We saw a little bit of JCVD this year when Van Damme voiced a character in KUNG FU PANDA 2, but now he's returning to live-action filmmaking with SIX BULLETS, according to Variety.
In SIX BULLETS, Van Damme will play a mercenary hired to help track down and rescue a martial arts fighter's missing daughter. The film is budgeted at $10 million, and will begin shooting in August under director Ernie Barbarash (ASSASSINATION GAMES).
No word on whether this will receive theatrical release in the States, but I hope so - I really liked JCVD and although he may be getting long in years, Van Damme still tries to make entertaining films. At times, he can even be fairly brilliant:
