I liked Adam McKay's THE OTHER GUYS - it's no ANCHORMAN, but what is, really - mostly due to the chemistry between Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. I think Farrell brought out Wahlberg's goofy side, because Wahlberg's pretty funny in it. Now it looks like we may see them onscreen again in Warner Bros. TURKEY BOWL, according to Deadline.
In TURKEY BOWL, Farrell and Wahlberg play rival football (American) captains from two game-obsessed towns who face off for bragging rights. This premise reminds me of THE BEST OF TIMES, a 1980s football movie starring Kurt Russell and Robin Williams, although those two were on the same team. Alec Baldwin will be playing Wahlberg's dad, and it's going to be written by Robert Carlock (30 ROCK) with Scott Silveri. No word on who will direct yet, but Adam McKay is set to produce, along with Ferrell and Chris Henchy.
So who wins, Farrell or Wahlberg? We'll see sometime next year.
