GLEE and the gang from McKinley return Tuesday, Sept. 20 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), followed by the series debut of NEW GIRL (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT), the new comedy starring Zooey Deschanel ("(500) Days of Summer") as an adorkable girl who moves in with three single guys, changing their lives in unexpected ways. The Tuesday night of comedy continues with the return of the lovably hilarious Chance family on RAISING HOPE (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT).
This fall, Wednesdays and Thursdays will never be the same after the spectacular two-night series premiere of THE X FACTOR on Sept. 21 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Sept. 22 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). Hosted by Steve Jones and featuring judges Simon Cowell, Antonio "L.A." Reid, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul, the singing competition series will award the next superstar solo artist or breakout musical group a $5 million recording contract with Syco/Sony Music. FRINGE Fridays return to mystify Sept. 23 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), following the season premiere of Gordon Ramsay's KITCHEN NIGHTMARES (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).
Animation dominates Sunday, Sept. 25 with the season premieres of THE SIMPSONS (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT), THE CLEVELAND SHOW (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT), FAMILY GUY (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and AMERICAN DAD (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT). Then, on Sunday, Oct. 30 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT), catch the series premiere of ALLEN GREGORY, the new animated comedy created by and featuring the voice of Jonah Hill ("Get Him to the Greek") that tells the story of a pretentious 7-year-old about to embark on his greatest challenge yet: attending elementary school with children his own age.
On Monday, Sept. 26 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) travel back in time for the special two-hour event debut of TERRA NOVA, the new epic adventure drama that follows an ordinary family on an extraordinary journey to prehistoric Earth. TERRA NOVA makes its time period premiere on Monday, Oct. 3 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), followed by the eighth season premiere of acclaimed medical drama HOUSE (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). The crime-solving team from the Jeffersonian returns for all-new episodes of BONES Thursday, Nov. 3 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) - once the MLB 2011 World Series concludes.
On Wednesday, Nov. 23, get ready for the series premiere of I HATE MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT), the new family comedy starring Jaime Pressly ("My Name Is Earl") and Katie Finneran ("Wonderfalls") as single moms, life-long friends - and former nerds - who fear their privileged and overly indulged daughters are turning out just like the mean girls who picked on them in high school.
In addition, COPS will enter its 24th season Saturday, Sept. 10 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT), and AMERICA'S MOST WANTED will premiere the first of its two-hour quarterly specials Saturday, Oct. 29 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).

Only 2 new shows that looked interesting and they both get pushed to midseason. But hey they have American Idol 2.0 for the sheeple to watch.
-
His actions in the latter half of season seven were not only cartoonish in nature (crashing the car into the house), but way past the definition of anti-hero. House was already enough of a jerk, but homicidal behavior just puts him in the evil, get this asshole out of my sight category. And yes, I get it.....House has always been defined by his self destructive behavior. But it seemed like lazy writing to make him so buffoonish. The challenge SHOULD have been to figure out a way to keep him OFF the drugs, and IN the relationship with Cuddy. Now theres no reason to root for him. Not to mention it wouldnt surprise me if the silliness of last season was the reason for Edelsteins departure. I cant blame her. Too bad, shes smokin hot.

Simpsons season premiere should be the annual Halloween episode
by Triple_J_72
Because showing it AFTER Halloween kinda defeats the purpose, don't you think, FOX? Get on the ball.

Tuesday, Sept. 27 - Terra Nova series cancellation
-
...because it means no TWO MONTH GAPS between new episodes. I'd rather have all the episodes at once than four or five at a time, then a multi-week break (repeat for eight months).

Who gives a shit about WHEN The Simpsons airs it's Halloween episode...
by Nasty In The Pasty
...since the series hasn't been funny since 1998?

I fear he's this year's Bruckheimer. I don't see any of his new shows survive. Alcatraz and Person Of Interest seem most likely to go beyond a first season. Awake looks interesting, but I predict a DayBreak/Journeyman-route. And X Factor's gonna crash and burn. As will 2,5 Men 2.0. Hopefully House will end on a high note and Fringe and The Office will reinvent themselves.

I won't be watching 2.5 Men, but I'm curious to see if Chuck Lorres
by V'Shael
show falls apart without Charlie Sheen.

there were a lot of things I didn't like about the later years of 24, but now that it's not on Fox's schedule, it makes me realize what a big hole it left behind.

inquiring minds would like to know!

I give a shit about Simpsons premiere dates, funny or unfunny!
by Simpsonian
you don't turn your back on family. besides, each season still has a few gems. last years halloween ep. was pretty good.
-
Looks like most of the stations have given up on even trying Saturday night! 1 scripted comedy college football & repeats. How many decent shows were canceled last season?
-
It's shit. When the most universally loathed tv network likes you it's time to wake up and fuck off. In fact Family Guy isn't great anymore, American Dad is the only one I actually look forwards to - well until that one last season with Francine getting the acid in the face. Fukkit. Come on Fox cancel them all for pete's sake.
-
She hates things because other people like them but has no likes of her own? How else do you explain a person who celebrates the premiere of a series called "Celebrity Date Farts"? (I guess "Troll" would be another way) I also think she's tilting at windmills here since, from my perusal of this and other Tera Nova TBs, most around here are wary of this show, both in quality and longevity. Getting replaced by some lame pseudo-celebrity reality show isn't so much a bold and daring prediction as it is an almost obvious observation.
-
Sure, when any genre enjoys some popularity or a resurgeance it is generally churned out in ever increasing waves of mediocrity. However, better that than a complete void of said genre due to the contrarian attitude of some hipster douche or two (you know they invented irony, right?). Me, I'd prefer to wade through the 99% of crap to find that 1% of gems. Better that than having those rare jewels never seeing the light of day.
-
From the name it's apparently supposed to be a reference to Lawrence of Arabia. But the way he's standing in one place shifting his eyes back and forth it looks like he's standing at a gloryhole.
