What does CBS have to do with my geographic region?

    by rhaemye

Any way to make it available to others who are interested, would be COOL, Cool News.

  • May 19, 2011, 6:30 a.m. CST

How fitting that Person of Interest is...

    by DarkHawke

...the only interesting one of the five. Well, okay, A Gifted Man *may* have some potential, but it seems kinda one-shot. How much can you really milk out of someone seeing only ONE ghost every week and it's always the same one? The comedies seem as flat as anything else out there (though Kat Dennings is DEEPLY dishy!), and this Unforgettable thing sounds like something EVERYONE will have forgotten by about three weeks into the fall season. Sorry CBS, you've already filled my quota for middling cop dramas with Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods. P.O.I., though, looks like it just might fill the ass-kicking action-adventure hole left by the departure of Human Target. Like the casting and the premise is intriguingly mysterious. We'll see how it goes.

Michael Emerson - Best thing about LOST

And soon to be the best thing on CBS probably.

So is this what Ben Linus is doing for Hurly now?

CBS Execs have only ever seen one comedy show

    by monolithik

"It's called How to Be a Gentleman; it's like The Odd Couple, but modern! And if you like that, watch 2 Broke Girls; it's like The Odd Couple, but this time they're dames!" Seriously, CBS comedies always make me sad, if only to see some of the great talent they've paid to ruin their careers. Seeing Rhys Darby having to wait for the laugh track after telling a "joke" that I'm sure wasn't so much written in the script as it was just a scribbled note to "Act wacky and lovable for the old people watching" makes a little part of me die inside.

  • It was reported a couple of weeks ago that Jim Caviezel said in public that “The Passion of the Christ” “wrecked” his career, how he was “rejected by my own industry” after making that controversial blockbuster. Prior to that film he wasn’t a big star before the Mel Gibson (who is a Jew & woman hating pile of shit) movie, that he’s worked quite a bit since then, and he had a pilot he shot for super-producer J.J. Abrams fresh in the can. Now that pilot has been picked up. CBS will air “Person of Interest” Thursday nights this fall. It shows that it wasn't the movie that wrecked his career, it was his piece of shit attitude and rightwing, religious views. This is Hollywood, after all, not Jesusland. For that reason I will not be watching "Person of Interest", and when this show gets cancelled due to low ratings it will be Jim Caviezel's fault.

  • May 19, 2011, 9:14 a.m. CST

I will watch this show BECAUSE of Jim Caviezel

    by jericho1368

    The show looks great too.

  • May 19, 2011, 9:16 a.m. CST

PS. Who cares what Caviezel's religious views are

    by jericho1368

When he's so good on the eyes.

you don't like my geographic region - well fuck you

    .......yeah I'll check youtube instead

  • May 19, 2011, 9:26 a.m. CST

will check out Person of Interest

    by Miyamoto_Musashi

    Emerson, Jonathan Nolan and JJ

  • May 19, 2011, 9:28 a.m. CST

    by Randy

Person of interest and a gifted man both look like nothing CBS does, much more like ABC type shows. I actually might give both of those a chance, because there is a bunch of talented people I love involved. Demme FTW!

  • May 19, 2011, 9:59 a.m. CST

Kat Dennings show should be filmed in 3D!...or 3DD!!

    by Sequitur

You can only hope to contain them

  • May 19, 2011, 10:38 a.m. CST

Isn't Abrams' cock good and clean by now?

    by gruntybear

I mean, if it keeps getting sucked like this, it'll be all prune-wrinkly and very, very unattractive to future suckers. I'm just sayin'.

  • May 19, 2011, 10:56 a.m. CST

This whole geographic thing is utter idiocy!

    by Big_Bubbaloola

Like someone earlier said - Youtube! Makes all their restriction utterly pointless and tiresome.

  • May 19, 2011, 11:18 a.m. CST

@ arafel: I will watch this show...

    by ccchhhrrriiisssm

...because YOU do not want me to. ;-) After all, no one expects Hollywood to be a "religious" industry. However, the people who pay $$$ to watch movies and shows don't want it to be a religion-bashing industry either. :-P Still, I am looking forward to this show, Terra-Nova and Alcatraz more than any others. I suspect that most, if not all three, of these shows will fail. However, we can always hope. Network TV has been in a free fall lately. I can't stand to watch another legal/police/crime investigation show -- and I want to puke with each new reality series.

  • May 19, 2011, 11:33 a.m. CST

    Kat Jennings in Thor

    by ShadowVision

I still feel they wasted Kat Jennings in Thor. When they originally cast her I was thinking that she was going to be Hela. I think they should have gone that way instead of having her as the comic relief. The only thing is that they would need to alter the plot a little since the Loki they portrayed is more of a "Year One" version. Making her the goddess of death and his daughter probably wouldn't have fit in from that angle.

