John Ary @ Fantastic Fest talking about JUAN OF THE DEAD & with the film's awesome director Alejandro Brugués

Hey folks, Harry here... one of the real treats for me at FANTASTIC FEST this year has been having a chance to actually meet John Ary, who has been doing a great job with AICN's Toy Column.   He wrote me just a few days prior to the Fest and I had already put my list of coverage into the Fest and didn't think I'd have more room.    Luckily, there was a last minute change that was able to occur and for the first time at Fantastic Fest - we have these really nice video pieces.   Here's a brief one on JUAN OF THE DEAD and my fave Cuban Director... Alejandro Brugués!

I really hope this flick finds an audience.

It's not actually a movie I want to see, but I appreciate the effort Brugués went through to make it happen. Double bills with I AM CUBA!

Does the world really need yet ANOTHER zombie satire?

    by Jack Desmondi

In addition to the magnificent Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland, plus rather less than magnificent zombie spoofs from Australia (The Undead) and Spain (can't remember the name), this sub-genre has more than run its course. Despite the rather novel Cuban revolutionary setting. I say put a bullet in the brain of all future zombie satires. And oh yes, make World War Z a fucking hard R!!!
