I am – Hercules!!

The Girl From U.N.C.L.E. ran on NBC for a single (1966-67) season concurrently with the third season of “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.”

Its lead character, secret agent April Dancer, was conceived by James Bond creator Iam Fleming (who was involved in the creation of “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.”) as Napoleon Solo’s partner, but she ended up not being introduced until the end of “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’s” second season.

April has a partner named Mark Slate. April and Mark were originally played by Mary Ann Mobley and Norman Fell, but those roles were recast after the spin-off was greenlit with a 24-yer-old Stefanie Powers and Rex Harrison’s son Noel, an Olympic skier and guitarist-singer who scored a big hit in 1966 titled “A Young Girl.”

Leo G. Carroll played U.N.C.L.E. boss Alexander Waverly on both series.

Like “Alias” heroine Sydney Bristow, April took her spying all over the world and spoke all sorts of foreign tongues. Unlike Sydney (and contemporary Emma Peel over on “The Avengers”) she wasn’t much for beating up bad guys. Powers would go on to far greater popularity more than a decade later starring with Robert Wagner on “Hart to Hart.”
