New MUPPETS Parody Trailer! "Being Green!"

Nordling here.
Hi ho! Kermit the Frog here! I sure hope you enjoy this “Being Green” trailer…and our other parody trailers—“Green With Envy” “Fuzzy Pack”. Now, after much ado—and Miss Piggy’s insistence that she get final cut—we’re finally ready for the world premiere of the official trailer for our upcoming movie, “The Muppets”. You can watch it everywhere on Monday June 20th at 8am Pacific Time. Be sure not to miss it!
– Amphibiously yours, Kermit The Frog
And with that...
Not much to say for me. Simply wonderful. Hell, that was better than the movie they were parodying! Nordling, out!

Though I like the idea of him and Statler being on a team of villainous Muppets.

I am looking forward to this!

Something I can take the kids to and enjoy myself! I'm digging the trailers.

Generally speaking, comedy trailers that spoof other movies are VERY worrisome...

Is Harry hiding his disappointment of "Green Lantern"?
by the reluctant austinite
Not a peep from him here or on Twitter except for a tweet saying he was nervous about seeing it a couple of days ago. I can't believe how universally bad the reviews have been. I really didn't expect the reviews to be THIS bad based on just seeing the trailers. I either expected Harry to buck the trend by LOVING "Green Lantern" and going completely against the grain or just not saying anything at all if he hated it. He's been wearing the ring for months and probably doesn't want to upset those he has become friendly with during the film's promotion.
So one of two things are going to happen. He'll chew on the good and bad of the film and ultimately post a belated review this weekend defending the good stuff while admiting some of the bad stuff OR he'll never say anything, which is bascially a terrible review just by his silence. -
I loved those movies as a kid. The wide array of cameos and they were just funny as hell to me. I'm seriously looking forward to this.
Plus I'm cracking up with Nordling saying the trailer was better than the movie it parodied. LOL Damn that's Cold Blooded(in my Rick James Voice) -
LOL Hilarious
-
Did we make the movie in Swedish?
-
What more do you need to know?

Totally pumped for this flick. Jason Segel better not screw the Rowlf on this one.

the reluctant austinite: GREEN LANTERN is getting a bad fucking rap.
by the_choppah
The Hate Orgy is fully inflamed here in Ginger-Town, but I still expect Big Red to pull through with a massively hedged "good" review.
The movie has its flaws, sure, but it's a good fucking time. Let's see if Harold cops to the flaws in a forthright manner. Then his review will sound authentic.
Still, it's a good time at the movies. Harden the fuck up, hit that bowl and head to a matinee when you get a chance. -

Stately, plump Harold Knowles came from the basement, bearing a jar of Vaseline on which a sock and a Sears catalogue lay crossed.

Borrowing off another's popularity to bolster your own...
by feralangel
...is kind of weak, just like this trailer. Calling it a "parody" when it's really exploitation is also weak.
Meh. The Muppets seem pretty impressed with their own cleverness. Good for them, I guess. Did they have to use this approach to interest people in the original "Muppet Movie"? Probably not. They were way popular back then in their own right. -
Jun 16, 2011 12:21:39 PM CDT
I like how assholes hang their hat on RT, like that means something.
by the_choppah
-
Fuck these new Muppets.
-
How in hell did you get to see GL so early?
-
GREEN LANTERN isn't popular. This site and Rotten Tomatoes says so, so it must be true.
The Muppets should have made a parody trailer based on THE TREE OF LIFE.
Kids love that shit. -
You of all people should know that one should never doubt CHOPPAH's ways.
-
Oh, and I watched a TRIPPY-ASS movie at Another Hole in the Head 8 last weekend. It's called The Book and apparently it was at Comicpalooza too. If you get a chance to see it I recommend giving it a shot. It's low-budget, and I think the filmmaker's first two or three languages were not English, but damn it's interesting.

You're right - I forget myself. But at least answer me this: worth seeing in 3D?

Besides, BSB, you'll have all the 3D you need in your own lap.

I saw no bannable offense anywhere. Not saying its your doing, Nordling, just backing up bsb. Wondering if he was accidentally banned with all these site issues thats been happening lately.
-
Indeed, Chops, indeed.
Might catch a matinee on Saturday and if so, I would spring for the 3D. Thanks for the tip. -

How about a Muppet teaser parody of Meet the Feebles? Heads would explode...
by trollspotting
-
That's exactly what Hal Jordan would say to you if movies could interact with audiences.
-
*Boner*
-
Dude if i saw miss piggy toting a machine gun and Kermit shooting heroin i think my head would explode.
-
Yeah, I'm eager to see a "real" trailer for The Muppets. But I wouldn't mind their spoofing Harry Potter and Twilight either.
-
How was NEIL, pally?
-
I'm kind of interested in seeing it, if only because it's a superhero movie that's not based on a Marvel character for a change.
And of all the superheroes, Green Lantern is by far the most original. I mean, a green lantern that gives superpowers? Weird but in a good way. -
So it's her fault if it sucks, I suppose. Man that frog hates that pig. What is he, Jewish?
-

