AICN Toys: IRON MAN, MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, COWBOYS & ALIENS, And More!!

John Ary here with a quick look at a few action figure lines that are making headlines this week...

 

1/6 Scale Iron Monger from Hot Toys

Iron Man film fans will soon get a new 1/6th scale Iron Monger action figure. It features Jeff Bridges’ likeness, over 60 points of articulation, hands with movable fingers and light-up repulsors, LED-lighted eyes and micro ARC reactor, a chest that opens up to reveal Obadiah Stane, a rotatable machine gun on the right arm with LED light, mini-rocket launchers on the left arm with a LED light, a cannon launcher on left shoulder, and two pairs of boot jets. This 17.5-inch figure releases in the second quarter of 2012. It's up for pre-order here.

 

Invasion of Time Set from Underground Toys

This Classic Doctor Who set features Leela and Commander Stor from the 1978 episode, “The Invasion of Time”. Leela comes armed with a dagger, while Commander Stor is equipped with a removable helmet and De-Mat Gun accessory. It will release in January. It's available for pre-order here.

 

New Masters of the Universe Classics from Mattel

MattyCollector.com revealed several upcoming new figures in it’s Masters of the Universe Classics line:

A redeco of the Sorceress will be making the convention rounds in 2012. All of the unsold figures will go up on MattyCollector.com in late fall of 2012.
The April subscription figure will be Stinkor®. He will feature two interchangeable heads, backpack, shield, all-new blaster and will smell like the original.
April’s Club Eternia Beast will be the Griffin. The evil winged steed of Beast Man® uses several of Battle Cat’s components, but will have a new head, rear legs, neck, saddle, head and tail.
The Snake Island stands will be the non-subscription item for April. It features a reconfigurable base and rock spikes.
Slush Head represents the May subscription figure. He comes complete with arm tentacles, axe and removable head dome that you can fill up with water.
The Mighty Spector is the heroic master of time travel and will be May’s MOTU 30th Anniversary Series Figure. He’s an undercover agent ready to serve the royal household at any time and any place. He comes complete with blaster and swapable laser whip/knife (not shown). He will be included with 2012 MOTU 30th Anniversary Series subscriptions.

 

Real Action Heroes: Cowboys & Aliens from Medicom

We have new pics from Medicom for its upcoming line based on Jon Favreau's summer film. 1/6 scale versions of Jake Lonergan (Daniel Craig) and Col. Woodrow Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford) will release in March for 19,740 Yen (around $258 here in the states).

 

Just-Us-Leauge of Stupid Heroes from DC Direct

Mad Magazine icon Alfred E. Neuman tries on several classic Justice League costumes. Timed to coincide with Mad’s historic 60th anniversary, each figure features multiple points of articulation and stands 6-inches tall. Figures based on Aquaman, Superman and Green Arrow go on sale April 4, 2012. These are available for pre-order here.

 

And finally, to celebrate the recent news of the Star Trek: The Next Generation Blu-Rays, here's a retro review of the Lt. Commander Data figure from the second wave of the Playmates 1993 line of figures.