  • Everything after that was awful.

  • May 19, 2011, 11:45 a.m. CST

    Jonathan Nolan has no accent?

    by BlaGyver

    Hm. Weird.

  • May 19, 2011, 11:58 a.m. CST

    Sorry CBS

    by Truxton Spangler

I'm not going to sit through an ad just so I can watch a clip of a show you're _supposedly_ trying to promote. Not even NBC is stupid enough to pull that kind of shit. Find another way to pay Sheen's settlement and Kutcher's salary.

  • May 19, 2011, 12:33 p.m. CST

That Kat Dennings show looks really horrible

    by scudd

Even for a CBS sitcom. Yikes.

  • May 19, 2011, 12:39 p.m. CST

    by Extr3m1st

Suck dick much brah? Seriously fuck you,no one gives a crap what you watch.

  • May 19, 2011, 1:29 p.m. CST

    Wow, anyone but Caveziel.

    by AnnoyYou

I really don't like that overrated smug holier-than-thou SOB. I thought I'd watch because I love Michael Emerson so much, but Caveziel just kills it dead. Such a waste. I guess Grimm is the only semi-interesting genre show next season.

  • Pay attention to the art, not the artist. I'm as liberal as it comes and I have zero interest or problem with Caviezels religious views. It's pathetic and juvenile when people rant about not watching Sean Penn films and the same goes for this. I think Caviezels actually a good choice for this role.

  • May 19, 2011, 2:39 p.m. CST

    Person of Interest

    by whatevillurks

I'm in.....its like Mannix meats LOST.

  • When a top talent (Nolan) gets associated with a top lack of talent (JJ Abrams). It's just too damn weird.

  • May 19, 2011, 3:03 p.m. CST

    by AsimovLives

Jonathan Nolan is american. It's his brother Christopher who's english.

  • May 19, 2011, 3:06 p.m. CST

Michael Emerson was too good for Lost.

    by AsimovLives

But at least Lost gave him exposure to this fantastically talented actor.

Stylish, Cancelled, Maybewatch, Off-Jerking Timeslot Filler, and Maybewatch

    by Squinty CGI Flynn

Gentlemen= Two and a Half Men but without a kid and not Stupid A Gifted Man = Canceled after First Season Two Broke Tits..I mean Girls = time slot filler then Cancelled Unforgettable (how many times are we gonna hear that damn Nat King Cole song played) = Interesting maybe Person Of Interest = CRIMINALMINDSWITHOUTATRACECSI but more stylish just my opinion, why I'm on this talkback where everyone else unleashes theirs.

  • May 19, 2011, 5:43 p.m. CST

Person on Interest looks worth a shot

    by superlaser

My real concern is how it falls on the episodic vs. serialized scale. Without some kind of continuity/overarching plot to get invested in, it'll get old really fast.

  • May 19, 2011, 5:57 p.m. CST

But this ISN'T a STAR TREK or BATMAN show? PASS.

    by Drath

    I know, what a fucker I am.

  • May 19, 2011, 7:20 p.m. CST

    Person of Interest may work...

    by Mephisto the Great

...because Caviezel is so low-key that his work is a breath of fresh air from the usual "drop the sunglasses let's solve this thing" crap from every other procedural out there. Looks fun. CBS wants better ratings? Buy Burn Notice from USA and get Bruce Campbell on every week.

  • May 19, 2011, 7:20 p.m. CST

Good. CSI sucks big floppy donkey dick.

    by Dr. Samuel Loomis

  • May 19, 2011, 8:22 p.m. CST

We've seen this concept about a billion times...

    by Jaster

But never with this kind of top-tier talent so I'm definitely game.

  • May 19, 2011, 9:46 p.m. CST

Person of Interest is basically Batman with a twist

    by dailysportspages

Wayne is rich Reese is homeless Both hide who they really are, one as a rich playboy the other as a poor homeless man Both have an older mentor, one a family butler the other what seems to be a CIA handler type Both work covertly to fight crime, one using stealth tactics the other using intelligence connections Both speak with a low gruff voice, but one kinda sucks at it (Bale) and other seems to have got it pretty well (Caviezel) And the show pretty much looks like it was shot using the same visual style and probably lighting and storytelling structure of The Dark Knight movie

  • May 19, 2011, 10:56 p.m. CST

Jennifer Ehle - Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice

    by SmokingRobot

    She's a big star. Great actress. I'll watch a show she's in.

