand it all over to them. And our kids don't really need any sort of quality education do they? Nah, just take that money and give it to corporations instead. Do you need quality health care? Of course not! Just take all that money and hand it to corporations. Do we need repaired bridges and highways? Fuck no! Let them bitches fall, along with the levies. Just give all that money to Donald Trump, cuz he needs it. Why do we need our food inspected? So there's feces and salmonella in it, so fucking what? Just take that money and give it to corporations. Same with eall environmental standards, kids toys from fucking China, etc. Strip mine the whole fucking planet, toxify the earth, the water, the air. Who gives a fuck if the entire scientific communityy says global warming is real and caused by pollution. Fuck 'em! Let the Earth just dfucking burn! As long as the super rich get even richer in the process, THAT'S ALL THAT FUCKING MATTERS!
-
Yeah McCain got a temporary boost because at first it seemed an interesting choice ... like maybe the older white men that are the face of the Republican party had evolved to at least consider leadership by someone other than an older white man. Then Palin started talking, and it didn't seem like such an interesting choice anymore.
-
Thank you for speaking the fucking truth.
-
There really wasn't anything wrong with most of what she said. And her Katie Couric interview was about a thousand times better than Biden's was, when he claimed that when the market crashed in 1929, FDR went on TV and told us how things were.
-
Didn't the latter fat fuck drop out and isn't Romney a Moron, the people who believed that black people were animals until conveniently in the 1970s when God apparently changed his mind? Yeah, great choice.
-
I've come to realise its all BS
-
And EITHER of them would be a step up over the MORON-IN-CHIEF currently living in the White House and making an even greater mess of things! Obama: ONE & DONE!
-
...both sides have developed a great ability to demonize the other side, but there is nothing even the slightest bit original in the kind of grade-school mockery that passes for political rhetoric online. Tossing around terms like "fucktards" does absolutely nothing to raise the level of debate. This is the legacy of the Internet: we have raised a generation of people who believe the most effective form of political advocacy is to call your opponent "evil" and accuse them of having no goal other than to destroy the country and promote their own self-interests. So keep tossing your words around Internet talkbacks, folks. It's the just the verbal form of your other main activity on the 'net anyway.

Insane Mccain was already chosen by our Zionist masters for his slavish devotion to Israel. Same as Obama. None of these clowns could get elected as class clown otherwise. Thats why you see so many hit pieces targeting Ron Paul today.

But he's also the smartest person on this thread.

...reminds me why I rarely visit this site anymore. Came here regularly since 98 or so. You know, when AICN actually reported scoops instead of random bouts of vitriol. If I wanted to watch a "Republican" bash a Republican, I'd listen to Scott Brown, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, John McCain, Joe Scarborough, Michael Jerconish, etc.
-
Do they speak Austrian in Austria? No. Is Europe a country? No. Are there 57 states? No. Is Hawaii in Asia? No. Is it 2008? No. Is there an English embassy in Iran? No. Can you see the coast of Russia along portions of the Alaskan coastline? ... why, yes. Yes, you can. Somehow this fuzzy math results in Chairman O being brilliant and private citizen Palin being an idiot in the "Republican" mind of Jercules.
-
He wants the map lines redrawn to the 60s, which would severely weaken the country. How does that, along with making Bebe leave via the trash route from with White House, result in Chairman Obeyme being devoted to Israel in your glittering jewel of a colossally ignorant mind?

Dumb hippy welfare drama queens who think they are "entitled" to handouts from the rich because they are too freaking STUPID to get an education and get a job. If you need a measly $40 from a payroll tax cut to survive because you were too dumb to put together a savings account, you must be a total retard. I hope these neanderthal OWS protestors freeze to death this winter. Voting straight Tea Party in 2012, ans Sarah Palin is HOT. And she and Todd are a lot richer than Harry and the libtards that frequent AICN, LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.

Obama was president of Harvard Law Review before he graduated Harvard Law School Summa Cum Laude. He went on to teach constitutional law. Palin was a beauty contestant before she became a local sportscaster. Then she claimed David Letterman likes to tell jokes about rape.

