“Doctor Who” is taking another break.
Though Matt Smith has signed for a seventh season as The Doctor, that season apparently won’t air until at least 2013, according to io9.
It's now likely fans can expect at best a handful of specials in 2012. (Three “Who” specials aired in 2009, between 2008’s fourth season and 2010’s fifth.)
Though some speculate showrunner Steven Moffat’s commitment to his modern-day Sherlock Holmes series may be to blame, reason for the delay is unclear.
Perhaps Moffat, who helped write Steven Spielberg's fast-approaching Tintin movie, landed another big-screen assignment?
