SKYFALL, the next James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig, is now underway and the movie's official Twitter stream posted the first official image from the set (click to EMBIGGEN!)
As much as I'm looking forward to this movie, I'm not so sure this image is the best tone setter they could've chosen.
A few days ago, some not-particularly-revealing shots of Daniel Craig and Judy Dench appeared on ComingSoon via Flynet Pictures.
SKYFALL hits theaters late October / early November in the U.K. and U.S. respectively.
In the meantime, I'm having quite a bit of fun with the recently released GOLDENEYE RELOADED game on XBOX 360 (also available for PS3). It's a beefed-up, modernized adaptation of 1997's Nintendo 64 game. 'Tis far from perfect, but it's cool and it's solid and it's fun. The game essentially remakes GOLDENEYE with Daniel Craig in place of Pierce Brosnan (Craig and Dench bring voice work to the game), using current Bond composer David Arnold's themes in addition to a score by Kevin Kiner (STARGATE SG-1 and THE CONE WARS animated series).
Personally, I think Nicole Scherzinger's cover of Bono and The Edge's GOLDENEYE song - used in this game's title sequence - at least equals (and possibly bests?) the Tina Turner performance we got for the 1995 movie. And, yes, I'm referring to X-FACTOR and Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger...
I don't know how I feel about banishing Brosnan from the proceedings, though. I understand the move from a commercial perspective, but Brosnan was a damn fine Bond who both established and earned his place in Bond history, so...you know...