It's an HBO movie - ON TV - with a trailer. Some of you people are so fucking Palin.

but you're a happy tool, so i don't begrudge your happiness. we must all get happiness wherever we can find it. in your case, you've achieved a dittohead kind of happiness...that special kind of happiness that a mongoloid child gets from rubbing feces all over himself then basking in the smell. i hope your evening happiness is smooth, creamy, and spreads evenly all over you, and while you're enjoying the aroma, say hi to obama that turd farmer, palin that punch line, and the left wing paultards who don't read up enough about the people they blindly endorse.

1) This post is BARELY political in nature. There is no discussion of taxes or the war effort or the Affordable Health Care Act. If you look closely you'll discover this post is about Sarah Palin's TV career and a looming HBO movie. 2) I've been posting posts of this ilk on a fairly regular basis since the Clinton Administration. Kindly stop feigning surprise every time I post a new one. And stop threatening to stop reading this column and just stop reading already. 3) I said, "good day!"

I like your columns. I'm sure you're a great guy. But to write ANYTHING about Sarah Palin and claim it's not political is either self delusion or a lie. I don't believe your self deluded. You brought the campfire logs. You put them in place. You lit the fire. Don't stand there and go, "Gee where did that fire come from?"
-
I know which one I'd have sex with at least... And I mean the feminine one... That's Palin by the way!
-
and I do respect you -- any big fan of both Woody Allen and BRIDESHEAD REVISITED is all right in my book -- you can't deny you appear weirdly obsessed witrh Palin. If not, your mention of GAME CHANGE would at least acknowledge the other half of the plot, i.e. Obama/Biden. I remember when the book came out, Entertainment Weekly actually complained that it made Palin look too GOOD. I'd seen the 60 Minutes piece on GAME CHANGE, and assumed that the whole book was about what an ape Palin was: not realizing Africa was a continent (this from disgruntled McCain campaign workers, arguably not the best source), unable to function in debate prep, etc; but in fact 60 Minutes (sort of like you) focused exclusively and negatively on Palin, when she's only a part of the story -- and according to EW, not really shown as the neanderthal they were hoping for. BTW, Newsweek had a cover story on Palin a while back, by Peter Boyer, a writer from The New Yorker (therefore not, I would presume, a knuckle-dragging conservative), which actually treated her as a human being. The story was sometimes complimentary, sometimes critical, and portrayed her as a quirky, tough, exasperating, but wholly credible figure. Any Palin-hater should check it out: it might disabuse you of your frenzied rage. She's not the monster you want her to be. Oh, finally, a favorite factoid of mine, re: 60 Minutes and the eeeeevil Republicans: According to a story they did on George W. Bush (once he was safely out of office, as I recall!), he is personally responsible for saving 1,000,000 lives in Africa due to his monumental pledge of AIDS funding. They actually said that: he is PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR SAVING ONE MILLION LIVES. But yes, all "Republiturds" only want to destroy the earth and get rich. (I'm not saying you think that, Herc, but some of your fellow travelers do.) Okay, gonna go watch one of the THIN MAN movies on TCM. Merry Christmas, all!
-
How is Obama making a worse mess of things?
-
as i said, obama's poll #s are awful. liberals know this. kiddies on this site & elsewhere can keep their heads in the sand- so what? they probably thought jimmy carter would be re-elected too.
-
There's something you said I can agree with: "Both sides have developed a great ability to demonize the other ... Tossing around terms like 'fucktards' does absolutely nothing to raise the level of debate." But in your previous post: "The TRUTH is, they want to destroy middle America ... Fuck Democrats. Fuck them up their arrogant fucking asses." Okay so you didn't say fucktard, but Democrats might have felt a little demonized. You might even agree that wasn't raising the level of debate. Hey I get a full head of steam too, and say shit I regret. However, I do not regret saying Sarah Palin is a fucking idiot.
-
I was actually quoting, or borrowing language from, wrath_of_fett. I took his ridiculous ranting post and just changed the position from left to right in an attempt to show how ridiculous and pointless that form of debate can be. Unfortunately, with the whole "only open posts you want to see" thing here at AICN, that may have been somewhat lost. Sorry 'bout that.

