A THIRD Sarah Palin Movie In The Works??
1) There’s “Game Change,” the HBO movie (from the folks who gave us HBO’s “Recount”) that stars Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin.
2) There’s “The Undefeated,” a big-screen effort from Stephen K. Bannon (who was also directed 2010’s anti-Obama documentary “Battle For America”) about how awesome Palin was as mayor of Wasilla and governor of Alaska.
3) And now there’s a third Palin movie in the works from Nick Broomfield (“Monster in a Box,” “Kurt and Courtney”) which seems to imply, among other things, that Palin may have been too busy texting her cronies to be bothered with her job.
Find a minute-plus clip and Deadline’s exclusive on the matter here.

Did you have to bait the Palin supporters? It only further solidifies them and makes them more oblivious to the truth.
-
She's Dan Quayle with tits, people! Is she really worthy of this much of our attention?
-
everyone is making movies and talking about her while wondering why she and her stupid daughter are so famous and always in the news. starve the troll of attention --> troll goes away
-
Completely necessary.
-
Ok, so she's an idiot? Reporters camp out like its the OJ verdict when e-mails are released - what happened? If there is any dirt why isn't it out there? We keep hearing about how much of an idiot she is blah blah blah, she's so divisive blah blah blah - then enough with her already! If she is really as stupid as you people claim her to be than let her go the way of your boy John Edwards. Let's her join of his "two America's." Meanwhile, your celebrities friends are out there lobbying for "IP" enforcement that could also be a huge boon for the drug companies at the same time and they say fuck it! I need to make my millons! I'll lend my likeness and voice to help those jackasses in flyover country afford generic medication. Keep hating Palin because that's where the real crisis is -THE LADY HAS NO FRIGG'N JOB! SHE CAN'T PASS OR MAKE ONE FRIGG'N LAW - END THE BUTTHURT!
-
None of them will make money. This is mostly about liberal idiots pointing out conservative idiots to make themselves feel good. And those of you saying 'Dan Quayle' Have you heard Joe Biden speak? I dislike politics in general, but those you go hard for one side or the other are especially idiotic and completely hypocritical.

Why are we giving this woman the time of day!? She QUIT barely 2 years into her term as Govt. in her home state of Alaska! She is dumb as a F#cking Rock and works on one of the most corrupt, misleading and unethical shows (Fox we lie about the news) ever! I Don't believe in either side Dem or Republican I think there both in bed together and don't give a shit about the people but this bitch has to go!!!

Did that ever come out? Really, I would think that would be enough.

by Voice O. Reason
First, shouldn't Damon be entitled his own liberal belief, by your own logic? Second, was Palin attacked over her ideology...or because she gave ass-stupid answers to super-easy questions while running for a national office?
-
point made beautifully. The only reason it's not quite as hysterical as it used to be is that Palin still exists as a political figure. This in itself is absurd. The sequel to Damon's film presents itself: the folksy inbred fucktard that doesn't fade off into the background when they're supposed to. If not for McCain's stunt, she'd not in her wildest dreams have imagined herself as a remotely viable candidate; only problem is, when everyone else has returned to Earth, she's still up there, befuddled with grandeur and posing a flight risk.

Claiming there are 57 states, saying Austrian is spoken in Austria, saying Israel is a great friend of Israel's, confusing Muslim faith with Christian faith, confusing a breathalyzer with an asthma breather, saying P-E ratios are "profits and earnings ratios", saying we're here to honor our fallen heroes and "I see many of them here in the audience today", pronouncing corpsman as "corpseman" 3 times in a speech, misspelling Syracuse as "Sycasuse", signing "May 24, 2008" at Westminster Abbey when it was May 24, 2011, claiming that we don't need any domestic oil exploration as long as we properly inflate our tires, blaming the lack of jobs on ATMs and airport kiosks, saying "the time has changed for come", claiming the health care bill would lower people's premiums by 3000%, and confusing Afghanistan with Iraq when discussing troop withdrawals. Those are just a few of the many flubs by Barack Obama. Never mind the horrific record he's accumulated in 2 1/2 years. Yet some private citizen living up in Wasilla warrants the press sending hundreds of reporters(and recruiting thousands of American citizens) to sift through 24,000 e-mails looking for dirt that it turns out wasn't there.

How does quitting your elected position to start a reality show justify a presidential bid?
by Tarijeno
It just doesn't make sense. If I go into a job interview to be, I dunno, a rocket scientist, and I tell the interviewer that the last time I built a rocket it exploded on the launch-pad because I quit half-way through the build, I should get my ass laughed out of the interview. Apparently she quit her governorship because she was tired of her kids being in the public eye and because Katie Couric made her look like a fuckin' moron. I don't care if she's a "feisty maverick."

To defend the GOP and chastise the Prez. I'll take Pelosi over Palin any day.
-
The woman is a hypocrite, plain and simple. When the Republicans had the majority, she complained. When the Dems retook the majority, and didn't do shit for two years, she had the gall to say it's the Republicans' fault. The woman is the poster-child for partisan politics. Instead of spending her time trying to fix problems, she spends 100% of her time smearing the opposition so she can please her constituency and get re-elected in 2 years. ... that and she looks like the Crypt Keeper.

