I thought the casting of John Cusack for Edgar Allan Poe was an interesting choice (I would have went with Clive Owen myself; he has that weathered and beaten look about him that seems suitable to play Poe), and the idea that Poe dives into a murder mystery sounds intriguing. Apparently there was a screening of James McTeigue's film this week, and Duke Hitchcock saw it and wasn't __________. The film isn't released until March, I believe, and so there's time to fix any issues in post. I like James McTeigue as a director and I hope they nail this. Here's Duke Hitchcock:

Due to a terrified letter from Legal Counsel representing THE RAVEN that doesn't want
you to know what one anonymous person thought of their film. They seem overly
concerned that if you read one negative comment, their movie will bomb. I can't tell
you whether or not this was a positive or negative review, nor can I tell you how positive
or how negative it was. In fact, there is only one thing I can tell you. This review has
been proven such a threat to THE RAVEN that the studio is threatening legal action.
That said, my expectations upon the film have now been lowered. _______________