by ttomato
Only some of the things that come out of her vagina are retarded.
-
but when Herc brings up Palin (or a 60 Minutes segment & the like) , it has already gotten play or will GET play on every other TV site including AV Club, EW, LA Times blog, HitFix & others. Herc may give the pot a stir but its the politically charged TBers that egg it on; that add their own ingredients. Harry, Herc, Quint & the others with their lack moderation have made some of you feel like "at home" here; like they are coming into YOUR house & talking shit. That is backwards.

-
What is the deal with your lousy political system. You have the Democrats trying to make a difference to the majority of americans and the Republicans who are busy blocking and shoring up the support from the wealthy and protestant, trying to convince those they need to take power that they are doing it all for them, when it couldn't be further from the truth. And sadder still is that you've got two parties to choose from, right wing conservative or the republicans... The two party system, the lobby groups, they are strangling the states and so the world.
-
As soon as Obama is out of office, there will be plenty of TV/movies about him. Primary Colors, that one with Josh Brolin as Bush that no one watched, Game Changer...Hollywood isn't going to get so decisive with a sitting President.
-
I hadn't thought of it that way in a long time (we being in THEIR house, etc), and I find myself having to re-think my attitude while here. But having spent a good 13-plus years here, (sometimes daily or more) I get this slight feeling that counts for something. Certainly not any privilege or special treatment, but certainly something. I certainly do not feel entitled to anything, but these days it is feeling like there are secret rules no-one has informed anyone of. Or a rogue element no-one is keeping in check.
-
I haven't been around as long as you. I started lurking '03, maybe started posting a couple years after. But I have never changed my talkback handle. I'm thinking that maybe me, Shermdawg, Ribbons and a very few other regulars haven't felt the need to create another handle or had to create one because of the ban-hammer. Some people want boundaries just so they can push at them. As for the "rogue" element, they will sink or swim by themselves. One trick ponies who will never make a dent. I don't revisit here because I think I'm special. I come here because I feel comfortable. Throwing smack; getting some smack back - you take it too serious your doomed.

If this woman was never named a VP candidate and continued serving Alaska, where she was for the most part favored for work, then one day showed up at some woman's leadership conference, she would be lauded by lib feminists, etc. A working woman who made her own career in a man-led, burly state like Alaska, rose through the political machine to become governor. Politics aside, why is that such an awful, horrid backstory? If she wasn't filtered through the American media screen she would exemplify what most love about this country. Again, hate her politics, that's fine. One can't also deny that as a governor, she was substantially more qualified, politically, than a one-term Senator. However, I don't believe that political experience equates to leadership quality but a lot of America does. Unless that person is an attractive female Republican.

Bush one and two generally paid for their own vacations. Bush two at Crawford, TX, at his own ranch. Obama is spending four million dollars of taxpayer money for his Xmas Hawaii fest. Bush two generally spend Christmas Day at the White House, so the Secret Service agents who lived in DC could have time with their families. That's what a considerate human being does. Of course, Obama thinks he's king, so off he goes--and then has his dog Bo flown back to DC for a photo op yesterday. What a great leader.

