Yes! Yes! Jesus H. Tap-Dancing Christ… I have seen The Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day!!!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
Upon initial viewing of this image I thought it could possibly be from a Blues Brothers sketch on SNL, but looking closely at the background I’m convinced it’s from the movie… looks a whole lotta like Ray’s Music Store, where the fantastic Ray Charles Shake A Tail Feather segment takes place.
Plus I think it’s cooler that Bill Murray came to visit the set of The Blues Brothers and seemed to have a great time.
I love this picture in the same way that I love last week’s shot of Chevy Chase and Bill Murray dancing on the steps of Gozer’s temple on the set of Ghostbusters… I love these guys together and sadly we didn’t get much of John Belushi, so these little bits and pieces that pop up from what we did get really put a smile on my face.
Hope you enjoy the pic!

If you have a behind the scenes shot you’d like to submit to this column, you can email me at quint@aintitcool.com.
There will be no soup for tomorrow’s behind the scenes pic.

It always feels new everytime. Is tomorrow Seinfeld?
-
some sequels should never get made...looking at you Hangover part 2.
-
I'll say it twice: Great pic.
-
Thank you for this pic and for the column, Quint. These two guys, the guitars on the wall. That's some of the best we as a nation have ever had to offer, and I am totally serious in saying that f-ing rules. It brings back cool memories of the 80s, when it was still cool to be an American and to be funny and to have a good time. There seemed to be a lot less sneering and stuff in general. It was a time when cynicism was not the staple of the day, there was a modicum of decency in the media among partisan opponents, and we were still waiting for a third Star Wars movie. America is fucking cool and here is proof positive. No need for argument there, unless you want to step outside, partner. Keep 'em coming, please! Your dedication is amazing and much appreciated.

They are showing THE BLUES BROTHERS at the Cedar Lee in Cleveland on July 2nd. I can't wait to see this again on the big screen. And for the record, I hate Illinois Nazis.

AS USUAL AICN IS THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS
-
The Blues Brothers is easily in my Top 10. First, I'm a nut for John Landis, with "Into The Night" being my second favorite to Blue Brothers of Landis' work (nails my time in LA). Then there's Belushi. Belushi is the greatest comic of our time. Period. Belushi is to comedy what Brando was to the method. I absolutely love this photo. There probably isn't very many people on this Earth that could make Bill Murray laugh, but Belushi could. Also, this is one of the very rare moments that I will ever aprove of every word of the terminally snarky Quint.
-
You may remember 20th Century Fox ain't exactly AICN's biggest fan. Not sure if Beaks saw it in LA, but we don't have a screening here in Austin until Monday with a strict embargo for us to hold our reviews until opening day. It ain't laziness, dude. Believe me, I'm dying to see it especially after hearing my colleagues going ape-shit for it.
-
Snarky? Me? Really?
-
What? Rollers. No. Yeah. Shit.

i don't think that any film has more quotable lines that this masterpiece. the script, the cast, line delivery and music. All perfect. i generally don't get along with musicals at all. But this film is one of my all time favourites. I must have seen it hundreds and hundreds of times. put me on a desert island, with a TV, DVD player and this film and Jaws and I'd be happy.

Is there a repository or page we can access to get access to all the old BTS images?

X-Men Review Up at Empire and Den of Geek too
by harryknowlesnothingaboutfilm
The Emire review gave it 3 stars out of 5 but they are notoriously cranky bastards these days and hate pretty much everything. Den of Geek Loved it though.
-
After laboring through Twilight and Catwoman Halloween packaging images it's nice to see something on here a true movie geek can get excited about. Very nice pick from a truly great comedy from a wonderful era where Belushi was alive and Akroyd was in his prime.
-
If I remember correctly, in the mall scene there was a guy buying a stuffed toy and he looked a helluva lot like Bill Murray, but it turned out not to be him when I googled 'bill murray blues brothers'.
-
Fox making a geek friendly, good film??!! Im-fucking-possible. Unless Vaugn had it in his contract that all the suits were banned from his set and had final cut rights.
-
Nah I'm fairly confident that's Bill. Just rewatched the mall scene there after you said that, I'm really not seeing how you could confuse that chap for Bill Murray... oh well. Incidentally I love your name! "Nobody steps on a church in my town!"
-
He looks genuinely tickled there. Pretty rare sight. Awesome.

I have a friend who staunchly refuses to watch the Blues Brothers.

Dude's demented. Has to be.
-
Nearly as long as he was alive.
-
The man gets a lifetime pass from me for making some of the most rewatchable and entertaining films of the 80s. Gonna give special shout out to Oscar! Love it.
-
Any word on BURKE & HARE getting distribution stateside?
-
I'm gonna make your wish of being CHOPPED come true. a true professional would be able to write a coherent review of XMEN with their scrote in someones mouth. But this is Ginger fat-ass we are talking about. He obviously hasnt seen it yet or Fox didnt give him the lifesize Cerebro-modified wheelchair he's been begging for. Dont bring a knife to a CHOPfight. CHOPPED.

I miss the Cedar Lee! Right around the corner from what used to be Wax Stacks. Funny about Illinois Nazis since I transplanted to Chicago back in the 90s. On a mission from Gad.
-
Came out 4 years before I was born and I still love this movie to death.
-
Belushi was the missing fat ghostbuster

Both legends genuinely smiling over a couple of smokes?
by Billyeveryteen
Ten kinds of awesome. Easily.
-
John cracked a devious joke.
-
Some people I know recently got to meet Murray on the set of Moonlight Kingdom, said he's a terrific guy. Too bad Belushi isn't with us.
-
I'm proud to say one of my theater professors in college was a part of The Blues Brothers! He was the second-in-command to Henry Gibson and uttered the famous "I've always loved you" line to him as they fall to their deaths! Turns out, that line was totally improv as my professor said he just blurted it out when the moment felt right and Landis LOVED IT! They had to re-film the scene after everyone stopped laughing and was prepared for it and the rest is cinema history. When I met Landis at Horror Hound 2008 I told him about my professor and the dude totally stopped the autograph line to talk to me about him and what he was doing now! He signed my copy of The Blues Brothers with "Drive Safely! John Landis." I love this movie like the French love Jerry Lewis!
-
Worst film? Probably not. But Lucas was a piker, in regards to trying to ruin the original, when it comes to what those folks did in Blues Brothers 2000. Ugh. Just thinking about the very idea of a Belushi-free sequel to Blues Bros. makes me nauseous. Then to see the actual "movie" they made--argh! My eyes! The goggles do nothing!
-
Just so good. Never watched the sequel in its entirety. Probably never will! How did that get made?
-
My favourite film of all time...Not the best but my personal fav.. Masterpiece...
