AICN Toys

John Ary here with a quick look at a few action figure lines that are making headlines this week...

Bespin Luke Skywalker from Hot Toys

Sideshow Collectibles posted this teaser on its production blog. Few details have been announced about the 1/6 scale figure, but Hot Toys has been showing it off at toy shows overseas. Here’s a pic of Luke from the 2011 Ani-Com and Games convention in Hong Kong. Hopefully we’ll know more about it next few weeks.

The Walking Dead TV Series 1 from McFarlane Toys

These 6-inch figures based on The Walking Dead television show feature Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, the Zombie Walker and Zombie Biter. McFarlane Toys will also sell an exclusive black and white version of Rick Grimes at Toys R Us. Look for all of these in late November. They are also available for pre-order here.

Play Arts Kai Cammy and Akuma from Square Enix

Check out these new pics of the upcoming ultra-articulated Super Street Fighter IV figures of Cammy and Gouki (Akuma). Each stands between 7 and 8-inches tall and will cost around $60 when they release in March. They are up for pre-order here. We have more pics of them posted on the Articulation Times website.

G.I. Joe Renegades Storm Shadow from Hasbro

ACToys.com has the first look at the upcoming Renegades version of Storm Shadow from Hasbro. According to Entertainment Earth it will release in December.

DC Universe All-Stars from Mattel

MattyCollector.com posted new pics of its upcoming DC Universe-themed retail line. Larfleeze, Superboy Prime, Flashpoint Plastic Man, and Batman Beyond have all been designed especially to complement the new DC Universe Club Infinite Earths figures. Look for these next year.

And finally, we take a look at a variant figure from Mattel's Batman Legacy line. Here's my review of Arkham City Batman with a classic paint job...

That's it this week. For more toy updates and action figure reviews, you can follow me on ArticulationTimes.com, Twitter, Facebook and Youtube. Keep collecting!

    As a toy collector...

    by Voice O. Reason

...I appreciate DC always putting out more obscure characters for sale, although I feel bad when I go to Target or Walmart and see a dozen Kamandi figures sitting there collecting dust.

Why is Luke Skywalker at a strip club?

    Ah Yellow Octave Batman..

    by steverogers5

That's a nice figure, and I do miss that look. Really was hoping that Bruce was gonna keep the yellow octave after Grant Morrison brought him back in the comic. But DC pressing the reset button again trashed that idea. (Sigh!) It is my favourite variant in Arkham City, to the extent that I had to order it from the one place online that would give you a code to get it in the UK. Unfortunately of course, have since discovered that you can't play as the damned varaiant until you complete the game on one of the harder settings no less. Still haven't managed that, and not being a hard core gamer don't know that I ever will. So of course, feel like an idiot now, LOL!

    Where is his hat??

  • to ...shall we say...less than super reviews. http://www.supermanhomepage.com/news.php?readmore=10539&c_start=0 i know its a fan flick and the FX, acting, story, etc aint going to be exactly hollywood standards but i had to turn it off after about 10 mins...the kid in the lake...and supermans suit! (why couldnt they get one of the great Reeve replicas around instead of a halloween costume?) i think people are annoyed as they were led on to expecting something ALOT better and professional, especially after the director had talked the project up in this interview : http://www.jarrod.co.za/blog/2011/10/interview-superman-requiem-director-gene-fallaize/

Good for Greg. I met a make-up artist who once worked with Greg and said he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

    'Superman: Requiem'

    by NightArrows

  • Nov. 14, 2011, 3:25 p.m. CST

    HAHAHAHAHA

    by NightArrows

Tards are actually saying that piece of shit Requiem "totally kicks the butt of Superman Returns" HAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA What a delusional camp of mongoloids. I don't give a shit if Returns wasn't your cup of tea, in no way was that pathetic fan film even close to being one tenth as good as Superman Returns. Some people are too stupid to live.

@dogsoup Not sure what you mean by "serious,"

    by Dennis_Moore

(not a stylized cartoon?) but there was a recent Batman Beyond comic book series of the past two years: http://tinyurl.com/6n8awls

  • Nov. 15, 2011, 3:42 a.m. CST

That's what I'm talkin about. But even more so...

    by DOGSOUP

http://tinyurl.com/7cqkfzu And yes by "serious" I did indeed mean a look that is away from the stylized cartoon adaptation style and more like the art we come to expect from our regular monthlies. But hell yeah, new BB!