You make a lot of good points. Could do without the "you fucking yanks" thing though, like we're all the same. I got two words for people like zacdilone and wrath of fett. Motivated Bias. Look it up, it might help you to understand that you are both right and both wrong. To me the root of the problem in America, is Greed and Complacency. Greed from certain people, and from what I understand doesn't even qualify to the 1 %. More like the .5% of americans, who have the widest access and influence to the U.S. political process and have spent several decades taking advantage of that access, which both the democratic and republican party have happily participated in because it keeps them in power and provides them with many monetary opportunities. They don't want to make the necessary changes needed to help this country because it is not in their best interest. Now, as for the complacency. Well, I did a little web search, see the link: http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0781453.html in the past 5 decades, US voter turnouts, on average has been 47.60 % That means that more than half of voter eligible American Citizens have not participated in the political process in the past decade. A very large group of people who refuse to, or don't bother to participate. That is a travesty. The idea that we as american citizens have a responsibility, a civic duty, to be well informed, intelligent and "registered" voters, not just for ourselves, but for all of the people in the past who have sacrificed and worked hard for this country, and for all of our future children who should have a future where they are provided with the best opportunities. No, this idea isn't even acknowledged, let alone, brought up in any debate. The part that has dissapointed me most about the average american citizen is that since the problem started in 2008 , all we have done, was point fingers and blame each other, and refusing to acknowledge our own culpability in this mess, Its the liberals fault, its the conservatives fault, its the islamist faults, all we have done up to this point is argue and fight about our differences instead of acknowledging our problems and trying to figure out how to solve those problems, hell we cant even come to an agreement on what the problems are. As a nation, we have displayed the emotional maturity of a spoiled 13 year old, and we have embarassed ourselves in the eyes of the world. This country is not going to solve its problems, until "WE THE PEOPLE" get our act together, roll up our arms, stop fighting over our differences, and work hard to solve the root of our problems for ourselves. We cant keep expecting, like a spoiled child, for both of our parties and the filthy rich to suddenly grow a conscience, ala Christmas Carol, cause it aint gonna happen. They are making way too much money to stop.

Interesting. I dont remember specifically blaming HARD WORKING AMERICANS! In fact, you missed the whole point entirely. I am saying all of us are to blame, because we fail to understand how important and significant it is to be INVOLVED IN THE POLITICAL PROCESS. TO BE INFORMED, KNOWLEDGEABLE VOTERS! And from what I can see silentjay, you aren't informed enough, simply because you only want to hear and listen to what agrees with your philosophy and you dismiss or distort the truths of people who dont agree with you, and when you refuse to see or listen to other peoples views and opinions and truths ,just because you are afraid you will LOSE THE ARGUMENT. Then you are being uninformed, close minded and are part of the problem. Look, let me put it another way. Say you are a carpenter. and a man comes to you asking you to fix his very priceless, and ornate dining table. Now, the first question is rhetorical. Does he use a hammer to fix the table. The answer is obviously yes. Now the real question is, "Does he ONLY use a hammer?" and the answer is no. The carpenter will use a wide variety of tools to get the job done. Just to fix a table. Now, we have a country with many complex, difficult issues to solve, and not only do we only limit our tools to two, republican or democratic philosophies, but we waste most of our time arguing about how we only need ONE TOOL to solve all of our problems. It's Ridiculous, we should be using whatever tools are needed to solve the problem, if its a republican idea, a democratic, socialist, fascist, who gives a crap, it could be an idea sprung from communism, but if its an idea that can solve a problem, then we should use it! in my opinion, "ism's" are bad. One should not believe in an "ism". You should believe in yourself.:)

by Jaster Mareel
You just hope and pray that nobody actually follows the link that proves your full of shit. No such luck I'm afraid. It is a WELL KNOWN FACT that W took more vacation days than any President in history, and this article mentions it: Here's the ENTIRE quote: So far, President Obama has taken 61 vacation days after 31 months in office. At this point in their presidencies, George W. Bush had spent 180 days at his ranch where his staff often joined him for meetings. And Ronald Reagan had taken 112 vacation days at his ranch. So yeah, Bush took 3 TIMES AS MUCH VACATION DAYS! Were you calling for his head? No? Somethign tells me that if Obama took 180 fucking days off work, you'd be frothing at the mouth and twitching on the floor. Either that or buying a high powered rifle to put that n-word in his place. You're so kewl Brewster!

We were fucking lied to, and thousands of dead soldiers later, some of us are still too stubborn to accept that.

Yet when asked, Bush lied as usual saying he didn't know where he was and didn't even give a shit where he was. So good thing Obama said on the campaign trail that he would get Bin Laden in Pakistan, which conservatives all over America railed againt saying it was irresponsible and war-mongering *stifled snicker* So who was right and who was wrong there genius? but of course, you are lying. Idiot.

