Ironclad has a poster and we have your first look!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with the debut of the one-sheet for Ironclad, a medieval flick with a fantastic cast of character actors including James Purefoy, Kate Mara, Charles Dance, Mackenzie Crook, Brian Cox, Jason Flemyng and the great Paul Giamatti.
I don't know how the finished product is going to turn out, but I do know that cast is great.
I dig how Giamatti looks on the poster... so much so that I can already say definitively that there won't be enough Giamatti in the flick for me. I got that feeling.
So here's the poster. Try to ignore that godawful tagline... click to embiggen!
The film premieres on VOD June 8th and then will go to theaters July 8th and the description in the press release promises that it will be "ultra-violent." Okay, I like a little bit of the ultra-violence. What about you folks?

I enjoyed it. It's about King John's attempt to take back his country by Papal decree and the small band of warriors and a knights templar determined to stop him.

Sounds like a Martin Lawrence movie. Actually, one of the tag lines from BLACK KNIGHT (2001) was "He's About To Get Medieval On You." Oh, FFS.

Apparently they were the only city in Britain not to apply for a street party licence for the royal wedding. There's a bit of history between the city and royalty down the ages.

A U.K. dvd is available on Amazon, but it's almost thirty bucks (yoink!) and one of the reviews says the quality isn't great. So when in the hell can we expect a U.S. release -- damn thing was made two years ago!

The tagline is pretty awkward, though. I think they should at least change it to "Heavy metal gets medieval" if they are making a Pulp Fiction reference. Still wouldn't really make sense though.

Or called "Dragon Sword" when it debuted on Sci-fi (Siffy). It's not that it was bad, it's that it was -so- bad that I couldn't help from shaking my head in disbelief at what I was watching. James Purefoy, Michael Clarke Duncan, Patrick Swayze and Piper Perabo...and an uncredited Val Kilmer with a brief, head-scratcher of a role. I have to wonder if these people got tricked into this somehow. Or lost a doozy of a bet... Did anyone else see this turkey?

I waited so long to see it and then years later when I finally got the chance (and I was still excited and hyped to see it) it just sucked. Mediocre at best. The opening of the movie is it's strong point, everything after that, just, yeah. Toss aside.

Sank without a fucking trace. Was only on screens for about 2 weeks and I don't know anyone who actually saw it. It looked good, but it got Zero marketing over here and no decent swing at the multiplexes

i saw it a few weeks ago when it was on a limited uk release... very large crowd who all seemed to like it,maybe not a major league film but it was certainly very earthy and bloody and must be one of the few films ive seen where a british audience cheered then the French turned up :)

He was so good in Rome he blew everyone else off the screen. I saw Solomon Kane a while ago, it's just meh. Some decent scenes and a good opening and Purefoy is damn good as always, but overall a forgettable movie. Worth a rental if you're not too demanding.

Studios REALLY need to understand that a Movie poster makes or breaks a film and shit like this doesn't fly! I wouldn't walk across the street to see this for Free with Free Popcorn, soda and candy! The poster looks like crap! Yes, Drew Struzan is retired, but does that mean that he's the only one out there who can do it?!?! There's jason palmer, Jerry Vanderstelt, Russell Walks just to name a few! The studios are fucking cheap and lazy! While people bitch about Lucas about the Prequels and Indy 4 (the latter being just as much Spielberg's fault)... at least he still would release a GLORIOUS Painted movie poster!

that had me way more excited than this. This poster tells you that Purefoy looks badass, Giamatti looks stubborn (if it was a comedy, i'd assume constipated) and Kate Mara looks as incredibly fine as she always does... and will fight/hit people with weapons. And it's medieval. This is somewhat about the ashit hitting the fan with King and the Magna Carta by the way, if you couldn't just be arsed to google this film "This July... Heavy Metal goes Magna Carta..."
