The David Fincher produced Goon movie still doesn't have financing, but there's a sweet new PSA to hold us over!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I'd love it if someone in a position of power would move out of their comfort zone and give this flick a shot. Everything I've seen from Blur Studios' take on Eric Powell's The Goon has been awesome. Clancy Brown and Paul Giamatti on board to voice, David Fincher producing... unless they're going after $100 million I don't know why this is a hard decision for a mini-major or major-major studio.
Instead of twiddling their thumbs, Blur has continued to do some off-time work on the project and have created a little PSA hosted by The Goon. I love it and I think you will, too.

yeah, clancy brown is pitch perfect here. its still hard for me to imagine a feature length goon movie. 10 minute vignettes definitely.

Now if only Charlie Noodles had the money to get this made!!!! Seriously film studios of America...I know you're afraid that this is going to be another WATCHMEN or SCOTT PILGRIM...but THE GOON aint like that baby. He would never hurt you. He would never even make you cry. Put this into production and I personally promise to buy at least 100 million copies of the DVD. It might take me awhile,but I'll make it happen...some way. Bonus points if the flick features a pre-movie short starring The Unholy Bastards!!!!

It's going to make some studio a lot of money. The awesome thing about The Goon is that it somehow straddles the line between cartoonish gory violence and mass appeal.

Seriously, i'd never heard of the Goon before i saw the trailer, and it looks awesome, but the sense of humour, setting and premise are all pretty unique, and i can guess the money men all know they'd not see a return on their investment. HOWEVER, i had heard of Studio Blur before seeing the trailer, and they're second only to pixar for me. If you haven't watched their short films on youtube, particularly A Gentleman's Duel, Rockfish and Gopher Broke, go do so now, you're in for a treat. These guys need to get into the feature film game a.s.a. fuckin p