Yeah, I tend to NOT support politicians who bow to our enemies and support corruption like Fast and Furious, Solydra, illegally selling a Senate seat in Chicago... oh, how about Blagojevich getting 14 years in prison. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.
-
don't worry, your post's purpose was not lost on all. it's people who take their politics so personally and defensively that see satire as direct attack. then, of course, when you explain yourself, the response is "yeah, well...that's stupid. nice hair, faggot."

The purpose of that post was not lost, just poorly exceuted, whth the same old faux equuivalency busllshit that idiots love so much.

so, where are the jobs republicans promised, asshole. Can you name one republican plan that will better America? I might actually be for something like that.

If Sarah Palin was a democrat, all the libtards would worship every fiber of her existance --

...a woman with actual accomplishments, ideals, values...and the whole "call the Republicans dumb until it sticks' doesn't work anymore, since all you libtards voted in the two biggest retards the White House has ever seen. And oh yeah, Palin always looks hot. Unlike prominent liberal women, who look like they all crawled out from under a rock and can use a year's worth of showers.

Not a palin fan, but guys, Biden is a constant gaffe machine, and Obama even calls him out!!
by xcornealiousx
He's a maroon as well. And you should be neary as scared he's that close to the presidents chair, as Palin could have been! As for state of American politics. The whole inside the beltway is a mess. Both sides are to blame. So you lefty fools spitting hate to the rIght, you aren't innocent, and righties, bush 1 and 2 are just as much to blame for this mess. As one of our founders said (john adams): There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution. George Washington also warned against this 2 party system, but 99% of you probably stopped reason by now anyways.

Some advice: focus on a specific issue and make a reasoned argument for or against. dont waste time trying to sound "balanced".

Point is, Palin may not be fit for president, but neither was Obama. At least Palin spent years climbing the ranks and making a stand on things. It's amazing how people are so fast to discredit a person based on what they hear from the Today show. Make up your mind for once. Don't forget she was only running as VP. Obama had no men to hire of his own, no longstanding connections or viewpoints, just the same cadre of Democrat advisors that have been swimming around the beltline for years. He hired Larry Summers for christ's sake, the same dweeb that every lib in the US wanted lynched for saying women were not as smart as men in science and math when he was president of Harvard. How soon we forget. And, O put the same guys in place that orchestrated the whole mess on Wall Street. There isn't an original thought in that guy's head. I would have given Obama about 10 more years in the Senate before making him a viable candidate. Don't be such a lemming.

Sarah Palin would shit on you before fucking you. OOps, that might be your preference.

I go to this website for the scoop on upcoming movies and TV shows. I don't come here for political rants. Of either side. I don't care if Herc thinks Palin is a god or ultimate evil. His personal political rant doesn't belong here, not on this website. And all it's done is gotten AICN readers to go at each other's throats. Fat lot of good that's doing. I've had enough of that in real-world politics. I don't expect it here. This site is losing its focus (entertainment and inside news) and credibility. And this story, and its comments, prove it. When you're getting "out-scooped" by the Onion's AV Club, and allow a writer to yammer on about his political views (that has barely anything to do with any entertainment medium), it's time to rethink your website.

And Julianne Moore is just the most interesting actress in Hollywood. Not to mention the hottest :¬)

The only "Sarah Palin News" I hope to hear from now on...
by Half-Baked-Goggle-Box-Do-Gooder
...Is her indictment for campaign money misappropriation, or her dumbfuck redneck hubby's arrest for statutory rape, or her going on TV to shriek that the clearly honest and fair election in which she just got creamed was the result of "demonic forces taking over the soul of Alaska" - Or any of a dozen embarrassing-but-highly-likely incidents that are lurking around the corner for that washed-up, egomaniacal publicity whore. Palin was always the Paris Hilton of politics, a shameless moneygrubber, idiot bait and the exact kind of unaccomplished celebrity that she claims to hate. Good Fucking Riddance.
-
I'm not a fan of Palin either, but Dems should not pretend that they've always given us "smart" candidates. For eight years they couldn't even find a candidate that could beat George W. Bush. John Kerry (who I unfortunately voted for) was as incompetent and phony as they come, and Al Gore was also a joke. It's been so bad, they actually put a guy in the White House who had less than 2 years experience in the Senate. Obama may be smart, but he is clearly in over his head.