-
You're not giving Pelosi enough credit. Why in just 4 years as Speaker, she added $5 trillion to our national debt(for those of you who never took civics, all spending bills originate in the House). And in just the last 2 years, her net worth increased by 62%. So she's been quite busy looting the treasury and destroying the lives of future generations while lining her own pockets. But remember, Sarah Palin is the evil one.

by kafka07
-
Politicians are vile. Pelosi is a hypocrite who runs up the national debt and tells the little people of the world to ride a bike to work, work 100 hours a week, and pay their taxes on time. Then she turns around hops on an unnecessarily large private plane, flies to Hawaii, burns through tens of thousands of dollars of jet fuel, works three days a week, and spends the rest of her week at her vinery. Palin seems to be the opposite on Pelosi. Pelosi is really sneaky, and knows how to manipulate the system without being called out. Palin seems like she's literally making up half of the things she's saying. WTF was up with her Paul Revere story? The woman is clearly naive, which really frightens me, because she's proud of her naivety. Being stupid is so not-mainstream.
-
That is not a compliment. I could get into the political arguement, but what would be the point? Idiot conservatives are too stupid to realize that they're wrong. Sure the unemployment rate is fast approaching 10%, but the fault in that lies with the party in power, and that happens to be the Republicans. The prez may be a democrat but the Republicans own the majority in the House of Representatives, so the president can't get anything done. Republicans keep crying and kicking their feet wanting to keep things the way they are when things obviously need to change.
-
Which might be more of a necessity than any of these films and certainly more fun to watch. Naturally, this is the work of the ILLUMINATI! Their fiendish plot to tear apart AICN talkbackers and distract them from important shit like "Green Lantern" and "Cars 2" is working like gangbusters. Can't we all just get along?
-
that you believe in the same dumb ass shit that Palin believes in? Come on assholes--out with it. Is the earth really only 6000 years old? Did men really walk around with dinosaurs? Should Harry Potter books be banned from public libraries? Were the founding fathers all Christians? Is the book of Revelation really telling the future? Is Jesus coming back to earth soon? Come on, shitheads--who has the balls to agree with the twit? I fucking hate people who defend the obviously retarded among us. Stupid people and evangelicals like Bachmann and Palin are as much a danger to this country as radical Muslims are. Nationalize our education system NOW. FULL SCHOOL YEAR-- None of this outdated summer vacation bullshit--and outlaw home schooling. I'll get called all kinds of names for this post but not one of you--NOT ONE will agree with the questions I just asked. You know she's fucking stupid--just admit it.

Didn't the Democrats control the House, Senate and Presidency for over two years?
by Tarijeno
Democrats had the House from 2006-2010 Democrats had the Senate from 2006-present Democrats had the Presidency from 2008-2010 The Dems controlled EVERYTHING for two years.... what the hell did they do? They drove unemployment levels to 10% and fucked the economy.... and that's about it. Here's the thing about conservatives; they're socially unpopular and make sometimes controversial decisions, but they get shit done. Liberals hit the campaign trails and tell idiot voters whatever they want to hear. Anyone else remember when Obama got elected, there were people at the inauguration being interviewed saying "I won't have to worry about paying for my mortgage. I won't have to worry about medical bills. I won't have to worry about my student loans. Obama's going to pay for everything!" People actually believed that, and for two years the Dems had the change to do everything they promised, but soon realized that these things cost money. The US electoral system feels very much like a high school popularity contest. I remember when I was in high school there were always two candidates for school president: The popular jock kid who promised that students could bring CD players to class. That lunch would be extended by 15 minutes. That girls could wear short-shorts, etc. And then there was the other guy who was pale and boring, but he knew the budget and made realistic, albeit unpopular promises. Long-story short the jock ends up as President, learns that he can't do anything that he promised and ditched the job ASAP.

-
Hey, don't let the truth get in the way of an ill-informed Beckian rant. Tarijeno was on a roll.
-
Well Palin as governor did sell the private jet and let go of the personal chef and driver. Whereas Pelosi as House Speaker was using military aircraft to fly herself and her family all over the country and drinking over a hundred grand worth of booze, all on the taxpayer dime. Which do you prefer making choices that affect your life? I honestly don't blame the politicians for the state we're in. I blame the people who keep electing them. I see folks tear down public officials who attempt to reform the system, often with personal attacks and smears(just look at proevad's post which is comprised entirely of falsehoods and religious bigotry). While at the same time, a woman like Pelosi who was for 4 years the most powerful woman in the world and 2 heartbeats away from the Presidency got nearly a complete pass from the mainstream media and a majority of the electorate. And certainly the folks in her own district had no qualms about sending her back to DC yet again(must've been all those Obamacare waivers that won them over). We get the government we deserve, people. If you hate Palin because you believe all the BS you've read about her(like book-banning, believing the earth is 6000 years old, the rape kit smear, the Trig smear, anything out of Levi Johnston's mouth), so be it. But spare me your complaints about unemployment, gas prices, food prices, the tanking housing market, the debt, the impending entitlement time bomb, and neverending wars(including Libya now). Because the elected representatives who are overseeing this disaster had to have been put into office by someone. And judging by many of the comments I read in threads like this, some of those folks are right here.

So apparently the Democrats weren't 100% in charge. They were 99% in charge, and that 1% controlled by Republicans was enough to scare the Democrats into not doing shit? As for the $11 trillion of debt. Under Bush's TWO presidencies the debt went from 5 to 10 trillion. Under Obama's ONE presidency it has gone from 10 to 15 trillion, but that's somehow the Republican's fault, right? In fact everything is the Republican's fault, and I can back that up using really limited knowledge and facts I just pulled out of my ass. In reality BOTH parties are at fault. I'm just tired of listening to incredibly biased party members saying that the country is going to shit and it's entirely the fault of one party. For the first year of Obama's presidency he could get away with the "We inherited Bush's problems" excuse. But after a year of testing the waters, you have to man-up, accept the responsibility of your office, and accept the blame. I'm personally sick and tired of hearing the Pelosi types THREE years after Obama was elected saying "Well it's all Bush' fault."

