Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Guillermo del Toro's giant monster movie, Pacific Rim, has is close to snagging its lead, according to Deadline and I, for one, am really excited by this choice.
Charlie Hunnam has been skirting superstardom for a while. I remember seeing him in HOOLIGANS, a small film starring Elijah Wood, and being blown away. He was fantastic in the movie.
Not long after that I was shocked to see his name in the credits of one of my favorite movies of the last decade: Children of Men... he was the creepy biker guy and was so different from his role in Hooligans that I didn't recognize him.
He's more recently starred in the show SONS OF ANARCHY, but I've been waiting for someone to try to make a star out of him and, unless things go south fast, it looks like that someone will be Guillermo del Toro.
This is a great first step for this project and I can't see who Guillermo bundles around Hunnam to make this surely kick-ass crazy monster movie!
