First Trailer For Quentin Dupieux's New Film Is All WRONG!
Beaks here...
When the 2011 Sundance Film Festival competition slate was announced today, one of the titles that jumped out at me was Quentin Dupieux's WRONG. How could it not? When you make a film about a telekinetic killer tire that begins with Stephen Spinella climbing out of the trunk of a car to deliver a monologue about the nature of storytelling, I'm pretty much a fan for life.
Unsurprisingly, Dupieux's follow-up to RUBBER looks like a completely absurd tale about a man named Dolph (Jack Plotnick) searching for his lost dog. Check out this brief, off-kilter trailer.
Okay then.
Here's the official plot synopsis for WRONG from today's SUNDANCE announcement.
Dolph searches for his lost dog, but through encounters with a nympho pizza-delivery girl, a jogging neighbor seeking the absolute, and a mysterious righter of wrongs, he may eventually lose his mind… and his identity.

I'm a dumbass. That looks alright.
-
I'm already sold. Rubber was fantastic.
-
Been waiting for his follow-up feature! Why does the girl at 0:25 look familiar?
-
the end credits made me LOL, no idea why. Fun trailer, hope its a good flick too.
-
the girl who plays Lolita in Jarmusch's Broken Flowers...
-
which includes some bad acting! but I aint hatin'. I like b-movies!
-
Rubber was 50% masterpiece, 50% pretentious, self-aware french GARBAGE. Also... Robert the Tire was the most compelling protagonist in any film the past year or so outside of Caesar from "Apes" and Hesher.
-
Beautiful score. Especially "Robert's Theme" and the music to the final scene when he turns into a trike and multiplies, rolling down the highway to hollywood... or whatever the fuck. EPIC.
-
The hot biatch from "Invasion" and that insufferable piece of shit, "Broken Flowers". The only redeeming thing about that shitty film was seeing that broad COMPLETELY NAKED. Vag slit and all :) (and a nice lil bush at that) Also, she looks like she's about 15... which makes that scene all the more AWESOME.

I'll have to check out that vag slit and bush! Wait! 15! Oh god.
-
Different doesn't equate to good.
-
looks amazing! actually love that AICN recognized this
-
"Rubber" was just that. Shit. And I fell in love with the trailer and concept for it... but very quickly that movie wore out its welcome with me. Completely unwatchable and "Wrong" looks to be no different. I wish he'd make more Flat Eric movies, though. Those own.
-
But in a good way. I think? I found myself giggling a lot... but awkwardly. I'm a champion of the oddball(I just heralded "Tim and Eric" to the gills in that other TB), but it even had me puzzled on a few instances. That earns my respect. The cutting of this teaser is pretty fucking awesome, and if its got William Fichtner in it, its scientifically impossible for it to be bad.

William Fichtner plus the guy who played a pedophile on Reno 911?
by BadMrWonka
Yeah, I'm there.

Just a few more minutes before AICN post a headline mentioning Kashmir by Led Zeppelin and John Carter

Quentin really needs to go back to making shitty French electro
by seagrass
as Mr. Oizo. Sounds like he did the score for this one, too. All we need now is for Justice to make a "film" too. Daft Punk's "Interstella 5555" is how it's done, Quentin.
-
which was the first film they directed. Both are great.
-
I loved PLOTNICK on the short-lived Fox series "Action", but this does not feel like a feature film to me. But I've been playing Skyrim for 20 hours a day, so what do I know?
-
He's a genius producer, and just released a new album a few weeks ago. I agree that Electroma and Intastella 555 are ace though.
-
I loved watching it that one time, but if I watched it again I'd probably hate it.
-
Wtf happened to Django Unchained?
-
is made by Dupieux and Sebastian Tellier. Dupieux is Mr Oizo. people often think he is a one hit wonder as nothing he ever did was as big as Flat Beat. As he just does glitchy French House that is not surprising.

There's only one "Quentin" I want to hear about on this site and his last name ain't "Dupieux"
by rev_skarekroe
It's "Crisp".

Rubber was good, and this looks good too (looks too much like rubber) Steak is great
-
...you sound like a fucking retard. Partly because of your desperately teenage reference to ladyparts, let's face it, you've bever seen any in real life, and partly because you're too fucking THICK to appreciate Jim Jarmusch. Fuck off.
-
...The Prodigy are shit.

For a second I thought the guy's last name was "Duplex".

Sorry bud, but i think you and i both know which one of us has never seen a CUNT in real life... So i'm confused about something. Referring to "bush" or "vag slit" is somehow "desperately teenage" or whatever the fuck you're going on about? Please expound on that one, champ :)

And furthermore... anyone who says something as epically moronic as "The Prodigy are shit"...
by liam
Clearly has awful taste in music. Probably some dope who thinks "Firestarter" or "Smack My Bitch Up" were there first 2 singles... Dumbass. "Experience" and "Music for the Jilted Generation" are 2 of the very best albums of all time. And that goes for any genre of music. They are absolute masterpieces that transcended and redefined the genre and have never been topped since... and by casually dismissing them as you have just exposes your blatant ignorance when it comes to the art of music. Try again, asshat. :)