Sarah Palin should be seen in the same light as Paris Hilton
by Winston Smith
Or Snooki. Or Kim Kardashian. Or whoever the fuck else, Richard Hatch... she's a reality TV star. She's not a politician. Regardless of your politics, she's as legit as a presidential candidate as Paris Hilton is. I mean, this woman LITERALLY quit her job as governor to start a reality TV show and write books to cash in on her name while it's still big. She is a reality TV star, period. And like George W Bush, I don't think she's an idiot. I think she plays up the whole folksy thing, and uses the fact (again like Bush) that she's not very eloquent AS A WAY to make people underestimate her. But as a businesswoman, you can't deny she can whore herself out like the best of them... like Paris Hilton. And yes, on a political note, it's pretty clear that since the late 1970s Republicans are bullies and Democrats are pussies and if the Democrats just had a spine half the awful shit that goes on never would have happened. And for all the hypocrisy on both sides of the isle, the Republicans have made an artform of it. Literally, to just see their "stance" on things and the way they manipulate people from Clinton to Bush to now Obama, it's fascinating. It would make the nazis blush. I'm not saying they ARE nazis, just that their propaganda techniques are fucking brilliant. I mean, hell, I've actually really been disappointed in Obama, though I think he has been getting better and I always knew no one would be able to do well their first year. It would be exactly The Wire, "here's your bowl of shit, eat it." And, I recognize that Obama is actually a fairly moderate Democrat, especially if you look at his general stance on most "hot topic" issues. But Jesus H... a good majority of Americans would hate anything he did. Like, seriously, name something where if Obama did it, you'd say, "well, I have to give him credit for that." I'm sure most people would have said capturing bin Laden until that happened. Even the Libya thing astounds me. You know what Obama should do? LIE... say Libya has weapons of mass destruction and anyone who disagrees with him is a traitor. It worked for Bush. You just gotta raise your lie and proclaim loudly that anyone who calls you on it is a traitor and a fool.

For the republican guys who attack actros involved in politics and call them morons, remember, Ronal Reagan WAS AN ACTOR

Ronald Reagan was also an actor, therefore, he also didn't had two braincells to rub together
by AsimovLives
At least that's the natural conclusion of the thesis proposed by the goppies in here. So, this means that thebig hero of the goppies, Ronald Raygun, i mean, Ronald Reagan, is also one of those idiots who don't have two braincells to rub together. Obviously, the goppie idiot who started attacking Matt Damon because he's an actor forgot to do his research about their beloved Raygun, i mean, Reagan.
-
...never saw this clip, but MAN some balls on you dude. Walking right into the wolves den. Good for you. I love how Republicans always act so "shocked" by those kinda comments, yet they have no problem making blanket statements about Muslims, Jews, Liberals, whomever and often don't even claim that they are non-judgmental, just that, "see, libs do it too!" You know what's worse than making a judgment on another human being? Making a judgment on an entire GROUP of human beings. At least individuals have actions that they have done, and they alone, and you can't prescribe the sins of others to their own worth as human beings. Prejudice really is sickening, and it'll never go away, only evolve and change. At least most people agree "slavery" is bad, though hearing the indifference on message boards toward rape and sex trafficking makes me think that only our laws have gotten better, not our mindsets.
-
...how exactly is America's current state the fault of Obama and the dems? While I 100% agree it's naive to blame it all on Bush and all on Republicans, as in fact many of the seeds that have sprouted into the shitty-Americas-future trees we're now overgrown with we're planted in the 80s by the most overrated President of all time... Reagan, a man far worse than W Bush (though Reagan's VP actually wasn't a bad president at all, even if his son, well, yeah...) But I can't help but wonder, how is it all Obama's fault? First, you guys understand that consequences have actions. Just because you run a car off a cliff and then give the wheel to someone else as it falls doesn't mean that person is the reason why the car is falling. Much of the Bush admin's policies and actions were destined to play out in the immediate 5-10 years from their inception. I mean, do you guys even UNDERSTAND the basics of economics? Also, the Stimulus plans were supported by both Bush and McCain, so if McCain won our economy and unemployment would probably be about the same, and even arguably worse. Also... Dems only had "full" control for 2 years, 2008-2010. Repubs had it for 6, 2000-2006. Does that not matter? And how can you blame the Dems (though they were pussies) for 2006-2008, yet you fail to blame the Repubs now for 2010+. I mean, Republicans have control of the House. Why aren't things fixed? What are their solutions? What, do they need more than just the House to do anything? Well then by that logic wouldn't the demmies been useless as long as Bush was president? You guys, blinded by pure and true hatred for Obama, hold a double standard unlike anything I've seen in modern politics before. Well, at least since Clinton was president and accused of murder. And when that didn't pan out, oh how dare he sleep around! If a dem does it he hates traditional values, if a repub does it he has to learn more from God and he's doing his best, right? DOUBLE STANDARD.

Affirmative Action would be used each and every-time her name was mentioned. Could you imagine the outcry from the right if a Black woman who attended 4 lackluster colleges, spoke slang, had a college GPA of 2.2, who's husband was a member of a secessionist political party, and despite of all of that was nominated as the DNC's VP nominee? Hell, Barack went to arguably the most prestigious and academically challenging "University" on the Planet, graduated at in the top 10 percent of his class and he's still be hit the affirmative action label. Why aren't White Women (who are the largest benefactors of affirmative action) ever branded with the "Affirmative Action label? Sarah Palin is the epitome of an Affirmative Action benefactor. And the sad part is, she's going to be our next President. There's no way that America will re-elect Barack. The Republicans have done a remarkable job in turning White voters against him, especially White Males. Am I ready for Caribou Barbie to be our next President? You betcha....NOT!

