I haven't read the books, or seen the original film. I want to go in fresh for David Fincher's take on the material, and then I'll dive in to the other stuff later. And that's the way it's going to be until December 21, when THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO opens.
This is a TV spot, and plays longer than a normal commercial. With the ad campaign so far, it almost seems as if the studio is nervous about selling the film, and I can't imagine why. It has a huge fanbase, and Fincher can make these kind of films with ease and skill, so I'm fairly confident that Sony and MGM have a real winner here, at least at the box office. Rooney Mara looks like she gets the role of Lizbeth completely:
