AICN Toys: Medicom/Enterbay Han Solo, Rocky Balboa & Apollo Creed, G.I. Joe 30th Anniversary, Neca Freddy Krueger From NIGHTMARE 2, And More!!

John Ary here with a quick look at a few action figure lines that are making headlines this week...
Holiday Yoda from Sideshow Collectibles
"Have happy Life Day you will"... Based on a 1981 greeting card design from Lucasfilm and Ralph McQuarrie, this Holiday Yoda features a fully articulated body, a hand-painted head, sculpted hat, fabric jacket and pants, belt, cane, ball, sculpted alphabet block and stack of toys with a fabric drawstring sack. It’s up for pre-order at Sideshow Collectibles for $74.99.
Ultimate Unison Han Solo from Medicom Toy and Enterbay
When two Japanese toy companies with reputations for producing really nice 1/6 scale action figures work together on a premier toy license, this is the outcome. This 12-inch figure features Han Solo's overcoat from Endor, Droid Caller and Mynock Hunt mask along with a figure stand. He will be released in June with a pricetag of 27,090 Yen or about $356. You can see more pics of it over on the Articulation Times website.
Rocky from NECA
"You're gonna eat lightnin' and you're gonna crap thunder!" when you see these two new Rocky-themed figures. Wave 1 includes 7-inch versions of The Italian Stallion and Apollo Creed based on their first fight. They should run you about $17 each when they release in February. They are available for pre-order here.
G.I. Joe 30th Anniversary Wave 3 & 4 from Hasbro
The G.I. Joe Renegades cartoon may be gone, but it’s not forgotten. Hasbro has two new waves of 30th Anniversary figures on the way featuring mostly characters and designs from Renegades. AC Toys has posted carded images of the Techno Viper, the Renegades Cobra Trooper, Renegades Ripcord, Renegades Tunnel Rat, and Renegades Scarlett from wave 3. We also get glimpses of wave 4 with Renegades Law & Order, Seymour “Sc-Fi” Fine, and Renegades Kurt “Airtight” Schnurr. Look for wave 3 in November and wave 4 in 2012.
Super Saiyan 3 - Son Goku from Bandai
Bandai’s S.H. Figuarts line gets another Dragon Ball Z addition. It features an array of effects parts, interchangeable hand and face pieces and a display stand. Bandai developed the figure specifically for US fans based on the feedback from a Tamashii Nations fan survey. Sideshow Collectibles has the exclusive on distribution with a release planned for the second quarter of 2012. It’s available for pre-order here.
And finally, to celebrate Halloween, we take a closer look at NECA's new figure based on A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge:
That's it this week. For more toy updates and action figure reviews, you can follow me on ArticulationTimes.com, Twitter, Facebook and Youtube. Keep collecting!

That Han Solo close up looks real!
-
Is the moulded look of the hair; the skin actually looks like it has texture like real skin!
-
Appropriate, given the date...
-
Oh and whatever toy company this is it is the best and I love their products and recommend their products to all my friends and loved ones and sometimes complete strangers.
-
I wouldn't pay that much for a 'novelty'.
-
Check me the fuck out!
-
Right now!!!!

If you don't like them, don't look at them!

that along with the 3 others coming out are just amazing. i'm a huge fan so i'm probably biased but the detail on the faces is incredible. in the case of this Part 2 figure, you can actually tell its Part 2 just because of the makeup as if it were photos or something. they did a very good job. and since they made a figure for each movie for Parts 1 through 4. i'm hoping a next wave will have 5 through 8.
-
It seems to be in endless reruns, but last I heard, HUB was stating that it would be back with new episodes in 2012 to tie-in with the release of the next movie.
-
i was surprised by the statement that its gone too. i just figured the season was over or we were behind since we got behind big time with transformers.

If the news is true (GIJoe renegades cancellation) then I'm very disappointed.
by Stalkeye
Considering how the series is much better than Transformers prime. (developed by the hacks orci and kuntzman.) at least the final episode ended on a good note. meaning: no open ending with the joes still on the run. It's nowhere as good as Resolute, but for a HUB based program, not bad at all. YO-Muthafucking-Joe!
-
It's just GI Joe meets the A Team to me. Bring back Resolute!!!!!

Is that guy going to jack off all over that Freddy figure?
by Mugato5150
That was disturbing. I feel like I need a shower. I guess it fits with the homoerotic nature of the second Freddy film, maybe that's what that dude was going for but ugh.
-
Tried to skim around the Freddy review without sound, and all I could seem to find were medium shots of the fucking bald idiot talking for what seemed like an eternity, no matter how far I skipped ahead... and a few out-of-focus close ups of Freddy. Very good review fellas... really hit the nail on the head. ** The Christmas Yoda would have been cool for the tree this year... except for being $75. That's insanity.

Freddy wears a jumper or pullover, whatever ya wanna call it!

Rocky can bite it! I want that Apollo! Apollo Creed, the greatest character from the Rocky films. Thank you, NECA!

and you call yourself a figure expert..

interrupted the 25th anniversary line. They should give it a go again, so you don't have to pay highway robbery to ebay scalpers or online stores like toywiz.

someones done a great custom http://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/316207_277931838908325_100000745332095_910273_1574463276_n.jpg http://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/315747_277931842241658_100000745332095_910274_1990062512_n.jpg If HT release a proper Evil Superman with accessories (fake kryptonite, whiskey bottle, peanut bowl, junkyard stuff etc) maybe for the 30th anniversary of III (which is pretty much the same day Man of Steel is going to be released) i'll have to get it...

Always ruins christmas by telling people what they've got before they open the gifts... How does he know? He feels their presents.
-
Thanks, that gave me a good laugh. Almost as a big a laugh as the thought of paying 356 dollars for a Han Solo doll.