"Folksiness" is basically politician's way of appealing to the moronic knuckle-dragging troglodytes of the Southern United States or anyone that came from that area. It harks back to their delusional Walton's fantasy of the simple good-old-days when minorities and women knew their place while gays were piratically non-existent and the white man ruled all. Republican's use this constantly to sucker their brainless base into voting for assholes who run the country into the ground (see George W. Bush) or try to dismantle the country at every opportunity (see the entire Republican Party or Conservatives in general). I cring with every fiber of my being whenever the Republican part trots out one of these fucking ignorant cretins, like Palin or Bush, who plays up this bullshit rural act to cover for the fact that they are wildly incompetent, voraciously greedy, egotistical and outright fucking STUPID! People like the Koch Brothers find these dipshits useful as it gets Rednecks to vote against their best interests based on wedge issues like Guns, Gays, Religion or Immigrants. Meanwhile, those with more than two brain cells in the Republican party rape and pillage the country then blame it on those city dwelling Liberals who have to always clean up the fucking mess. That's basically it IMHO.

Or the illegal war he started against a country that didn't attack the USA and how his criminal organization lied about WMD's? Or how he and his buddie blew the cover of a C.I.A. operative as political payback? Or how the Bush crime syndicate illegally wiretapped people? Or maybe you've forgotten about the economic crash that only happened because Bushco. deregulated everything and then handed over 750 billion dollars of taxpayer money to their criminal buddies on Wall Street? Or how about the fact that the fucking retard spend one third of his Residency on vacation "clearing brush" on the fake ranch he bought before the 2000 election just to sucker stupid cocksuckers like you, 5minutes, into voting for him? Or how about the war crimes he is guilty of authorize in the form of water boarding? Of course, none of these facts matter to a dumb shit like you. OH AND 5minutes, LETS TALK ABOUT THAT WORD YOU USED.....FEAR......
by CreepyThinMan
You really relished the use of that word because it gives you pleasure to think that someone you support inspires fear in others. Of course this makes perfect sense as Conservatives are bullies that can't rule based on ideals like progress, as you're all vehemently against any progressive legislation, and don't believe in actual democracy (or the Constitution or Bill of Rights unless you think it supports your idiotic opinions, which it usually doesn't, see the separation of Church and State) as your kind in the US Government have stated that their goal is to ensure that the USA is run right into the ground by stonewalling every piece of legislation geared towards economic recovery. More important that the rich get tax cuts, eh? So spare me your pseudo-patriotic bullishit because you're a fucking retard who will support a political party like a football team no matter how much damage they do to the USA. So eat shit you cocksucker.

Who cares about these professional fakers uninformed political comments. Didn't Damon just get named along with his best buddy Affleck for participating in an illegal poker ring. Maybe Damon can explain to Obama on his next visit why he’s exempt from paying his fair share of taxes on the winnings, you know, to spread the wealth, or stop by the I.R.S. and drop off a check. Damon is an obnoxious socialist gambling millions of dollars in a luxury suite while receiving massages from high paid escort girls. What a life! A hypocritical life, but what a life anyway.
-
C'mon, Matt Damon is so much more intelligent than Sarah Palin it's ridiculous. I've never seen a worse example of a politician than her in my lifetime. When she's wrong about something that anybody should know, instead of just admitting her mistakes, she'll have her cronies try to change Wikipedia or whatever to make it look like she's not an idiot. It's despicable.

Matt Damon Has More Things to Worry About than Sarah Palin
by MarkWhittington
One wonders why this three year old rant by Matt Damon was even posted. Palin neither tried to ban books nor does she believe that dinosaurs were here 4,000 years ago. However, because of his apparently participation in an illegal poker ring, Damon is very shortly going to have more immediate things to worry about than a Palin presidency. maybe if he is nice to her, he can get a pardon. Just saying...

Well congratulations herc, you did it again. You've managed to turn this "geek haven" into a political zoo. You must be proud and can hold your head up in a bragadocious manner around the figurative Aint it Cool water cooler, pat yourself on the back and revel in the delusion that YOU are an invaluable employee of this staff based on the amount of responses you inevitably receive when you attach the name "Palin" to a headline. For cryin' out loud, you even inject political wedges into your non-Palin obsessed stories(using DOMA in the headline of a Game of Thrones post!) Your tactics are exposed, but sadly troll bait(your columns) are difficult to resist as they play to our base tribal divisive instincts. You toss a banana into the monkey cage and observe from a safe vantage point as the ensuing crap-flinging match explodes in a ball of fire. You then turn like the protagonist in a big budget Simpson/Bruckheimer film, walking away from an exploding cityscape and not looking backward, even for a second - Herc the Jerk with a smirk.

"Wasnt Hitler a Christian?" No he was more like a mystic
by AsimovLives
Part of what he believed was based on christinity valours, but mixed up with that mystical belief in a holy Germany home of the purest of races. Still, he wasn't totally into it all. The real nut about all that mystical stuff was in fact Himler. I'd say that Hitler himself wasn't religious. -
HA! Palin read a book! That's for elitists. I crack myself up. "...those like her are so forceful against certain policies." That statement assumes Sarah Palin is reasoned, intelligent, or has come to a conclusion based on some interpretation of policy. Sarah Palin's just an opportunist, propped up by Corporate Interests who influence policy through cosmetics and show-business. Sarah Palin's an idiot.
-
That's what Matt Damon found scary about Sarah Palin? Funny he's not so concerned about the current president. The press put more energy into vetting Trig Palin than they did Obama. The man's a cypher. An empty suit. And for every Palinism you hit me with I'll come back at you with 2 or 3 Obamateurisms. My wife doesn't do politics but she hit the nail on the head when she said it seemed Obama was more enamored with the idea of being president than the actual job. And the sad part is, she's going to be our next President. There's no way that America will re-elect Barack.
by Winston Smith
Regardless of your own political opinions (obviously you're not repub), I think it's pretty clear Obama will win again and the smart Repubs are already coming up for excuses why he'll win again. Why is it almost guaranteed, barring assassination or a major scandal like undeniable compromising photos of him with little kids or something... for the exact same reason GW won again in 2004. Who the HELL do the Repubs have? All they have are complaints and bitching. And you have to be careful, just as with Bush people started to think, "well he's not THAT bad jesus why so hard on him," you'll see the same psychology with Obama except for the die hard teabaggers. People will begin to ask, "wait, why exactly is he so awful again, and how exactly are the repubs different," and that means there will be no passion for any Republican candidate, while many liberals and even some moderates will come out in support of Obama who is definitely getting his footing as time goes on. The Bin Laden thing was also symbolically important, because it became obvious how much the people who hate our current POTUS would hate him regardless of whatever actions he ever took or what state the country advanced forward to... Obama has a lock with 2012, and he'll probably be a far better president in his second term because his own policies will start having an active affect on the country and there will be less runoff from Bush's 8 years. There's always a good 3 year transition or so, especially in tough times, and in the end Obama won't be judged by the state of America today... he'll be judged by the state of America in the 2020s.
-
So does anybody think that any politician is out for anyone but themselves and their party? Of course if we could get rid of all the lobbiest the goverment may start doing its job. If Palin or any of these nut jobs get elected I'm out ,moving to an island somewhere.
-
The problem is that Progressives never seem to get is that America can't work like Europe. If you just mindlessly plug the policies of Progressive Europe into the US you'll get something that looks like Brazil(in a bad way), but this is exactly what Barack and his ilk have been taught since adolescence. This is their grail. Hell what we think of as Progressive Europe couldn't have existed without America footing the huge NATO bill for the past 60 years, and that bill is now coming due for them in a HUGE way. So Barack will win, and we'll have 4 more years of a limping economy that the Progressives will be able to play the Hugo Chavez game of "I can fix it... just give me more power" with. The middle class will shrink just as it has in Venezuela and in ten years America will look even more like just another economically divided South American country. So another decade down the drain all because the Progressives are trying to achieve a Cold War-era fantasy of the ideal Progressive state in an America that, until recently was a fully functioning(yet oddly non-progressive) country.
-
America is unique in that we don't have a political tradition of well spoken political oligarchy. Anyone can and will claw their way up the political ladder in this country, so "folksiness" has always been a style that people have been willing to consider. Of course to Progressives who would love to see America kneel to the whims of a Euro-style overclass such "folksiness" is pretty much the most terrifying thing ever.

I'm sick of the double standard.--Obama has been a complete failure. I blame him and Bush equally. Bush started two completely pointless wars and raised the national debt by $5 trillion in 8 years. Obama has done nothing to end said wars, is starting a third pointless war in Libya, and has raised the debt by $5 trillion in 2.5 years. They both look pretty shitty to me.--Whoever said that we need to start blaming the people electing these morons is 100% correct. When you fucking dolts on both ends of the political spectrum stop voting for people simply because of the "R" or "D" after their name, maybe we'll start actually fixing shit in this country.

This is all about the liberal media's attempt at misdirection. Make a lot of noise over there so you won't see what's going on over here. Palin doesn't have a job? That's hilarious. She's made millions off of books. "Oh, but she's an idiot. People should buy her books." Riiiight...lots of people right books that aren't worth the paper they're printed on let alone warrant best-seller status or a Pulitzer Prize. "Oh, she talks out her ass!" I'll bet for every gaff and political decision that liberals hate I can find two for Obama. The only reason there might be a third movie made is liberals trying to play gotchya-last. "Undefeated" was made unbiased without her input or editing and it shows that liberals are making up every negative thing they say about her. The liberal media was DESPERATE to find something scandalous in her e-mails and came up looking like total fools but they can't let that stand. Liberals are obsessed with destroying her to make themselves feel better about their own failures. It's called Projection.

See, I have no problem with Republicans. I never said, "fuck Republicans." I have a problem with the actions of certain people, many of whom are Republicans, and you've obviously taken me attacking their actions to be an attack on them, which to a point it is... all that matters is what we do, not "who we are" to quote Batman. But it's true. All they've done is bitched and moaned, and the hostility they've shown to Obama is near dangerous levels, like, to the point where there's nothing Obama could do that wouldn't be seen as the ULTIMATE sin. And, to a point, you should have an opinion. This whole bullshit political correctness thing that you can't call people out for being idiots is absurd. The difference is, always have an open mind in that your mind could can be changed. Sometimes the Republicans do something where I'm impressed or agree... hell, Ron Paul, I disagree so much with his beliefs but I like that he seems to have come up with his opinions on his own and is more interested in talking programs and agendas rather than blind political attacks. And secondly... I don't think you get what "judgment" means. Judgment means a genuine hatred of the PEOPLE of a group. I know so many Republicans, most of my family is very conservative. I don't dislike them. I spend lots of time with them, I don't see them as any less of people or Americans than me. And I don't assume that just because they call themselves Republicans means they automatically agree with everything FOX News says or everything the Repubs in Congress do or that they think Bush was great or Obama is the worst president ever. Sure, a lot of them do believe that, but I don't blanket their ideology to them. However, I have NO PROBLEM calling out the Republicans in office for being by far the greater of two evils, for getting us into a mess and then stalling to do anything about it, and for attacking Obama on everything and anything. Please, change my mind house Republicans. Change my mind. And as much as I dislike their politics and their actions, I still wouldn't wish death upon them, I'm certainly not naive enough to claim that America would be a problemless perfect country without them, and I don't think they're all the same. There are exceptions, as seen with Ron Paul. There's a difference between HAVING AN OPINION and standing up for it, and judging someone. Judging usually means that you would literally treat that person differently, and also that many of your opinions on that person aren't based on facts of any sort but just random opinions or a general mean-hearted sense. Note I was a person here saying Palin is a very smart businesswoman that has manipulated the media to keep herself in the news and making $$$. I never called her some moron, just a woman who plays one for her own career advancement. And I feel the same way about Obama. So many of the attacks are based on blind rhetoric. I mean, how the hell can he both be a socialist bent on ruining America AND ineffective? If he's ineffective then isn't that a good thing, that he's not doing a good job at advancing his "socialist" agenda? I mean Jesus. No matter what he does, it's "wrong" in every single way. And hell, I've been disappointed in a lot of things, but I also realize that I'm not an economist, and that we're still in the middle of this. The stuff people said about Lincoln, I mean Hell, the country LITERALLY FELL APART when he was President. Obama may be seen as a failure in the long run, but it won't be for the reasons people are bitching about now. The 2020s will define him. If America does okay and gets out of this mess, he'll even probably be seen as one of the better Presidents and like FDR people will be bitching/praising/discussing him 70 years down the line. Regardless, Jimmy Carter he certainly ain't. If you want to compare him to another failed President, the closest he's got is actually George W Bush, especially Bush in his 2nd term, where he began to disappoint his own party people while the attacks from the other side were so venomous that NOTHING he did as President would ever appease them.
-
That's bullshit. Jon Stewart does have this one right... the media is about sensationalism and designed conflict first and foremost. Politically, anyone with half a brain I would argue would see that there are heavy hitters on BOTH sides of the isle out there. And hell, if it leans any direction, it slightly leans right, because there's more of a market for that. That's why the majority of talk show hosts and radio personalities (i.e. THE MEDIA) are conservative. Air America - I think that's what it was called - flopped, because there isn't a market for that. The closest you get is The Daily Show, which is comedy first and foremost and way more moderate, even though it doesn't have to be, than 99% of radio and talkshow personalities. But like anything, people always like to be the "oppressed" group. That's always how it works. Thus the idea of some "liberal" media existing and if only they weren't there things would be grand and truthiness would spring free, well, humans have been using that bullshit excuse since the beginning of time. I'm sorry, I hope I'm not being judgmental. Oh wait, I'm attacking an opinion, not a group of people. You'll never see me say "all conservatives" or "all Republicans" are this, because I can't prescribe a viewpoint to all of them. That's impossible. HOWEVER, I can attack all those who hold a certain opinion and say that, to me, they're idiots. That's fair game. I still wouldn't treat them with any less respect as a human being, because everyone, no matter WHO you are, has a few stupid beliefs. That's part of being human, and anyone who denies that probably is one of the most blind and ignorant.
-

"Undefeated" was made unbiased without her input or editing
by Winston Smith
No it wasn't. It was biased. It was made by people who are very open about their political beliefs. And SO WHAT? It was what it was. Nothing is truly unbiased, and to ever request that means you're a lemming. You should never, ever, ever take only one source or idea as gospel, this is a very dangerous approach to life. And yes, some things are more fair than others, but it's like the scientific method. The more proof you give, the more of an actual argument you make and back-up, the less biased your work will be. But it'll always have an opinion to it. That's why we're humans. WE HAVE OPINIONS, and nobody should ever take something as gospel, ever... Bias is part of being human. As Dr. Manhattan would say (this is still a nerd site, right?), just by being life, we have a certain viewpoint and set of beliefs on the universe.

Not too bad, thanks. Yeah, quite the man's man - non-stop insults and lies to do what? "Win" some victory over people he deems idiots, while claiming he's just come here because he's a comics fan? He sure did spin some sandcastle fantasies about his faux persona, spun off comments about him. Until all he was saying was comments about comments about comments, a one-man conversation with himserlf about nothing. Monkeys... typewriters... I guess, in some respects, that is what AICN is know for, even more so than just a bunch of guys trying to express themselves while searching for a bit of commonality. And this thread seems like a transparent design to get another dust-up going, but maybe a bit too transparent. In any case, I hope Bachmann runs too, but probably not for the same reasons as your desire. Yeah, both parties, not so much for anyone but special interest stuffing their coffers. If I knew thay were viable as candidates, I would vote for the farthest left candidate as possible, bit I don't want to waste my vote. We live in frustrating political times. I thought it was bad 40 years ago, but the slow march to rich/powerful coprorations vs. everyone else seems to be upon us. Yeah, it ain't that simple of course, but Strange times, indeed.