...you might find one or two folks who can carry on that conversation. But the majority of folks there would either have no idea what you're talking about, or no idea what they're talking about. Political discourse on the internet is very similar. Occasional flashes of actual serious reflection and analysis lost amidst cries that "Republicans want to kill poor people" and "Democrats want to bankrupt the country." As long as people refer to the other side as "libtards" and "repubtards," I'll hold to my original statement.
-
Don't disagree that this is not a site for political debate, but your expectations may need adjusting. Aintitcool never had crediblity, or real focus. It's a bunch of guys that dig movies and have a site, on which they put pretty much whatever they want. Which is fine, for what it is, but for your own sanity don't expect it to be more. Harry's reviews are not really reviews, they're life experiences, including whether he farted during the picture, whether he had childhood flashbacks, and how many times he scratched his balls. And Jesus Christ, the typos. Once you settle into the idea that this is just a site by guys who like movies, with no real standards of professionalism or mission, you'll learn to just sit back and laugh your ass off at the talkbalks, and be content. Happy Holidays.
-
perfectly said Happy Holidays to you and the usual gang of idiots. Mad Mag

Most people get their political news from exeremely biased sources on BOTH sides, whether it's the Fox News network or any number of shows hosted by arrogant comedians that think they have some great insight into the way America ought to be (not to intentionally quote Limbaugh, but you get the picture). In a way, it's appropriate - almost "Democracy in action" since you pretty much have to be biased to make a choice of who to vote for - but the extremes nowadays are staggeringly bad. Each side uses every little change in the political climate to prove they're right and the other side is braindead. Republicans did it last year when they took the House and Democrats like the one up there are doing it - in this case, tearing down Republicans by quoting Obama's approval ratings as being closer to 50% now (whoopty-doo...) - particularly since Boehner's cave-in on the payroll tax extension recently -and citing Bush's as having been in the 20's - something that is irrelevant now, even if it probably is accurate, though I think that was mostly in his second term and reflects just as poorly on the Democrats since they couldn't even manage to defeat an unpopular president in 2004. The BIG hypocrisy is each side occasionally calling the other side an enemy to Democracy (for any number of reasons) when the whole point of democracy is to have a choice. Besides not being a total Democracy in the first place, America also isn't JUST conservative or JUST liberal - it's an experimental balance of ideals that may or may not continue to work, but has at least produced a system that can withstand these sorts of political extremes (at least so far) without completely self-destructing (at least post-Civil War). Extreme differences in opinion are definitely nothing new, either in the civilian population or within government, itself. Post-Revolution, there was even a large contingent that wanted America to be another England, with a King and all! That's not even taking into account the battles that raged over the existence of a national bank. Me, I'm generally conservative but I am NOT a Sarah Palin fan. She annoys me to no end, but one of the things I dislike about the trailer for this movie, at least (besides the fact that, yet again, it's going to reek of anti-Republican bias) is the suggestion that McCain's choice of her as his running mate somehow had to do with thinking that choosing a woman would be, as the title says, a "game changer." Even if that were ture, it ignores a lot of information (true or false) that had been circulating at the time suggesting otherwise - much of it on the part of liberal journalists - including the FACT that one of the highest ranking and most conservative members of Bush's administration was Condoleeza Rice - not just a woman, but an African American, for which the Republican party STILL gets absolutely no credit from people that cling to the idea that every Republican in existence is racist. Most tellingly would be the rumors at the time that Palin was a sort of last resort because, given McCain's "rogue" image and unpopularity within his own party, almost nobody else WANTED to be his running mate. Then again, I guess if this were a pro-Republican movie, it would be taking the same kinds of liberties. Still, it's annoying. For once, I just hope I'm at least partially wrong and this trailer is, to me at least, misleading in that regard. Palin must be extremely easy to impersonate because like Tina Fey, Julianne Moore is almost indistinguishable here, both in terms of voice and image (though the real Palin's voice sounds a bit less refined).
-
she only fucks black men and already has a cuckold white husband so that rules out most of us on here who are white guys... anyways, from the writer/director of recount? sounds fantastic. recount and margin call have been really great films i've actually rewatched a number of times.
-
Palin was the only Republican articulating the control of the Obama Administration by the banks, and the control of the GOP by the banks I should add. For that, all the lemmings on this board shout "stooopid" while Obama sells their future down the crapper to the Chinese and the banksters. Barack Obama is a front man for the greatest assembly of economic war criminals since Hitler convened the "Organization Todt" to rape all of Europe on his behalf. He is a puppet of the banks, and you all are golf-clapping his minstrel show. No wonder Palin didn't run. I am not surprised to watch supposedly intellegent people applaud as their chains are wrapped around them by the Chinese and the banks. She was telling you the truth all along, but most of you were too close minded to listen. That's okay; you had a future...once.
-
It's "intelligent" not "intellegent". A particularly unfortunate typo which distracts from your point. Which I do not agree with. You call Obama a tool of the banks, but is it any surprise the president following Bush -- who let Lehman Brothers collapse and sent the economy into a downward spiral -- would need to work more closely with banks to stabilize the situation? The world did not start when Obama was sworn in ... there was a whole shit-ton of problems Bush had left in our backyard that Obama had to decide how to handle: Iraq, bin Laden, the economy. From where I stand Obama solved two of those three. Not perfect, but at least he's solving problems instead of creating them.

