I leave town to take part in some new California adventures, and look at all this stuff that comes in. Father Geek has been doing a valiant job of trying to see through the haze of misinformation and fan-wishing. Today, I've had over 30 emails from folks who read SEVENTEEN magazine (something that I will not advocate as being a bastion of accuracy), but they seem to be CLAIMING that Nicholas Brendon is being TALKED TO about playing Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Now before all of you start hooping and hollering about what a wetdream this all is... just calm down... and realize... that like the next scoop about possible Clarices for HANNIBAL... we're probably going to be hearing ALOT OF NAMES. Just like we did for directors. This is the case when covering projects as they take form. Different talent... all being approached at the same time.... Baiting hooks waiting for one to bite. In a lot of ways... it's how Hollywood works. So have at it...

you can take this as a hoax or whatever, but I am just stating the facts. My sister gets this girly magazine 17. She knows I watch Buffy and like comics. She came up to me and showed me an article. It was about Nicholas Brendon.

It stated that he is being talked to for the role of Spiderman. Now I know you may say this is a fan of Buffy and wants to try to make this happen, but I am just stating the facts. this is truth. Whether he takes the role or not is not proven, but the magazine states at least he is being courted for the role.

I just hope they choose someone cool. I hear Brendon frasier. He is ok but a little surfer dude too much for the role. And the other guy I know nothing of. I was hoping Casper Van dien or Nicholas. Nicholas more.

Harry think about it he acts just like a self degrading, cocky bastard on the show and he would make and awesome spiderman. anyway, if you can stoop so low sheck out the lastest 17 and see the Nicholas article.

OK. for all you Talkbackers who roasted Father Geek for NOT going with the GILLIAN rumor right off the bat. For those who said "Don't bother to confirm, Just post it, We'll hash it out." Here's a little tidbit I just received. NO proof, just rumor. Have at it! I'll no doubt now be roasted for putting up lame spectulation. Can't win!

I've wanted to send you some scoop for a while, but wasn't secure in my job to the point where I'd risk it. Now I am so now I will. I'm a long time AICN reader so I figured it was time for me to do my duty. Here's the real dirt. There are currently two people up for grabs for the spidey role and they don't really "match." According to the word in the halls at the agency I work for, the top contenders are Brendan Fraser and John C. Reilly (who Sam worked with in 'For Love of the Game'). That's the dirt.
