K-Billy’s Super Sounds of the 70s weekend just keeps on truckin’ with The Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
Today we have something rather special. These are some personal photos from the set of a tiny indie flick directed by a green writer/director named Quentin Tarantino. This film is, of course, Reservoir Dogs.
The lovely reader, who I’ll call Mr. Beige, sent these along and they show how very small this set was. Is it just more or does it feel like an extremely laid back atmosphere shows through in these pics? I especially like the first one of Tarantino talking with Steve Buscemi and the last one of him posing with his tiny, non-superstar filmmaker car.
Hope you guys enjoy these very candid stills taken on the set of one of the most important independent films of the last quarter century! Click to embiggen!

If you have a behind the scenes shot you’d like to submit to this column, you can email me at quint@aintitcool.com.
Tomorrow’s behind the scenes pic is most non-non-non heinous!

Now I can show them the last pic and they'll see how cool I really am.

Charlie fucking Chan.
-
Looks like poo.
-
Cracks me up everytime! I still dont like IB that much though.
-
I totally understand wanting Will Smith for the role. I really liked the screenplay.

Quentin was still driving that car during the shoot of From Dusk Till Dawn.

Seriously! Sometimes Basecamp might be located in a nice cozy church parking lot. sometimes it might be in a fucking muddy field out in the middle bumfuck nowhere.. Basecamp locations aren't always nice places. What if a crew members gets pissed off at you. They might key the fuck outta your car, piss in the arm rest, throw a bag of shit in the glove box, and sugar the tank. Always drive a reliable cheap piece of shit or a rental when shooting films.
-
Joe tells the group (when he arrives) that Blue is dead. Presumably, killed by cops during the robbery/escape.
-
Sounds like you have some personal experience in that field ... care to elaborate? ;)

either he's alive, or he's dead or the cops got him..

or they don't. Watched this again recently, a great fucking movie, Tarantinos best.
-
I've always wondered how scary it would have been trying to direct so much talent in as a first time director.
-
Fuck ... Where does it go??

"You're gonna be Oh-Kaa-aay. Say the God-Damn Wor-rrrds!"
by Bill Brasky
Oh, excuse me, I didn't realise you had a degree in medicine! Uh... ah... are you a doctor? Are you a doctor? Answer me please! Are you a doctor? Huh?
-
Most quotable movie - second only to Ghostbusters...maybe. At one time I could quote the entire bathroom story. Classic
-
Quentin does look like he belongs behind a Blockbuster video counter talking trash.
-
bloody hell. What a film.
-
LOL yeah, that scene also include some comment about "that Invisible Bitch.." I also noticed a poster of Silver Surfer (signed by Jack Kirby.) in Tim Roth's Apartment. It's more than obvious that QT is a FF fan.
-
I heard he was offered a role in this...
-
Although occasionally I can't remember which of his quotes came from this movie and which came from his animated guest appearance as the guard who busts Bart for shoplifting in a Simpsons episode: "If I wanted smoke blown up my ass, I'd be at home with a pack of cigarettes and a short length of hose."
-
.. didn't Miller's Crossing also come out in the early 90s? "Naw. It stayed a hat."

I still can't bear to watch the scene where Madsen cuts off the guy's ear.

But I love that Steeler's Wheel song.

TheJudger: Can you believe the rumor is QT wants Lady Gaga to play Lara Lee?
by MARCEL_THE_NEGRO_PROJECTIONIST
And in a crazy way, I think it just might work. "Somebody give Miss Lara a gun." Can't wait!
-
The most quotable movie is, of course, Casablanca. "We'll always have Paris," "Play it, Sam," "I'm shocked! shocked, I tell you!," "This could be the start of a beautiful friendship," "Of all the gin joints in the world...," "the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans," are just a few lines off the top of my head that have made their way into everyday conversation and are recognized even by people who have never seen the movie.
-
To have been there, during the making of that film... what I would have given... And god bless Steven Fucking Wright. "...the Boyhwemeth..."
-
I believe he was uncredited but wrote the Silver Surfer argument scene in Crimson Tide as well
-
It's basically kind of a Samurai "honor" thing. Mr. Orange knows he fucked over Mr. White (who he had grown to admire), and he fessed up at the end as a form of pennance, even knowing it would likely lead to hiss death.
-
Thanks, After 20yrs of watching that movie countless time i never heard that. DAMMIT A.D.D.!!
-
wich is also funny because in Pulp Fiction was that chene in the diner where Abomination was trying to rob it but Nic Fury was trying to teach him the lesson of life while at the same time trying to convince himself that he should quit his gangster lifestyle while Howard Saint is just comming from taking a shit and noticed Abomination and something that looks like Morph try to rob the diner but only leave with everyone's wallets. Which explains whe QT has such a big head... He's M.O.D.O.K.

What is the corner animation supposed to be THIS time?
by Nasty In The Pasty
Or IS there any animation?
-
favorite movie of all time. steve buscemi as mr pink my favorite performance of all time. ssssssooooooooo aaaaaawwwwwwweeeesssssssoooooooommmmmmmeeeeeee.
-
It's a close call between this and Jackie Brown as Q.T's best effort thus far.
-
Maybe by reminding us of how much QT accomplished by being a lover of movies and pop culture himself will motivate US all to get off our collective asses and do something equally great stemming from the things WE love. Naaaah!!!!
-
Most quotable movie is Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Quotable does not equal gets you laid, however. Now go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person!
