Want To Watch Showtime’s HOMELAND, From The Creators Of 24 And Likely Autumn’s Best New Hourlong, Right Now??
“Homeland” comes to us from Howard Gordon, Alex Sansa and Chip Johansson, all longtime writer-producers on “24.” It stars Claire Danes (“Terminator 3,” “Temple Grandin”), Morena Baccarin (“Firefly,” “V”), Damian Lewis (“Band of Brothers,” “Life”) and the great Mandy Patinkin (“Chicago Hope,” “Dead Like Me,” “Criminal Minds”).
It’s about a hot CIA analyst who risks everything trying to prove that an American POW who spent eight years in captivity in Iraq is The Manchurian Candidate.
Hitfix has it online right now. I watched it; it’s better than any other hourlong pilot I’ve seen this season. It’s a TV-14 version, which means they blur out parts of Baccarin’s spectacular body and bleep out all the “fucks.” But even if you don’t subscribe to Showtime you can watch the whole thing here.
The dirty version hits Showtime Oct. 2.

solid piece of crap that is. why would alqaeda need to brainwash someone when they can pretty much do that with their islamic preaching?? you dont have to be a POW to get affected. Plus what is the worse that he can do that doesnt already happen on a daily basis? bshhhh. its a dead end story, plus ever heard of SALT? that was more interesting, this on the other buttcheek sounds more like talky talky fear mongoring, you know, the scenes in 24 that made you want to sleep.

I'm willing to give a show with a good cast like this a chance, especially since there's really nothing else new coming out this fall that has me interested, besides that new Michael Emerson show, and even that I'm mainly just checking out because of Emerson

Someone said The Wire should have won a Peabody or a Pulitzer. It did win a Peabody early on. But I gotta say, Boardwalk Empire and The Good Wife were the only shows I didn't want to see win. Love the others in the drama category. Boardwalk might be the most overrated tv show I have ever seen. I love Scorcese, mob shows, and slow developing serials. But that show is just not entertaining. Scorcese won on name, not on quality.

....of a show, 31 mins in, the wife has gone for a piss, so let me say, so far, so VERY good. Homeland, not the pissing. SOLID cast, i mean really solid. If anything, i thought baccarin would be the weak link, but she's great! Finally a decent role for her. I did think she was slumming it somewhat with "V". I'm actually itching to watch some more of this, my faith in TV might be restored! hell, i might even watch that zoey deschanel thing now!

Promising premise: a Manchurian Candidate for our age. Lewis is a wonderfully disciplined actor, and he'll make this whole thing work - but I stopped counting the amount of amateur over-emote line readings from Danes. Wtf happened to her? OK, she's driven, on anti-psychotics, obsessed...but Jesus does she have to be so shrill and one note? Rein it in, girl. Whoever mentioned Sleeper Cell - I concur, that was a great ride that ended somewhat disappointingly.