Yes, these are very frustrating times, politically. What America needs is a white knight (no insult meant for Darth_Ghidorah). Yes, and that SUCKS. Right? Do we agree the loss of the middle class sucks? I mean what always made America special was that we had such a robust middle class. Of course corruption and the rich controlling more than they should will always exist, THAT'S LIFE, that's how humans who are corrupt in nature work. But considering, we were doing pretty well. Then again, 90% of America's history has been very volatile, so this really isn't anything new. IT'S HYSTERICAL THAT SHUT-IN BOY TAKES SUCH OFFENSE TO BEING CALLED SUCH THAT HE DEVOTES A WHOLE TREATISE
by BSB
towards defending himself over a term he claims feeling no insult over. But here's the real situation. My 'little jab' was merely an observation of some chump who was, at that point, posting for days and nights without a break. How else to describe someone who doesn't sleep and has no life away from the keyboard? Oh but wait. Once he was revealed to be a no-life shut-in, he concocts a story that is supposed to convince us otherwise. Excuse me if I don't know the entire background as I skipped probably over 1,500 of your posts, but from what I can recall: - you have 4 degrees in sociology, 5 in psychology and has 10 years of experience in the mental health field, all accomplished in 16 years - you have a girlfriend in the next room playing computer games while you're busy with your 216 hour posting marathon in the original Palinback (which I guess hasn't ended, since Melonman is still nibbling at your carcass, prolonging your suffering) - you have flesh and blood friends with whom you're sharing and amazing with your posting prowess - you have a mother who loves you dearly and is very proud of you I'm sure there are a ton more "details" but certainly it goes to show how cutting to the core everyone has gotten that you felt this need to conjure up a life story to make up for the lack of a life. I mean, were we supposed to be impressed? Here, kitty. Flail some more.

OH AND GUESS WHAT, ANNOUNCING A MOVIE YOU'RE GONNA SEE, ON A MOVIE SITE?
by BSB
Doesn't take 5 degrees in psychology to see that's fairly normal. Idiot.
-
I envision him being quite a bit more pale than that .... BTW, don't know if you saw Super 8, but FWIW I think it's one to be left for a DVD loan. It's a far cry from The Goonies and has none of the humor and levity that is a huge part of the Spielbergian look and feel. It's actually quite dark, and over-indulges itself on lens flares to a tiresome extreme. All in all, it just felt like some vanity exercise by JJ and little more.
-
That actually makes sense! I would totally believe the 'man' behind "TheGoblinKnightLex" handle runs a site called "badassdigest" and isn't really a licensed practitioner in the mental health field with 10 years of experience, 9 degrees, and has a girlfriend. Surely running a website with a dozen visitors enables one to post as frequently as he does.
-
Despite hypocritical protestations to the contrary. Funny how he claims to have lurked for 10 years, yet thinks it's abnormal to discuss movies around here. I tells ya, his story has as many plotholes as TDK.

Then he has his work cut out. Maybe he'll tell us his "girlfriend" is blowing him instead of playing games on Yahoo! That might engender some respect.

Obama is a fucking tool too. Voted for a liberal and got whatever the hell he is. Might vote for Bachmann just for shits and giggles. Might as well laugh on the spirally ride down the toilet.
-
"Matt Damon, Hollywood, et al... nobody gives a flying fuck what you think... " Um "nobody" cares what "Hollywood" actors think?... Hmm tell that to Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Fred Thompson. I could go on. I think you meant such up liberal. I think Matt articulated himself pretty well there. And be pretty well I mean he's dead-on.

If the King of the Shitpile really is what you claim, I theorized the same thing, or something very similar, about this phony -- a while ago. That's why I stopped trying to address the imaginary person -- a while ago. Society doesn't like people talking to imaginary beings, unless of course, you are very religious, then it is expected. But hey, guess everyone has to have a little fun - at least that's what the nazi death camp guard said to himself when he began to make necklaces out of the teeth of murdered children and grandmothers - and what the fucking sadists said to each other when they concocted this pathetic scheme. A little dab will do ya'!

Only problem, Matt, is that Palin never said she thought the Earth was only 4000 years old. You're a flipping idiot...
by Coughlins Laws
So, if the standard is that a politician has to answer for everything that goes on in a church they attend, then that means that Obama must believe all the crazy shit said at his church. The guy who he as in front of for 500 Sundays screaming, "God bless America? No, no, no, no... God DAMN America!!!" It's a completely dishonest double-standard to have and was really a stupid statement. The fact that so many on the Left were holding the VP candidate up for more scrutiny than they gave the guy at the top of the ticket on their side. So, how exactly is all the Hope and Change working out for ya? Does it make you feel better to keep personally attacking Palin? Does it take your mind off what a complete and utter failure Obama's been? Anyway, I can't participate in these talkbacks anymore. I don't know what's going on but it looks like to many crazy people are populating them...
-
After conducting a college band and watching Palin deliver a commencement address to a small group of home-schooled students in June 1997, Wasilla resident Philip Munger said, he asked the young mayor about her religious beliefs. Palin told him that "dinosaurs and humans walked the Earth at the same time," Munger said. When he asked her about prehistoric fossils and tracks dating back millions of years, Palin said "she had seen pictures of human footprints inside the tracks," recalled Munger, who teaches music at the University of Alaska in Anchorage and has regularly criticized Palin in recent years on his liberal political blog, called Progressive Alaska. So, is Palin an alien? - that would explain everything....
-
June 27, 2011, 6:44 p.m. CST
OK, McGoocain, if you trust the heresay of an arch-liberal with a vendetta against Palin, that's your prerogative. Get back to me when you have the video...
by Coughlins Laws
Sorry, I just don't believe Palin-haters. There hate and rage is unjustified. So you don't think she's smart enough and don't want her to be President. Guess what, neither do I. That doesn't justify the seething hatred and believing every made up story about her...
-
Rational people who voted for Obama do not defend him regardless of their ideology unlike the screaming idiots on the right in their defense of wastes-of-human-organs like Palin, Bachmann, Gingrich, etc... Obama is not a fighter and he capitulated to the forces of moneyed interests on so many things that no wonder liberals are very disappointed and, yes, "hope and change" didn't work out. But for me, at the very least he brought in two supreme court justices that are not corporate whores and right wing sociopaths. So do you want me to eat the asparagus and cuttlefish or the vanilla paste? Open wide motherfucker cuz you are going to eat shit every time you post here.
-
The hate she gets is equal to the hate she dishes out. Simple. Fair and balanced. Or maybe you haven't that she is paid huge sums of money to dish out the hatred to the gullible rubes eager to hate along with her in these public displays of group hate.

