BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Feature To Be Scripted By BAND OF BROTHERS’ John Orloff??

I am – Hercules!!

John Orloff, the “Band of Brothers” writer who went on to script “A Mighty Heart” and “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole,”  is closing a deal to script Bryan Singer’s proposed big-screen version of  “Battlestar Galactica,” according to Deadline Hollywood.

It is good news that Singer and Universal are hiring a Serious Writer (and one who knows his way around quality  warfare entertainment) to take the franchise seriously.

Don’t look for Kara Thrace or Laura Roslin or Romo Lampkin in this one. It is based on Glen Larson’s original 1978 TV series and not Ron Moore’s 21st century reboot.

Mind you, Universal is just ponying up for a script.  I’m in no way convinced this is going into cinemas just a few years after the conclusion of Moore’s acclaimed take on SciFi.