You must have found yourself in an ethical dilmma when Bush surreptitiously used American tax payers' money to pay Iraqi militants a weekly wage not to shoot each other and American soldiers so that The Surge looked like an unqualified success, then, eh? That's right - **your** money went toward paying a wage to people who had killed brave American soldiers just weeks or days earlier. America, **fuck yeah!**

This is just another leftist nail in the HBO coffin. Peddle your agenda elsewhere. Or don't. I installed Ad Blocker Plus specifically because of the obvious bullshit leanings of this site's staff. Not all of us are going to agree with you, Herc. And you should be man enough to admit you are hell bent on pushing material that agrees with your perspective. Denying it just makes you look even worse. Oh and Obama is a slimy offspring of Strauss politics (University of Chicago you say?). As much as its impossible to prove you know damned well he is where is he because of his race and people like you who fell victim to the whole white guilt bullshit. <P> Obama lined eastern Europe with missile silos and got a Nobel peace prize. Bush ramped up the efforts to fight AIDS in Africa and got called a war criminal. Palin may be a tart but she's on the right side and the only reason you're posting this is because you're on the wrong side.

It was the Obama administration that looked over Solyndra's books and detemined they weren't solid enough, so they REVOKED the loan approval, which is why they failed. I always felt kinda' bad for the ol' Vietnam vet and thought he was good middle of the road guy. When Obama appeared out of nowhere and McCain got the bid, I made up my mind. Then Sarah Palin appeared. And opened her fool mouth. And my next thought was - HOLY SHIT, that bat-shit loon woman is a heartbeat from the White House. Knowing the country's luck, he'll die then she'll decide to invade Iran and we'll end up in a war with China etc. etc. etc. and she'll be turning to Fox News for answers since she has no brain, no ideas and no understanding of the world. [X] Barak H. Obama / Joseph Biden (D) [ ] John McCain / Sarah Palin (R) Congratulations to the right-wing. In the desperate bid to make McCain seem more conservative, they sunk him by mating him with a conservative pin-up girl. And they've created a monster.
-
If the strategy of the game was to lose terribly, embarrass yourself, quit your day job, drag out a money making farce over four years while your supporters are totally oblivious even after you finally admit you are not running for president, all set to the backdrop of initially attempting to imperil the entire country with your incompetence as a backup leader to the free world... ...then good job. Game duly changed. Luckily everyone else decided they didn't want to play that game, and she's left playing with herself.