Right on.

What's pathetic is a chump like you invoking America and Independence Day while in the same rank breath advocating for tens of millions of virtual invaders who flagrantly and facetiously flout this nation's laws. What's your definition of an American? Someone who shits on this country's sovereignty and dodges its tax system, while taking advantage of every social service he/she/it can get their hands on? God bless America indeed. Yeah, Lou Dobbs is the real enemy. Right. And you're not a tool of the open border reconquistas. Idiota.

It's an apt description to any and all who've bothered to read your endlessly repetitive posts. And it's amusing that you think you've written anything of value to "lift". Indeed. Thanks. Tis the season.

Yup. The endless repetition of the minutiae of previous talkbacks, peppered with inane insights into people's characters fueled by lies and hateful taunts, in a vain, desperate attempt at getting attention while perpetuating an argument that exists only in one's head - that's pretty boring. Have fun with that. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. I came across a pretty bad, childish writeup of the new GL movie. As a fan, I was hoping that this would be outstanding, but comics to lived-action movie adaptations always seem to be disappointing - never capturing the magic that makes the comics so addictive and special. But this review consisted of a lot of blither blather, and it read as if the reviewer had not even seen it- the type of review where there are no specifics, just vague generalities that could have been thrown together from pre-release hype. Anyway, here’s a small sample: “Anyway, back to GL. Yes, the movie is worth seeing once. In the theaters. In not the "turd" that some want to portray it as. It's just that as you watch the movie, you want it to be better. It's like you have to ask yourself, "Is this all there is?" as you watch it. We've been waiting a long time for DC to move beyond Supes and Bats, and this feels like nothing more than what ruined Superman Returns. Too much modernizing, not enough heart. I give credit to films like Iron Man, Spider-Man, and, yes, both Ang Lee's Hulk, as well as The Incredible Hulk.” And “GL has a few great scenes and moments that you won't remember individually after awhile. Taken as a whole, though, I can see myself enjoying a second viewing if it ever came to that.” Goo-goo- gaga. Gee Wally, and it was pretty neat, and junk.
-
Yes, apparently it's very tricky to come up with a great comic book adaptation. GL disappointed greatly, hopefully Cap will rock. Thor certainly was a stand-out effort. Looks like TF3 will rule the BO this weekend though. It's gonna be a monster, I suspect.
-
Yeah, was hoping GL would be better, as I love comic book SF storytelling, in particular Tales of the Green Lantern Corps. I have in my head a great way for a GL sequel to begin. And Cap, it does look to be good so far. Even though comic book adaptationsto film seem to be hamstrung with devoting an entire movie to telling the origin, this one seems to be getting it more right than not, setting in WWII as a period piece. I have one, old WWII era Cap comic that I bought at a Worldcon back in 1968 - paid $25 for it then. Anyway, love comics - too bad we can't get theatrical release of animated comics adapations- which are always inherently better than the live actrion adaptations. Haven't seen All Star Supeman or Green Lantern: Emerald Knights yet, but will soon, hopefully this weekend. Hope some one eventually gets a live action adapation more right than not. Peace, bro. It's been a fun ride so far.
-
$25 in 1968? I'm guessing it's pretty valuable today? I think part of the problem is that writers assigned to comic book movies don't really have the depth of familiarity with the medium as they should? Anyway, I'm looking forward to Snyder's Superman. Based on Watchmen alone I have confidence in him. I know SP wasn't a homerun (though I loved it) but I'll chalk that up to him being too in love with his own material to be objective with it. Kinda like Lucas. Peace, brother man. Have a great holiday if we don't chat before then.
-
Hey man, I like your playfulness with the King of the Shitpile. Made for some entertaining nose-in-shit rubbing for an (almost) complete hate machine who thinks he is above it all, or something. And it sounds like he needs some new (imaginary?) friends... Maybe he can reminds us, again and again and again why we all suck, and why he needs to lash back uncontrollably because, well, he just has to. If he ever wants to engage me in a conversation about his (possible) love for comics, he is welcome, but he has made no real attempt to communicate with anyone else here except in a one-way hissy fit. Wait a fucking minute, what am I saying? He doesnt' deserve any human contact for all he has written. So fuckhim- paint - corner- y'know?
-
I think the problem is in the story they want to tell with comic book adaptations. If a smart producer and creative director would just pick up a comic book - one with an excellent story and artwork, (already storyboarded!) and just film it --WITHOUT ANY CHANGES, without worrying whether or not every fucking person will be able to "get it", they will finally have a winner- the geeks will come, over and over, bringing their friends - like the Star Wars effect all over again. In other words, start the story -- in the middle of a story - not at the origin beginning. Watchman was good - close to ther original story- but compromised with changes. Oh well - I still enjoyed it.