  • May 19, 2011, 10:57 p.m. CST

    Person of Interest looks great

    by SmokingRobot

I'm an atheist, but don't hate Christians, so I don't care what J.C.'s religion is. He's a hard working actor and never phones it in. God bless him. :)

  • May 19, 2011, 11:02 p.m. CST

    Kat Dennings

    by SmokingRobot

Her ship needs to come in. She's insanely watchable.

  • May 20, 2011, 1:14 a.m. CST

    He clearly has an accent...

    by leftyjones

A Chicago one -- cuz that's where he grew up.

  • May 20, 2011, 2:45 a.m. CST

So sad seeing the actors trying to sell this shit

by In Action Man Reborn Requiem

even with their acting chops they you can tell they know it sucks. "Person of Interest" could be good. The rest look awful, especially the Patrick Wilson Ghost Whisperer. I bet Wilson want to kill his agent. He was working pretty steadily in feature films. I bet his agent told him it was easy money, just make this shitty pilot, it will never get pick up. Woops, welcome to sixteen hour days 6 months out of the year.

  • May 20, 2011, 5:50 a.m. CST

If they had a more dynamic lead than Cavezial...

    by Rebel Scumb

It would be easier to get excited for this. I'll still watch 1-3 episodes to give it a shot, due to Emerson. Why not a leading man who could do brooding/dark but also some levity and had some charm? Not to make it a big LOST reunion show, but why not someone like Josh Holloway or Henry Ian Cusick? Doesn't have to be them, but why not someone like that with a bit more range? Although I did like Cavezial in Count of Monte Cristo and Thin Red Line, but I wouldn't say he was what sold me on either of those movies. This show has a fairly weak premise, so I'm going to need a great cast playing fun memorable characters for it to grab me.

  • May 20, 2011, 8:42 a.m. CST

Caveziel isn't very convincing as a tough guy.

    by fanboy71

his action skills are less than convincing, and his acting skills are similiar. This looks like an interesting series though, so i might give it a shot. To bad they didn't cast someone who can pull off the action. Like Kevin McKidd or Ray Stevenson for example. Ray Stevenson would kill it. I'm still wishing for a Punisher series on Showtime or HBO with Staevenson as Frank Castle. That could kick so much ass.

  • May 20, 2011, 10:13 a.m. CST

JJ Abrhams is a hateful hack

    by Nabster

    This show looks like shit.

  • May 20, 2011, 10:57 a.m. CST

"Both speak with a low gruff voice, but one kinda sucks at it (Bale)"

    by AsimovLives

Again that pussy ass faggotry complain about Bale's batvoice. Jesus fucking christ, man!

  • May 20, 2011, 11 a.m. CST

Kat Dennings was really funny and mega-cute in THOR.

    by AsimovLives

  • May 20, 2011, 11:02 a.m. CST

    by AsimovLives

Ray Stevenson playing a badass hobo? Great idea.

  • May 20, 2011, 11:20 a.m. CST

Person of Interest looks good . . .

    by Nick

but if they wanted to make a show like that, why not just re-do The Equalizer, being that it was a CBS property back in the day. I know remakes suck, but imagine The Equalizer with Victor Garber as Robert McCall, channeling Jack Bristow. Instant hit.

  • May 20, 2011, 1:05 p.m. CST

    2 Broke Girls

    by SavageJuicebox

    Cancelled instantly.

  • That's the impression I'm getting. I'm not complaining, it certainly is a decent premise. Plus I like JC and Emerson.

  • May 20, 2011, 2:19 p.m. CST

    Looks gay

    by Nabster

No one like JJ Abrhams. If the dude was Christian they'd never give him a chance.

  • Yes, Jesus was a Palestinian. Israelis are from Europe, they are immigrants, they are not from the middle east. And Jews were never expelled to Egypt, that's a religious belief that has been refuted by history and science. Jesus was from the middle east, he was not Caucasian.

  • May 20, 2011, 4:27 p.m. CST

This may be the first show I watch on CBS

    by TheMcflyFarm

  • May 20, 2011, 5:11 p.m. CST

Hate to break it to CBS but when you're broke...

    by Cash907

You can't afford extra large Frap's from Starbucks. Broke people drink drip coffee and swipe condiments from fast food joints. I thought it was cute though when Kat Dennings described the show as "real" though. I've had a lot of shitty waitresses (as well as coworkers when I was waiting tables myself) and even the most crude ones never dropped the vag as a punchline.

Geographically restrict my pretty pink nutsack. Just grab hotspot shield and you can also enjoy that Person of Interest preview (which looks awesome).