Feralangel calls this 'exploitative' ... My goodness gracious it takes a real idiot to say something like that. Your comment is truly embarrassing.
by goldentribe
This is a hundred times more interesting than the real GL trailers were even though the humour is only half there. You obviously lack even a basic understanding of all of the following words/concepts: parody, satire, spoof, send-up, mocking, [etc.]
You're obviously a shit-brained DC/GL fanboy upset everyone hates your pet favourite superhero.
This is NOT exploitation or even exploitative in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. Seriously, you're dumb as nails. -
Definitely worth a glance at a matinee. Solid fun, a few sloggy flaws aside.
The 3D I can take or leave. -
I'd all-but written off the Muppets as one of the sillier interests of my childhood, but seeing them all together like that made pure joy well up inside me. This had FUCKING BETTER BE GOOD.
-
Boy did you open yourself up to THAT one, goldentribe. Now *yawn* run along and play with your other obsession...my little pony. You're a "bronie" too, no doubt. Damn, the things people obsess over. Plastic ponies, puppets, holy crap.
I'm not a "DC/GL fanboy" but I'd rather be that than a rabid Muppet fanboy. They're haters on a grand scale, if you're any example. -
Yeah, I'm seeing this in theaters. Can't wait.
-
Jun 16, 2011 1:49:36 PM CDT
Choppah, I'm resigned to see "Green Lantern" no matter what the critics say.
by the reluctant austinite
Thanks for your input, however. For months I was kind of uninterested in "Green Lantern", but the recent, spacey, "Star Wars" meets "Superman" trailers got my attention, and comic book movies SHOULD be fun (sometimes even silly).
Harry's silence, however, seems to speak volumes. This wouldn't be the first time, however, that he has taken a few days to let the movie play out in his brain (because he initially, probably didn't care much for it) only to suddenly release a review mostly praising the postive aspects of a film and retroactively defending what others have disliked. -
no?? If so, then all bad mojo from Green Lantern is now erased
-
I especially like the Statler and Waldorf moment.
-
Something in my throat." LOL. Can't wait for this. And, yeah, the Sweedish chef going all Scarface was pretty great, too. If the movie is as good as these trailers, it's got my money.
-
that's the spirit.
Your instincts are about right.
I don't know what H. Throckmorton Knowles will do.
No one can predict the "man".

By GREEN LANTERN.
He got that special ring and lantern and everything. He seemed really, really excited for it.
I bet you in his review he's going to be a Brave Little Ginger. Optimistic, enthusiastic, vague.
In the face of sheer mediocrity sometimes all you can do is pretend it was better.

He gave it 2.5 stars, but it seems like he enjoyed himself.
And, like Beaks, he liked it more than THOR. -
He gave it a 2 1/2 stars and basically a pass because it's a comic book movie. After his Kick Ass review I no longer trust him anyway, but he definitely isn't recommending Green Lantern.

feralangel: what moronic fantasy-land did that idiotically muddled message come from? What the hell are you talking about?
by goldentribe
'Boy did you open yourself up to THAT one, goldentribe' -- what?? What on earth are you talking about?
A largely unfunny muppet spoof is miles better than the original Green Lanturd, that's all anybody's saying. It was painfully obvious from the very first images and teasers that the entire GL movie was a misguided pile of shit. But you have to go and accuse this utterly innocuous send-up of being 'exploitative' like some kind of complete idiot who has no business conversing with anyone outside of a padded kiddie room. You specifically wrote that this is NOT a parody, it's 'really exploitation.' To sincerely believe that by anything about this trailer constitutes exploitation in any way requires record-breaking stupidity.
I'm not a 'rabid fanbody' of anything, I just call them as I see them. I have nothing against (or for) Ryan Reynolds, for instance -- unlike a lot of others around here -- and I couldn't give a shit less if a property comes from Marvel or DC or somewhere else. I similarly couldn't care less about the muppets in general, and I have no idea why you're talking about ponies.....
What is clear is that you'd need a massive amount of rounding up just to be called a half-wit based on every painfully stupid word you've typed into this talkback so far. -
Look how that turned out.... He only got a peep of some but sack, but didn't go on to Suck them.
but THIS, i cant wait to see THE MUPPETS -
With Kermit in a little pork pie hat and Walt beard.
With:
Scooter as Jessie
Miss Piggy as Sklyer
Robin as RJ
Sam The Eagle as Hank
Prof Honeydew as Gus
Fozzie as Saul
etc -
Thanks Green Lantern!!!
-
Plan it WELL so you dont lose any "high friends"
-
The price is ridiculous and the glasses give me a headache. I did see How To Train Your Dragon in 3D, and it was GOOD 3D, but I've seen the movie since in 2D and it was the STORY that mattered. When movies start getting projected in holographic imagery, THAT will be worth an extra dime or two. That'll be the next big gimmick, count on it.
-

I know it's not an official Muppet, but I'd like to see Jason Segel's Dracula

Thanks, goldentribe, for proving my point. Damn that was easy.

In brightest swamp, in blackest fog, no evil shall infest this bog...
-
So was the one about the Hangover II (which was a baaaaddd movie, BTW- nice choice, Disney). So far this Muppet movie campaign is coming across like one of those crappy movies that exploit other movies in a desperate bid for box office, like Vampires Sucks.
And Kermit with legs is STILL creepy, Green Lantern suit or no. Bill Maher was right. -
What a treat it'll be for the first girl you date!

dont get me wrong, im sure the green lantern is shit, and the hangover 2 wasnt very good....but at least those movies make money. this wont make anything.

The Muppets are so irrelevant that they're now relying on Family Guy-style pop cultural pandering.

Sad.
The Muppets used to be pretty fucking funny in their own right. It's a damn shame.
The Muppets died when Henson died. Sorry, fanboys, but it's true.
Damn sad.

Boy, the Swedes are gonna be pissed.

`Twould be an interesting twist, no? Knowles using an alter ego to stir up the banter on his site, playing both sides.

Yep, fart jokes. The "official trailer" has a fart joke in it. The Muppets are doing fart jokes now. Jokes about FARTS.
Talk about wrong-sounding Muppets...
