Julia Ormond Out As MAN OF STEEL’s Biological Mom!!
Mike Fleming at Deadline is reporting that Julia Ormond will not play Lara opposite Russell Crowe’s Jor-El in “Man of Steel.”
There’s no word on why the change is being made, but Ormond’s replacement will be Israeli babe Ayelet Zurer (“Angels and Demons”).
Maybe it was Crowe’s idea. The 42-year-old looks like this:

Directed by Zack Snyder ("Watchmen," "SuckerPunch"), "Man of Steel" hits cinemas June 14, 2013.

per the always accurate internet: milf denotes a sexually attractive older female, generally between 25 and 50 years of age. At 42, this smoking babe is well within the parameters of milf.

Did Ormond watch SUCKER PUNCH or the owl movie, perhaps?

But that dude can direct the living shit out of an action scene. He doesn't have any problems creating geography like Mr. Bay does.

I loved her in Legends of the Fall and then what happened? She's so beautiful and a good actress. I don't get it. I've seen her here and there once in a while. I think she's been on a Law & Order and she was in the cheap Lynch film I hated. But by rights she should have been in everything. Now she was in and is out of this. Is there a backstory I missed?
-
I forgot about that. Richard Gere must have been the problem. He causes all the problems.

Julia Ormond is the only one who made First Knight watchable.

I had a major crush and thought we'd see her in everything but she more or less disappeared. The last thing I saw her in was "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl." Unfortunately, time has started catching up to her.

As in, not next summer... but the one AFTER that? Yeah, I'll continue to follow news on this film that long. /sarcasm

Madeleine Stowe (12 Monkeys, The Two Jakes, Last of the Mohicans), who's in the new series "Revenge." SHe's in her late 50s, and I swear some of the promo photos made her look like she was still 30.
-
Look, folks, you wanna hate on Snyder because you didn't like Watchmen, retroactively hate 300, and think Sucker Punch and that stinking owls movie thing suck... that's fine. I get that. You wanna argue that the suit looks stupid and is just another example of Hollywood changing something for the sake of change, we're good. You wanna say that they probably only greenlit this sucker because Nolan and Goyer had one single brainstorming session and because they needed to piss out something Superman before the lawsuit interferes with their profits? Okay, I getcha. But anyone who says that the casting of this movie hasn't been a thousand percent perfect from the get go is on some kind of space hippie drugs.
-
cause he sure as fuck don't look nothing like Russell Crowe!! This is a great decision IMO. Ayelet is awesome. I would love Lara to have a more prominent role. It's always Jor-El who gets the limelight! You do know this movie is simply gonna be Watchmen but with Supes, right? It's even got the blue package!! Of course, without the violence, but the tone, the look will no doubt be the same.

Really smart bringing out a superman film after the apocalypse. Not sure it'll do that well at the box office.

What a hopelessly wooden actress. Synder obviously only picked up on this after he cast her.

Routh should do a Never Say Never Again style Superman film for xmas 2013
by CARTMANEZ
kind of a sequel to SR but do away with all the other characters (no Lois, Perry. Jimmy etc), superman loses his memory and like 50% of his powers (more like Unbreakable), no superman suit, set it in New York, have it R rated beatemup, gritty, violent, realistic, gangster/terrorist villains etc, directed by Q Tarentino (whos a big fan of Superman Returns)

Snyder directing kills all good things this movie has going for it

"Hating", "Haters" - terms that are frequently tossed around, especially when discussing Zack Snyder. Outside of the foul-mouthed, pube challenged punks that infest AICN, there are those that actually make valid points. Lest I be called a hypocrite, I admit that I have a mouth most foul, but argue that I salt my language with skill and style! As for Snyder, I have never been impressed. Simple as that. Calling the guy a visionary is just weird, studio hyperbole. Saying "Watchmen" didn't suck too bad really isn't a shining review. "300" was, well, uhm... sorry, but "300" was extremely gay. As for Supes - well, I was extremely excited for Singer's Superman Returns, and despite the obvious and somewhat painful flaws of that film - I thought it was great. I thought for sure that the missteps Singer made would be recognized and addressed by him in a sequel. All that wound up happening... in the comic book! Great story line in Action Comics that Richard Donner himself had a hand in. Anyway, the sequel that should have come didn't. It mystifies me why Green Lantern warrants a sequel and Superman Returns doesn't. By the same logic, Green Lantern should be scrapped altogether. Still, studios march on and being the trend followers that they are (never trend setters) a reboot of Supes is coming our way and I could truly care less. Supes is a character that is just made for the movies. I love the Reeve films and the serials aren't bad at all. The TV show is, of course, still cherished by innumerable fans. The Snyder thing just leaves me cold. Nolan's involvement in a Superman production is intriguing, but even he isn't a lock for me. I'm ready for a different kind of Batman - after Dark Knight Rises I will be ready to say so-long to Nolan. Yeah, he's great, but all his movies have rules that are imposed on the audience (as most films do), but his are somewhat tiresome, especially Inception. Inception, Memento, these are films with strict rules. So, what can we expect from a Snyder/Nolan collaboration? My expectations are demure. It will be flashy, with hyperactive cinematography throughout and the color will be sucked out of it - don't know if Snyder will go with warm tones or cool tones. Snyder is a tone kinda guy - doesn't like color. How will the action be? Well, Snyder can stage action far better than Nolan's blurry mess of a fight scene, but Nolan has car chases down pat. Weird that he doesn't approach a fight scene as he does a car chase. The cast is pretty uninteresting to me right now. I'm just so "meh" about the whole damn thing. Maybe once I see it in motion that'll change, but right now there is just an extraordinary general lack of excitement.

There is no way a Green Lantern sequel happens, even Ryan Reynolds realizes how bad it, and he, was...
by mdk
...of course in 5 years or so, a reboot could happen, but that's not technically a "sequel".

Kal-El is their first and only child and he's rocketed off as an infant - so while Jor-El being late 30s to mid 40s makes narrative sense if he's one of Kryptons most respected and influential citizens, the mom could be in her early 20s-30s. I think its a touching element in the story that when Superman sees pics/vids of his parents - they're his age or younger. Dead tragically young parents drives home the fact that he's an orphan. Brando was cast almost as if he had never died and had lived to see his boy reach adulthood.
-
one of the 800 things wrong with this. Another: Hack Snyder is directing. Worst of all, Brian Cox isn't in it.
-
I wasn't attacking the actress at all, just saying filmmakers always cast the Krypton parents older than the actors playing Superman - so that Kal-El sees/talks to people who are older than himself. It lends them a certain (unearned?) sense of gravitas. Whereas I always thought the visual of Superman interacting with parents (who despite being dead are always around in some holo-form) who are about his current age to be much more interesting and touching. His parents never aged, they're stuck at that point in time. When he chats with AI recordings of Jor-El he's listening to another 30 something year old guy. At some point Superman may be talking to the ghost of parents who are younger than himself. His Earth parents grow older and feebler while his birth parents remain eternally young - there's tons of material to be gotten from casting young parents,
-
Good Lord! I'd eat my left hand to fuck her.
-
DEAD-ON amazing in his role as BRIAN COX in 'COXSTRACAGANZA - THE BRIAN COX STORY'! Five Stars.
-
When somebody gives you a negative review to a movie that you were thinking of seeing, just ask them if it was as bad as Suckerpunch. That should give you a pretty good idea of how shitty the movie is.
-
She's hot. That's why Kal-El has an "L" complex -- a bit of Oedipal fixation. Trying to connect with momma Lara so he goes after Lana Lang, Lois Lane, Lori Lemarus (the mermaid in the old-school comics)...um, Lex Luthor...okay, enough.
-
That makes him Jewish as well. Just saying.

I saw SUCKER PUNCH recently, and good lord, what a stupid retard bullshit that was!
by AsimovLives
The whole fucking movie doens't make a lick of sense, not even in the supposed dream world crap it's supposed to be set in. Take the action scenes and make them into videos for some corporate emo-rock and that's the only thing that movie could be useful. The rest is just stupid bullshit. The only positive thing i can say about SUCKER PUNCH was to realise how beautiful Abby Cornish is. She was my fave of the girls.

DAWN OF THE DEAD: The exception in his career. Haven't rewatched it since release, might look pretty bad with hindsight. 300: Retard piece of shit. WATCHMEN: Retard peice of shit LEGEND OF THE GAY-HOLE: I couldn't give a fuck about it. SUCKER PUNCH: Retard piece of shit. SUPERMAN: Do i see a patern here? Do i see a glimpse of the future?

I smell a Zionist conspiracy at work. Allahu akbar!!!!! Just kidding. I really don't give a shit about this movie anymore. Admiral Ackbar!!!

...but in the UK "actor" can refer to a male or female as it's considered non-gender specific. (And all the feminists tend to get up in arms about the categorising of women).
-
Sept. 27, 2011, 2:20 p.m. CST
johnny wishbone, considering that the term actress exists for quite some centuries alread,y i'll stick to that. At the very least i'll know if they are refering to a woman or a man.
by AsimovLives
If you say that Jamie King is an actor, and if you didn't know who she is, you would think we would be talking about a man, wouldn't you?
