Lola and Edward Scissorhands running together on film'

Published at:  Jan 18, 2000 6:53:33 AM CST

Hey folks... Harry here with something of a perplexing scoop/rumor. Now... don't get me wrong... I love Franka Potente, RUN LOLA RUN was one of my absolute favorite films of 1999, but as best as I can figure... the only movie that Johnny Depp is working on right now is BLOW for Ted Demme. Now, I had heard that Penelope Cruz was playing Johnny Depp's galfriend in the flick... However, this may very well be a different project (though I don't see how... the only thing that I've heard Depp is set to begin shooting on is Ted Demme's BLOW), I have to say that Johnny Depp in the middle of a love triangle between Penelope Cruz and Franka Potente would be... fascinating... But that's just speculation... And remember Johnny... Just put your lips together and... BLOW

Hy Harry!

Just heard on the radio that Franka Potente ("Lola") is shooting a flick
with Johnny Depp this very minute, in which she is apparently playing the
girl-friend of Depps character. Unfortunately
I didn't get the title, but they are scheduled to finish shooting until
march. Maybe one member of your spy-network is able to confirm this?

    agree

    by hotspur

totally agree with you Bond. Almodovar should get an Oscar. And he probably will. At least the foreign language film Oscar. And Cecilia Roth should be nominated for All About My Mother. What was this news about? oh yeah. Uhm.... Depp rules!

    Good Lord

    by joe buck

I don't think I could handle Penelope Cruz and Franka in the same movie. My eyes would bug out like Roger Rabbit after being kissed by Jessica. Penelope was beautiful in Belle Epoque and looks even better in All About My Mother (great film). Franka is just a goddess.

    A threesome?

    by stephen dedalus

Dang, we haven't had a good one of those in mainstream cinema in a LONG time. Except for the Gregorian-monk-sex-orgy in EYES WIDE SHUT.

i hope she keeps her german accent...

    by l'auteur

...which i did not get to hear when i watched RUN LOLA RUN on DVD last week. My dumbass friends made me put it in english because theyre too lazy to read the sub-titles. When you watch a dubbed movie, you instantly create uniformly bad acting perfomances...and the script is different too. Anyway, as soon as i get the time, im gonna watch it again (by myself) in german. From what I saw the movie seemed pretty kick ass, but it was built up too much. 1999: The Year Hype Killed The Movie.

I hope they make a sequel to Run Lola Run and call it....

    by geekbasher 3.0

Run Faster Lola....kill, kill, kill!!!! Lola and her red hair was the coolest thing I have seen in 99 besides Heather Donahues nostrils! I say make a sequel, she has alot more running to do, this time make her hair bright electric blue and make her run around New York!!!!

    Franka in Blow

    by itsjustme

Just caught in again on the radio. Okay, what they said exactly was that Franka is starring in "Blow" and that she's playing a, not the, girlfriend of Johnny Depps character. So not necessarily a contradiction to sweet Penelope. Hasn't anyone seen the script?

Zabka and Depp to team up...

    by dirty sanchez

in the Tony Scott-directed cop-buddy pic "Hot Jeans and Maudlin". Zabka plays the heart-breakin', fast-livin', Jordache-clad cop known as "Hot Jeans". Women swoon at his ultra-tight, DARK blue designer jeans and Members-Only jacket with the sleeves rolled up. Depp is "Maudlin", a cop...on the edge. Despondent over the death of his partner, his cat and the 8-track tape fad, he spends his days chain-smoking banana peels and messing himself. Can these two opposites crack the case of a lifetime? Can Zabka chase down a perp with his tight jeans cutting of his circulation? Can Depp give up his beloved collection of Foghat 8-tracks and get back in the game? Stay tuned...

first you wanna kill me . . . now you wanna kiss me . . .

    by kenny79

Blow. Gotta love Bruce. If you have the Run Lola Run DVD, the commentary has her and the director (who I think is her boyfriend--damn!), and she speaks good English, though with a German accent. So I don't think there's much of a language barrier to overcome.

    Franka Potene to BLOW

    by rosemary

I think it might be true. A friend I just spoke to in Germany (via a message board) said the information is running on tv, in Germany. Penelope Cruz is set to play his wife, and now Franka Potente and Paul Reubens (PeeWee) are also part of the cast. Actual filming is supposed to begin Feb. 2, but it could have already started.

Yes, both are good actors, but there's one thing you fanboys always seem to forget: the script! Whenever I come on a TalkBack involving an actress's part, it's always about how you guys would like to date/boink/f*ck the lead actress. Grow up, please! I mean, I have those feelings too, but I at least have the decency to not proclaim them in front of strangers!--Saulot--

    Penelope Cruz

    by l. zelig

Penelope Cruz is the hottest woman in movies today... if you don't believe me, check out Jamon Jamon, Belle Epoque, and Open Your Eyes. I can't wait for All the Pretty Horses. Who is more beautiful? Nobody! The babe list to end all babe lists... 1.) Penelope Cruz, 2.) Heather Graham, 3.) Maria Grazia Cuccinota, 4.) Winona Ryder, 5.) Liz Hurley, 6.) Jennifer Connelly, 7.) Sophie Marceau, 8.) Angelina Jolie.

    The Man Who Cried

    by mr_ripley

Could they be doing reshoots on THE MAN WHO CRIED? Since it was filmed in Germany, it would make sense that he'd have a German girlfriend. What's IMDB say?

    The Man Who Cried

The Man Who Cried wrapped in November and the female leads were Christina Ricci and Cate Blanchett. Johnny plays a gypsy in this one. It was filmed in Paris and London. Blow will be filmed in L.A.

    Hey Harry.
Just read an article in our german newspaper this morning where Franka Potente stated she's going to appear alongside Johnny Depp in BLOW. So the film in question seems to be the Ted Demme pic.

    DV8 awards

    by cole-thrawn

Well, another D-VIATE award has come and gone. There will always be the critics who say,"It's all politics!" But this year it's much more than that. I'm writing you, the movie-going public, to tell you that you have been ripped-off. Where is Cameron Diaz on the inanimate object award? Never before has such an object so defied the limits of inactivity to give the performance of a lifetime as in BEING JOHN MALKOVICH. Who could forget her dialogue, her emotion, and above all, her raw ACTING. Who knew? Wait...Someone is telling me that she is in fact human, and not eligible for this award. Who could've guessed? I figured she was just a cardboard standee after such rousing performances in THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY, and MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING. One last thing, folks: The lifetime achievment award in this category goes to...THIS INANIMATE CARBON ROD!!!!! "Quiet, Dad, they're going to show a close-up of the rod!!"
